I know that only a select people are able to wield magic in the DA lore, but I have always wondered, what is really stopping a person from training sword and shield just because you were born with magic abilities? Multi-classing makes games much more fun in my opinion when you have more options for character development to suit your playstyle, and it would make your own character actually unique among your companions. - Not to mention that it could be interesting in a story about a templar-mage war as well. Even your gameplay could affect the narrative then. Do you embrace your gift in magic or ignore it?
...plus it should be easier to give your character motivations to be interested in the war, if you in the beginning meet templars that try to take you from your family as a child (and please Bioware, try to give us some time to connect to our family members this time if you decide to kill them). Do you accept your fate and follow them nice and easy to the circle, or do you resist and become an apostate?
Thoughts?
