Earth DLC

The latest DLC already came out with completely different powers, and these new names sound like they are going to be VERY unique. I'm looking forward to it. (It would also need at least 1 female character to make all the marines a sandwich every now and then ;-)

That's also a problem I have with this new DLC.
If those new humans are this powerful, even more powerful that the aliens, blowing up the whole balance, what's the point?
Of course that's just a "if", so I may be totally wrong, and I hope so.
And I pray that those are not Ultra Rares.

You are going to have to wait a week, just like everyone else.
I wouldn't mind the official announcement with a description of the classes NOAW though

As for the ladies. I'd like them to be the...not...typical...classes in ME. Soldier, Engineer and Infiltrator. Let the guys have the Biotics.

Plus, regardless of their rank. I'm betting they'll suck anyways. I mean, since when has rarity ever had anything to do with how good a character or weapon is?
Execpt for the Infiltrator. They should just nerf that in the womb.

Who cares about character models?
Every single class has a Human Female model who is exactly the same, stat wise, as the Human Male, so I don't know what your problem is? Why is having Male Quarians a bad thing? They have a completely different move set.
Saying you feel insulted by not having a female character model is a bit absurd. The character model matters little compared to the player behind it.
A lot of people care one way or the other. I.E. There's a poster on this thread not far back that argued he didn't want to play as a female.
There's lots of femgamers that don't want to play as a guy. It works both ways.
And yes, I am thoroughly insulted every time female content gets cut, or is an afterthought. Call it absurd, but there's a minority that feels the same. If the tables were reversed, and all male content got cut in favor of female content, good money says there'd be a lot of guys insulted.
As for male Quarians, it just rubs me the wrong way on a personal level that they added them making the Asari the only female only species represented (Since there's only female asari) represented while there's a -lot- of species only represented as males that have males and females.
I'm sure there's a lot of argument against female Turians, and Female Krogan for the simple sake that it's a boy's club. They may try to hide behind lore, but I just see it as an excuse to hide behind.

Just because the two phoenix characters were men does not automatically mean that they are going to make all six new humans male. That's an absurd assumption. Considering we already have female humans I am 100% sure these characters will not be all male.
Now the only question is: Is there a male & female counterpart for each class or does a single gender pertain to each class? Either way It's safe to say there will be AT LEAST TWO female characters if they take the latter route seeing how it will be split between three pairs - soldier/sentinel, adept/vanguard, and engineer/infiltrator. That does not make BioWare misogynist.
Here's hoping for a phantom character. I don't care if it's ex-cerberus or N7 experimental alliance funded "phantom" program.
It's not as simple as it being 2 male phoenix members. It's:
1: That the entire pack was male.
2: That both phoenix were males.
It feels like a female model was cut, or just not even thought of.
In my experience when corners are cut, they stay cut as far as gaming companies go.
Now, why are things cut? Because they aren't important. What gets cut? Female representation. That means Female representation isn't important.
That means, to me, females aren't important to them. That sounds like Misogyny to me.
It's a common occurance in the gaming industry, and I'm sick of it. I won't just tolerate it anymore coz it continues that standard.
Of course, Bioware -can- prove me wrong, and I hope, with low expectations mind you, that they do, by including at least 1 woman in every future DLC pack. If they include more than 1? Just makes me happier with them. The fact they -can- prove me wrong exists. Thing is, will they? Only experience will tell me that.
I hope your predictions are right, honestly. It doesn't sound far fetched.
Still, I have low faith that it'll happen. I'd rather be right then get my hopes up, and get burned. I'll be right, and bitter as all get out, but I'll be right, and less hurt.
If I'm wrong, it's more of a victory than if I were right.
As far as I go, I hope at least one female is a Vanguard, and has some nice melee, and she doesn't have to rely on powers to be strong at melee. If she's powers reliant that means she has to travel light, which means that if she doesn't get weapon lightening benefits, she's stuck using weak/light weapons, which, in turn, nullifies choice in gameplay. that makes her less popular, that means she's just another character that falls on the wayside.
Furthermore, I'm hoping she isn't flimsy. Sure vanguards get to recharge their barriers quickly, but that doesn't make them more or less flimsy compared to other vanguards.
Of course, it's far more likely that any woman in the pack will prolly be slid into the notion that women in games are snipers/casters/healers/support and simply cannot tank, and/or melee well. It'll irritate me greatly if that's the case, but at least they included women which keeps what little faith I have alive that women will be included in the future.
For better or worse, I'd be thrilled.Nyoka wrote...
