I understand what you mean when you say....
' I just felt like taken at a hand like a child.. "come now, you're too inexperienced to think for yourself, I'll show you how things are".. I prefered the vague, mysterious ending. '
...thing is many felt they needed that type of explanation and it does help.
put it this way some even asked for the LI reunion after the high EMS Destroy ending
in the EC, see people cannot use their imagination or are to lazy to do so.

Harrowmont and Bhelen were carefully crafted characters, to the point that the twist at the end makes sense because in retrospect you can see that Bhelen, while a ruthless jerk, has a talent for leadership, whereas Harrowmont is old and set in his ways.
Point being they were always intended to be this way, whereas the EC epilogues are tacked on and take the most obvious route because.. well, what else is there? What do you want, a twist where Wreav is actually the better leader than Wrex? That'd make no sense.
Well, but this is still no closure. The core question in the Krogan Genophage theme was "Will they return to their savage ways and overrun the galaxy including mankind or will they be a peaceful asset to the galactic community.
The EC didn't answer the question, the just show how the Krogan rebuilt and are actually happy to overcome the genophage.
Considering this, showing the "paradise-Krogan"-pics in EC seems like "sunshine and bunnies for everyone", which is very unexpected from Bioware and doesn't fit to the ME Universe imho.
Why not implement a Dragon-Age-like "what happened afterwards" show, where either the Korgan become Council members or an agressor?

What I like more in the Original (basically same as OP) :
- I do not need Bioware to tell me how will I exactly Control the Reapers. =.=
- The Catalyst do not have to tell me that everything can be rebuilt and repair in the Destroy ending.
- The Catalyst is too long-winded... 80% of what he said most of us already figured out - and maybe figured out better reasons/logic.
Some parts of the EC is overdone just to please fans. So much that it basically tell me how I feel and what I would do.
Overall the EC is still better with the epilogue and a very nice "Refusal" option - Die stupid AI.

I'm happy with not knowing what the krogan will do in the future because that really is another story.Edorian27 wrote...

80% of what it said confirmed what we suspected. We didn't actually know.ashwind wrote...

We speculated, we didn't know, we couldn't possibly know, we could just wildly guess. There's a difference between figuring something out and guessing.
There were several other speculations going on.

Yes. All the stuff added in the EC was stuff which I had already assumed happened.
Exactly, but the extra scenes... well, they didn't bother me, I only felt they were not needed.

Wait, do you get those slides even if you don't cure the genophage? I could have sworn I saw someone post a slide once of Tuchanka as a barren wasteland once; you should be getting that one.Edorian27 wrote...

Its not that people not using their imagination or lazy to do. I agree that synthesis and control had alittle more closure than destroy because obivously shepard dies, civilization lives on, and normandy moves ahead that is it. Both of these ending requires far less speculation than destroy. Destroy on other hand, some or a lot of people wanted a happy ending, let's face it, shepard had a hard life to begin, reunites with his or her LI, have kids, and u get the picture.
Though I do agree with u on this that the original endings should have been included with the extend cut because the majority of people (including myself) perfers straight answers over hanging questions to an end of the trilogy (if u are also ending the franchise as well, like Jak and Daxter) unless u are planning for a sequel which is obivously is bioware's (and ea's) intent.

Erm, you got me wrong. I cured the genophage against knowing better out of a mixture of desperation and feeling that betraying Wrex would be too evil. But I remain very worried of what happens afterwards... so this is why i wanted to know if I doomed the galaxy

And seriously? You actually prefered the original crapfest that was the ending?
I was thinknig the same thing when I read the title to this thread.
The EC was so much better. it actually felt like an ending...a bitersweet ending but and ending either way.
I thought it was similar to Deep Sapce Nine's ending which was similarly bittersweet.......and I liked it.
The original ending was horrible.. I liked the idea they went with, but their execution of it was horrendous.
It had reminded me of Final Fantasy VII's ending. How anyone can like that ending.....
So they beat Sephiroth and release Holy which then starts to hold back Meteor. Only for the planet to release more spirit energy to stop Meteor fully. Then there is a massive white flash and then nothing. Skip 500 years into the future (SERIOUSLY!) and we see the City covered in vegitation and then hear laughing children, WTF.
What happened to Cloud and everyone. NO explanation, no clarity, it was horrible. Thank god they brought out Advent Children: Complete so that they could finally get the ending right. It took nearly 10 years for it, but we got it.
Be glad Bioware took just a few months.
