I was thinking about playing a character completely different from my DA:O and DA:A Characters, and I thought about playing a Blood Mage Hawke who worships the Old Gods, thinks that magic should rule man, wants to restore the glory of Tevinter, etc.

What I want to know is, how viable would this be as far as storyline occurrences? Is Hawke specifically stated to be an Andrastian? Is it possible for him/her to voice that Tevinter was pretty sweet? Is the only way to reject the Chantry to be an atheist? Could you believe in another God/Gods, such as the Tevinter Gods or the Elven Gods?

Pretty much, anyone who has played through the entire game and possibly DLC, do you think that this kind of Maleficar, Old God Worshipping, Tevinter-loving character could actually work? Or would there be too many story contradictions?

You can't be an atheist. Hawke is a partially pre-made character, and you don't have any control over Hawke's religious beliefs. I think you can comment on Tevinter in Act II during a quest with Anders, and you can make a choice in Act III concerning Fenris, but that is the extent of it. The narrative really doesn't allow for this kind of freedom unless you ignore whist Hawke explicitly says in the game.
