It's up to you. The game says nothing, so I refuse to accept that they used the Crucible, thus granting any legitimacy to the Catalyst and it's repulsive worldview.

And dont let the trolls get to you. If BioWare wanted that the next cycle used the crucible anyway than they would have put it in the game since they released the Extend Cut which was their attempt to clarify

They did imply it in the game, and word of god states a future cycle used it, so it's canon.

Is probably the one everyone is talking about.

Thanks.  Well, refuse goes back to being a big middle finger then.

They never said they didn't just use it to talk s*** to the Catalyst while its Reapers were destroyed around it. They can't have Speculations for everyone but provide solid details in the case where someone rejects their art. Sorry BW. Plus, isn't Gamble a producer, not a writer? I'm not going to accept anything unless it comes from Weeks anyway.

Well they avoided a war, so when they did stop the Reapers it was without a war.

A terrible war. Hence why I headcanon that they let the Reapers come in through the Citadel relay with their whole fleet waiting in ambush, and destroyed them one by one as the Catalyst cried about how it's not fair.

Or, they fixed the Crucible so that it just targets reapers. Whatever, as long as the galaxy wins on its own terms and doesn't have to operate within the paradigm of the Catalyst's solutions to live.

The game implied they didn´t, as Liara said first thing the Crucible hadn´t worked.

They wouldn't be able to predict when they'd come through the Citadel, so it wouldn't be the first one, and the second one is using the Crucible.

The thing is I dont care about what some dude says on his Twitter account. Im playing a video game and not watch the internet about information. If I wouldnt visit the forums I wouldnt know about that. So that point is moot.
The EC was made to clarify and they said multiple times that is all we get. So as long as they dont put it in-game im relying on information I get from playing. Thank you

Anything is possible in the future, and it's not the fact that they use the Crucible that makes me angry, it's railroading the galaxy into having to work under the Catalyst's paridigm to survive. While my canon choice is control, having the option for the galaxy to win on its own terms, not under the Catalyst's carries disturbing metatextual implicaitons that the writers basically changed the story, which I reduse to accept.

I, for one, refuse to dismiss the possibility that they talked things out and came to a mutually beneficial agreement. The chance may be very close to zero, but it's not quite there, is it? Harbinger seems nice enough, after all, and the starchild practically bent over backwards trying to make his immoral views presentable in polite company; easily the most reasonable mass murderer I've ever met.

I think it was a troll. So many people disliked the Starchild they just dared you to try and shoot at him again.

But I figure after the refusal the galaxy gave the Reapers one hell of a fight, possibly depleting their numbers substantially. So when the next cycle came about they were nowhere near the strength they'd been for the previous cycles, and and perhaps that would explain how they could beat the Reapers without the Crucible.

Of course, every logical theory that has made sense since the original ending has been dismissed by Bioware either by arrogance, or by the fact that the fanboys figured out what they were doing and they had to give us this in order to save face.
