Well I've wanted to do this with a single playthrough of my Hawke, instead of having to do multiple playthroughs.


so if I understand right, you can actually have the initial romance scene with both Isabella and Merril and later it's final outcome is determine din act 3

so is there a hard save I should make somewhere during act 3 (possibly not too far from the ending) so I can confirm the relationship with the character at the final battle?

Merrill and Anders override other romances, so while you can initiate a romance with Isabela and sleep with her, you can't simulatenously have a romance with both Merrill and Isabela. Once you tell Merrill you have romantic feelings for her in Act II, any other romance (like the one you can start with Isabela) will end.

when and what part is it where I tell Merril I have romantic feelings for her? So that way, I can do everything there needs to be before making a hard save to tell her my character's feelings or not.

If Merrill is flirted with during Back from Sundermount or Questioning Beliefs, then you've initiated a romance with her.

so she'll be locked in and it will lock out any other romance, including isabella?

Yes. If you want to do Isabela as well, do hers in the beginning of act 2. Merril's Varterral quest will only be available after you complete Blackpowder Courtesy.

So sleep with Isabella, then do Merril's post Varaterral quest and save before sleeping with Merril or saying you love her?

I want to be sure to do just about every mission before ending Chapter 2 since I don't feel like replaying it all over again
