Just need some input on a Rogue build, play experiences. Never played a Rogue. This is my 3rd playthrough. First was dw Warrior, 2nd was Mage. I've never played a rogue in this or any others. All the nwns original, expansions etc..just never interested in playing Rogue, thought I'd try it here.
Already not going great, on Normal difficulty same as other playthtoughs. She seems so fragile, and yet they all come straight for her. Got Allistir on Threaten yet they all attack me anyway, so while trying to manuever for backstabs etc...the other enemies are going for mc also and she's not fairing well. Still in early stages, at Ostagar, about to go into tower. She's already died twice and I had to use a couple Lesser Healths or she might have died more. Im not even IN the tower yet and already thinking she'll get whiped out for sure against the Ogre in the Beacon Tower room.
Is this going to be a fun character, or class I should say to play or will it be a struggle throughout to keep her alive? Later when can vanish and have better abilities Assassin/Duelist Im thinking will she be a hardier character?
Read some posts online about Rogue build being bugged also, Dex etc not working right or something. idw..
Thoughts please?

Stealth is your friend! never go into battle with the rogue in the lead, always attack from behind, for bosses use a bow until Tank has the agro and do not forget to use poisons on your blades.

make sure to put heavier armor on alistair even if that leaves her with lower grade armor. if you are playing rogue it also helps to coat your weapons before a fight for extra damage, and to go into fights cloaked, so that way you can sneak up behind them for backstabs. just make sure not to wander too far into a fight such that you are tanking 5-6 beasties while your party has to run to catch up to you.

You'll want to wind up with around 20 points in Strength (including the points you can get from the Fade), 30 points or so in Dexterity and the rest need to go into Cunning. Getting Lethality as soon as possible should be one of your goals. If you like the non-combat parts of the game, getting Coercion high syncs well with your high Cunning. Raise them both and see options you would otherwise never see.

Yeah I had my first playthroughs maxed on coercion, never lost a persuede or intimidate.
It is definitley strange to me to be running around with Allistir as my "control" character..like im not really playing my mc if that makes sense. Just have to get used to it I suppose for traveling through enemy areas so they spot him first.
Im used to only selecting on them(companions) during battles to tell them what I want them to do. I have my tactics all filled in also just like my other playthroughs, but Im just used to always micromanaging battles. Feel more involved that way vs sitting back and watching.
Still trying to figure out how high to go on strength .. Figured I'd go fairly high to put on better armor, and also to wield longswords later. Im sure I read about dex or cunning not working right on Rogues. As far as higher cunning/ dex not working the way it's supposed to for increased dagger damage.
After getting the Rogue speacial attacks that need cunning that is. No need to keep putting points into it as it won't do any good. I need to go find those posts again to reread about it.

You only need about 20 points in strength. Not kidding. Oh and when I said 30 on dexterity, that includes any bonuses from gear. A Cunning based rogue is wickedly deadly. Those daggers do very lovely armour piercing damage and stunning mobs from behind with poisons is just icing on the cake.
Momentum is another must grab for a melee rogue.

i put more str into my rouge for some of the better weapons and stuff. i didn't put any points into cunning after 36 like tunari since it seemed unnecessary. got all the skills, i was already persuading people left and right without a hassle, so it didn't seem like a problem.

yeah I was going to be taking a few items from the dual wield category of course. Only got a couple now. Probably the top row 1st three only, If I don't try longswords. And the bottom row a couple there. Middle row had duel strike, riposte, and punisher, more geared towards longswords, so will ignor those unless again I go for longswords.
Guess Im still trying to figure out best end results for this build..daggers/armor pierce vs longswords higher damage?
Sooo, the rogue isn't broken than like id read other places? As far as dumping too much into cunning/dex is a waste on rogue after a certain number. Thought a lot of people posting it wasn't stacking/adding damage the way a dagger wielding rogue should?
