It's probably a bit to early for that but anyway do we know if Inon Zur will be returning to score DA3?

If not who would you like to score for the "Next Thing"?

I love Jeremy Soule's stuff. IMHO the ideal would be Michael Giacchino but I'm not sure he's done games?

Edit: Ahhh apparantly he has. :innocent:

Mark Griskey is personal favorite of mine... but I guess he's too busy with The Old Republic.

Inon Zur + Aubrey Ashburn (as always)
That's the only way.

If they change the main composer (something similar to what they did to Mass Effect 3) I won't buy the game. Because "more popular" doesn't mean "more quality".

You wouldn't buy the game............if they changed the main composer? Seriously? That's one of your criteria for buying a game?

I want Inon Zur and Aubrey Ashburn to return as well. They also worked on the soundtrack for Dragon's Dogma (which is absolutely wonderful).

We've not announced a game yet so I'm pretty sure that we haven't announced who's going to be doing the OST :-).

That said, would be good to know who you'd like to do the music in any future Dragon Age game. I'm a big fan of Inon Zur's previous work, myself.

If you can, get Jesper Kyd. His proficiency is borderline astounding. Jeremy Soule is also very competent.

Personally i think Inon Zur should return since his music ultimately shaped the Dragon Age experience and helped make it what it is. He's composed great tracks like:
Dragon Age - Origins
The Chantries Hubris
Human Nobility
Ruins of Ostagar etc

His work in Dragon Age 2 wasn't bad either but didn't feel just as great. Memorable tracks were:
Main theme
Hawke Family Theme

But the best would be a collaboration between Inon and another composer like Jeremy Soule for example. As long as it doesn't get too expensive :)

Jeremy Soule is just boring classic fantasy.  Listening to Guild Wars 2 or Skyrim is painful because I've heard it two dozen times since Baldur's Gate.

Inon Zur composed fantastic music for Dragon Age and DA2.  His pieces of music were haunting and grand, and perfectly evoke the feeling of a dark world falling apart, as if there is harmony in such chaos.   I think that his music brings you into the DA universe, and it wouldn't be the same without him.

Adam Skorupa (Witcher 2)
Trevor Jones (Dark Crystal film music)
Basil Poledouris (I would like you to bring back from the dead... Find a way, do not care how you manage it),
Ennio Morricone (so well known I don't think I have say sort of music composed)
Russell Brower/Jason Hayes (composed song's like Invincible from Lich King and Lament of the Highborne)
Could possibly steal some of the composers from ME franchise...
Inon Zur would be good I guess too.
Not sure Thomas Newman would be able to do it well or not but his name did spring to mind.

Whatever you do, full orchestra music for all except end music song which doesn't need to be as explained below. :D

I would love to have music like this one or this one as ending theme for game as example of type of music (but not use that exact ones ofcourse), Loreena McKennitt springs to mind. Same sort of tone and use tracks with lyrics which tie into the theme of the game like you did with DA2 ending song which was very well chosen.

Dragon Age 3? Point me to a Bioware press release or something to confirm such a game.

I'd prefer to keep Inon Zur since I like consistent music in a game series, but if you must change I'd totally get behind Austin Wintory. :)

I think it's fairly clear from the OP we're making suggestions based on the fact that it will one day be released... <_<

I agree.  I really loved DAO's soundtrack, and also feel that DA2's was pretty darned good, considering the time crunch he was working under.

The soundtrack has never been an issue in the DA games. But I would like some more violin and piano. More beautiful melodies, less trumpets.
