I find it interesting how most groups that demand "equal treatment" actually want better-than-equal treatment. Truthfully, most women would not want 100% equal treatment (think for a moment about that would fully mean), and as soon as women stop charging romantically interested men (the normal ones, not stalkers or whatever) with sexual harassment, I'll be more than willing to listen to their real problems.
Regarding the actual topic at hand, I'm hoping the new classes offer more than just existing alien characters in human models.

one guy got his life almost ruined by a fake rape charge and he just got off of it not too long ago.

Right, coz wanting a larger female presence in videogames with a dash of potential equality in gameplay balance as opposed to punishing a playstyle is evil, and wrong? And why should female characters be forced to begin with? Are they that hard to make?
Listen, I'm not looking to make massive real world change via this board, nor am I expecting my wants to be some gigantic milestone that makes the world more open to, well, anything. It'd be nice if somehow, Mass Effect changed the world's views on female representation of videogames, and that the minority, and I had a hand in it, but I doubt it. I'm simply giving my opinions on a medium, expressing my wants.
Yeah, I might not be all sugary sweet about expressing myself, but I don't see being sugary sweet over being honest as a route to what I want. Restricting myself to using honeyed words hasn't gotten me anywhere in other game forums, so to blazes with it. I'm going to be honest about my views.
People being civil over the matter of adding female characters to a game still get ridiculed regardless of the poster's gender, and even with civil words, people leap upon it, and try to tear it apart calling it feminist, and troll the notion.
I'm sorry you don't care for change, even in the medium of videogames, and want to keep the status quo in said medium. I also disagree, and keep my current opinions. An opinion piece won't change my mind.
If people don't like my ideas, or the way I express them, I don't care. If others want to go on about chivalry, equlaity, and laugh, fine. I'm still going to speak my mind.

*Yawn*
Creating a straw man argument won't negate the fact that your egregious previous statement was ridiculously out of place in the thread and a blatant soap box post for feminism.
Want more female characters? Go buy a game that suits your needs. Arguing like you have for your wants and needs isn't likely to public opinion or further your agenda. Indeed, your diction and tone serve the opposite of your intent, unless your just looking to be a shock jock for a day and trying to raise awareness. In which case, why are you here again?
tl;dr: It is a video game. If the manner in which the game is designed does not meet with your approval, then by all means vote with your wallet and don't buy it. But please, less soapbox.

Funny, 'cause it sounded like you were trying to make demands. You know, with that whole "minimum of one female character per DLC pack" thing and all...

Just as long as you remember that "honest" and "wrong" aren't mutually exclusive.

When did I ever say I was against females getting good treatment? My point was that feminists whine and complain when women already get good treatment a large portion of the time. Sure, women are mistreated sometimes, particularly in the workplace, but men get mistreated by corporate policy, too. Overall, women have it pretty good, and those that don't need to realize that they can change their own lives, not sit on their fat behinds and wait for life to change around them just because they cried themselves to sleep wishing for it.

As long as you take some time every now and then to reevaluate what's going through said mind, go ahead. I don't laugh at the plight of women, I laugh at equally-sexist feminist propaganda. Forced equality is not equality. Work toward positive change any way you can, but trying to bludgeon the idea into people isn't the way to do things.

Of course they are... When have we seen 100% identical characters outside of the male/female beginner humans? They usually change at least one power around.

I can see these being the human characters, with those exact skillsets.
Does it mean they will be? Maybe not.
But I definitely would not turn down a Human Infiltrator with Energy Drain/Proximity Mine or a Decoy Engineer.
The graphic though is definitely a placeholder. The Cerberus/Vorcha/Male Quarian had something similar when for a small amount of time during the launch of "Rebellion" it was not reading correctly.
The skills were correct, if I'm remembering properly, but the graphic was the "generic" Male Human Infiltrator/Engineer.

Yeah, you're boring, too.
Take my posts how you will. I'm giving my opinions.
Go buy a game that suits my needs? Funny there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of them.
And I do vote with my wallet considering videogames. I do like that way of thinking, and put it into practice quite often.
Most of the games I have offer lots of characters, some being female to pick from, or gender selection for the protagonist. I'm fine with that, too.
On top of that, I already have a copy of mass effect 3, and enjoyed the single player parts immensely. The ending DLC even moved me to tears.
I think you're missing something though. I didn't have a problem with Mass Effect until the DLC pack that was all guys, and rubbed me the wrong way with Male Quarians with no reciprocation of gender representation with all male represented alien species. If you've got a problem with that, then I repsect that, but I don't agree.
I still respect Mass Effect on the single player level in so many ways. I'm just worried about the Multiplayer part. hence why I'm in this section of the forum.
Sorry if i got on my soap box over the matter, I'm just a bit passionate about some of my opinions. I'm not expecting people to change their opinions, I'm just voicing my opinions.
In the end, though, it doesn't matter how I word things. I doubt many people will take me seriously as opposed to try and tear me, and/or my ideas down, or just ignore me. They're free to have their opinions, too. I don't have to like theirs any more than they like mine, though.
I'm just jaded over the whole matter, and am expressing myself.
Lets not forget the Femshep cover of the game, and the femshep trailer, and letting us be a female shepard, giving female shaprd love interests both male and female, etc.Feauce wrote...

That's pretty much exclusive to single player, however, and singpleplayer is another part of the forum. Furthermore, that was then. This is now.
The present, and future of Multiplayer is what I'm worried about, and past experiences definitely give me a reason to worry. I really don't want Asari Justicar to be the last female character they add.
Huh, sorry if I sounded demanding. Especially if I sounded demanding moreso than most other people wanting something for multiplayer. I'm vocal about it, yeah, but what i want doesn't come up often, and is usually on page 5 by the next day. Some persons don't want another topic made about wanting female anythings to be added, so I'm trying to keep older topics alive.Rebel_Raven wrote...

I know what I want, and I don't see it as gamebreaking, or lore breaking even. If the fanbase, no matter how small, doesn't speak up, they'll prolly never get what they want.
I'm human. I can be "wrong." Same as anyone else.Just as long as you remember that "honest" and "wrong" aren't mutually exclusive.

I dunno, tossing the whole "evils of forced integration" thing at me over wanting a stronger presence of women in future DLC, and videogames, and then wanting me to re-evaluate my position sorta hinted at it.
Alright, I think things are meandering off course here. You're going into changing the workplace, and thinking this involves my life beyond videogames, and such. I'm not dragging the world into this. At the most, the broadest I'm being is -videogames-, and maybe poking at the videogame industry as far as what is published.
Also, who're you calling "fat"?! <.< j/k
I've taken time to re-evaluate my ideas on the amount of female playable characters, and what roles they're in, and how often women get cut out of games, and why they get cut pretty much every year with the hot new videogame seasons, e3, and so on. So far, things still haven't quite changed enough for me to not feel there's a lack of them compared to games that exclude them as far as my opinion goes.As long as you take some time every now and then to reevaluate what's going through said mind, go ahead. I don't laugh at the plight of women, I laugh at equally-sexist feminist propaganda. Forced equality is not equality. Work toward positive change any way you can, but trying to bludgeon the idea into people isn't the way to do things.
Lets get something straight. I'm keeping my world views out of this, and am sticking to videogames, and maybe letting some distaste over the videogame industry slip out. I'm not looking to spearhead some global wave change in all things here as opposed to hoping to secure more, fun female characters in multiplayer. Some guys believe it or not, don't want to play as a woman in game. The reverse is also true.
Lets not make a mountain out of a mole hill. While I may be vocal, and angry with my posts, it's not to change the whole world. It's about the multiplayer facet of Mass Effect.

Nah, I'm glad that everyone gets the free pen as opposed to just the guys getting one while the women get nothing, so I've nothing to say on the matter.
And yeah, I recognize that the forum isn't entirely populated by mature minded persons, and I don't claim to be a mature minded person either. I'm posting, and have a bit of hope that my request will happen.
