Synthesis
2) On a scale of 1-10 rate the pre-EC ending
1
3) On a Scale of 1-10 rate the post-EC ending
3
4) Did you at some point change what was your personal Shepard's "canon" choice, and if so what did you change to and why.
Yes...After seeing what the synthesis ending was I immediately reloaded my game and changed to the destroy ending. After that, I only replayed the ending once in order to see the post-EC destroy ending. I chose destroy without hesitation for my post-EC decision and just went to youtube to see the others. Why did they do this to Mass Effect? Btw, I almost have as many issues with the beginning of ME3 as I do the ending.

Destroy again
Pains me to see how standards are low these days

2) 3
3) 6 (wasn't great, alot better then pre-EC, but stays low because of ME2 squaddie treatment)
4) No, stuck with destroy, but only because now the other two choices just sound so bad that destroy is the only option left and as Shep still breaths in I wonder if the Catalyst is still lying, even if only slighty. Remembered Mordin's speech about "limitations" in ME2, so can't bring myself to pick Sythesis. Contol just sounds like its delaying this cycle until GodShep decides the only logical thing to do is to restart it and turns like the Cataylist did on his own creators.
I do like the concept of reject, but I not what BioWare has decided to do with it, then again I like how you can pick it by shooting the Catalyst in the head.

2) 8/10
3) 13/10 (5 points above 8)
4) My personal Canon has always remained Synthesis, my non-canon choice is ALWAYS control, this is because I like the idea of Transcending thoughts. Shepard quoted a lot of things I am going through emotionally right now and desperately want in this life. Not 'immortality', but just to be infinite, timeless, she said through her death, my thoughts are freed, and I always feel so limited and bound by my thoughts...and lay in bed sometimes saying: I want to be one with the stars and the whole universe, aware of it...so I choose Control as my Non-Canon because of how good it feels to know Shepard experienced something close to what I desire, but my Canon remains Synthesis because while I am ambiguous about how I feel about 'Transhumanism' and "Technological Utopia" the idea of unity, peace, oneness, even if it is short lived, to be that interconnected appeals to me, it's the idea of it for me.

I roleplayed my Soldier, she picked destroy
2) On a scale of 1-10 rate the pre-EC ending
6 (missing closure)
3) On a Scale of 1-10 rate the post-EC ending
9 (almost perfect)
4) Did you at some point change what was your personal Shepard's "canon" choice, and if so what did you change to and why.
I knew what the three choises would do before the EC.
My Engineer picked Synthesis...before and after EC.

2) 3
3) 3.5 - Same ending except refusal.
4) I've played them all. Destroy was my only canon choice until refusal. Now I'll settle for either.

2) 2/10, a miserable and depressing failure, and a cynical business move.
3) 6/10, a significant improvement in certain ways, though still not up the the ME standard.
4) Nope, still a Destroyer, but glad for the extra info about all the ending choices.

Ok, I want to collect some data on reactions to the ending, but I don't think the BSN poll system will allow me to properly frame this question. I will present it as 3 questions below. Individually these are all questions that have been asked many times before, however I think seeing these answers together will provide valuable insight into people's feelings on the game and ending.
1) What Choice did you pick your first time through
2) On a scale of 1-10 rate the pre-EC ending
3) On a Scale of 1-10 rate the post-EC ending
4) Did you at some point change what was your personal Shepard's "canon" choice, and if so what did you change to and why.
Feedback would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Let me say this before it becomes an issue. Please do not post responses to people's answers in this thread, this thread is for answering the above questions ONLY. If I get a large number of responses, I will create a second thread where I link to this one for discussion purposes.
1 Control. Because it is the least bad.
2 0. Seriously.
3. 6.5. It was the best possible version of the concept that Bioware wanted to push. And frankly the control monologue is quite badass.
4. Almost, but no. Refuse seemed better....until Bioware said that the next cycle just used the crucible anyway. (Probably for synthesis) Frankly, control is pretty cool, even if the Starchild is stupid. And I can't kill innocent people just for a so so, logic poor finish (Destroy).

4) Yes, Destroy, it's the best option IMO (the Starchild tricked me the first time)

4) Yes. After witnissing this crap what BioWare claimed to be an ending, I found out about the IT and headcanoned my own ending after Shepard breaks the indoctrination attempt through the Destroy choice

2) 1/10 - One of the worst endings I have ever seen, and a total insult to the fans.
3) 6/10 - Better, much better, but at the end of the day it's still a pretty average ending.
4) Maybe - This was a very tough one. Part of me wants to say yes, I changed it to Refusal because my Shepard would never go with what the Catalyst offered me. However, I would be dooming everyone in the galaxy, and Destroy is the only way to stop it. Synthesis and Control can go screw themselves...

4 After EC I changed to Synthesis.

2) 5. Thought I understood it the first time, but got confused when started thinking about it. So I was conflicted.
3) 8. Better and gave some explanations. Made me choke up and emotional.
4) Nope. Still chose Synthesis. Didn't have the heart to get rid of EDI for my first playthrough.

2. 1 at best, I had to try HARD to stop myself from breaking the TV.
3. 8. A 7 in general since it still had some plot-holes and I would have liked to know what specifically happened to the squad and crew, but an 8 since a friend and I came up with the entire Control ending right after we beat the game
4. I now alternate between Control and Destroy, as I now believe EDI and the Geth can be rebuilt and, as such, Destroy is much preferable.

2)1
3)2
4) Destroy, because it made the most sense before EC, and it makes even more sense after EC. It's the only end where the ME universe returns to the universe I loved for the past 2 and 9/10ths games.

4 - Always destroy but EC ruined replay ability for me as rannoch arc is worthless and conversations with Edi don't matter.

4) With the improved explanations in the Extended Cut, I switched to Control. Also, while I went with Synthesis originally, it wasn't really because I wanted to, but because I was tired and I thought it was being pushed as the "best", so I just said screw it and jumped in.

4. No change. The Synthesis epilogue gave me almost exactly what I thought it should be. The EC made Destroy much more appealing though, so that I'll play that with a different Shepard as well. Unfortunately, Control has lost appeal through the drastic upgrade given to Destroy, but Control is what I expected it would be as well, and appealing for different reasons.

4. Still picked destroy. Control: Shepard "reaperizes"(bad english) him self to be a Reaper God like Harbringer. Synthesis is a mockery of the diversity of life. Destroy feat Pure Paragon

4. Maybe 5.
Havent played it. Don't have a canon choice, really. None feel quite right. Leaning on control though.
