So this is the path I chose: I left Redcliffe to get screwed - did a bunch of missions and came back. I went to Dwyn's house and the chest can't be interacted with... even though he's dead? Before, after I killed Dwyn in a different playthrough, it would have his chest in the back with Sten's sword in it. So now I can't get the sword?

Did you talk to the scavenger and then to Faryn? The chest might not become interactable until you get to the part of the quest that tells you to find Dywn.
