Just like every year, San Diego will soon held Comic Con International, an annual event for games, comics, series fan and more. Of course, BioWare cannot miss such an event. I would like to remind you that on  the last year's fair the developers have announced a DLC to Dragon Age  II and revealed some details of the Dragon Age: Redemption series. But  that's not all, I think that everybody remembers the mysterious t-shirt  with cancelled expansion Dragon Age: Exalted March. What news from the Dragon Age universe we will hear this time?  The fair starts on Thursday July 12 and ends on Sunday July 15. In the  extension you can find more details on BioWare and DarkHorse's panel.

Saturday, July 14

10:30-11:30 Dark Horse: Bioware-- Dark Horse and Bioware have come together once again to provide fans with exclusive news on Dragon Age, and the ever-expanding Mass Effect universe. Join Dark Horse director of public relations Jeremy Atkins and editor Dave Marshall, along with Dragon Age writers David Gaider and Sylvia Feketekuty, BioWare art director Derek Watts, moderator "Evil Chris" Priestly, and a cast of other celebrity geeks and surprise guests for an exciting look into the Dark Horse/BioWare universe. Attendees can be sure to expect a spirited discussion on the ongoing link between comics and gaming, with exclusive news and more!

We do not know if there will be any transmission of the event, but if we find out we will pass that news to you immediately. There is a chance that we will be able to see the conference thanks to BioWare Puls TV.

Thank you for this info - will be watching to see what (if anything) they announce. Since AFAIK there's nothing 'new' in production apart from DA3 we can only hope they will choose now to announce it.

Maybe. But they also can say something about new comic books. BioWare has an hour for their show. It will include both Dragon Age and Mass Effect.

If it's connected to DarkHorse, and at a comic-con, it's more likely to more comics I'd have thought.

If they say anything about DA3 in any formal fashion anytime soon, it'll likely be Gamescom in August. Barring that, they might reveal it at the VGAs in December.

They announced DA2 in early July 2010 through Game Informer. Actually about 2 years ago this week, since Game Informer always reveals their new covers the first Thursday of every month. And then they had that first CG trailer in August 2010 at Gamescom.

I'm guessing Comic Con is just the new Dragon Age comic coming in August or whenever and some new Mass Effect comic maybe.

The game was first announced in July 2010 and it's first trailer was released in August the same year.

I still predict Dragon Age 3 will be announced the VGA Awards in the late fall...the SAME way ME3 was announced.

There will be an announcement marked by a teaser trailer.

Thanks for letting me know guys. I also thought that maybe they'll announce something, or give us a little more detail about it in either late August or fall sometime, but now I'm not so sure.

Ah well, I guess we'll find out eventually.

Darn it, I was going to work at ComiCon this year but had to cancel, and now I learn that BioWare staff and potential Dragon Age information is going to be there?! Darn it, this is so disappointing! Dx

It'll probably relate to the comic book series.

Yeah, it will be just comics.

There will be no DA exclusively panel (on the other hand, ME will).

What you guys think this comics is gonna be about? Maybe the story that would be in the Exalted March expansion?

And would be cool if someone from Bioware could confirm if they gonna stream or at least tape it and release on Pulse for us (ME panel too). If not, hope some fans record it.

Don't forget that the hardcover edition of The Silent Grove is released on July 25, so they will be promoting that as well as any new comic material they might debut.

Hmm, interesting that Amazon has August 7 as the release date, when DG had earlier said July 25. Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Unless they come out of left field and tell us there really is new DA2 DLC, I think we might learn a thing or two about DA3.

The only thing I'm certain about is hearing more about the 'Those Who Speak' comic.

No more DLC for Dragon Age II. I just mentioned this expansion. On San Diego Comic-Con 2011 David Gaider had a mysterious t-shirt that would announce Exalted March.

Posted Image

In a post on Twitter, series executive producer Mark Darrah said:

"We did have plans for an expansion pack to DA2 but, other DA opportunities came up. There were even shirts! It was called Exalted March".

All that was expected to be added will appear in Dragon Age III.

I know that, that's why I said it would be out of left field.

I dislike this teaming up with Dark Horse.

Shouldn't they save things like comic books... and animes... and novels... for a game series that is, you know, actually relevant to the gaming world? After DA:O it was, surely. But DA2 put the Dragon Age series firmly in the mud with a lot of the gaming community. Why keep on plugging all this non-video game content when the most recent release of your actual video game was received with tepid (at best) fan and critic reception?

Why not team with... I don't know... NO ONE. And focus on getting your next product to the best level as humanly possible?

Maybe I'm crazy. Maybe I'm crazy.

The comics are fantastic. There is NOTHING wrong with expanding the brand.

Agreed. For more that i don't like DA2 (don't get me wrong, i like the characters and kinda like the story, it fails for me on gameplay reasons) it's good to have tiny bits of DA stories till the next game arrive.

The only asset common to the games and the comics is David Gaider. He's obviously pretty valuable to the game-making process, but the writing is only one part of that.

Also, the comics let them wrap up a sub-plot that they probably couldn't address in the games (ie. the fate of Maric).
