Hello,

I'm an Origin newbie.
With all this registering going on EA, Origin, BSN, i'm at a total loss.
I actually have several questions in one, since it's all related.

> Now that I've installed it, I suppose there is no way to experience the original endings without uninstalling the EC?

> I've got a DVD version of ME3. Let's say I need to format my PC. What will I need to do if I want to play ME3? Obviously, I'll have to install Origin again. I'll also have to install the game again. I've just checked if the EC was still available even if offline, and it is. So my question is, if I do a fresh install on a formatted PC (but with same components, motherboard, etc.), will I EVER be forced to connect to Origin online to be able to fully play the game? Cause I'm perfectly happy with playing offline all the time.

> About DLC and patches: I disabled the storage of installation files for DLC and patches in Origin, so I don't think I have any of these left. But, let's say I uninstall the EC, enable storage, reinstall the EC, will I get a perfect standalone EC install, that I could store somewhere and be able to use perfectly offline??? Same question about patches.

> I am really confused here because of something I noticed in ME2, so that's maybe a different issue since it's not Origin related. I've got a DVD copy of ME2 with a Cerberus Network code I already redeemed here. So I've got several .exe files for each related DLC. I remember playing ME2 once offline after having installed the Cerberus Network DLC, and I got a message saying the content wasn't available. So, does it mean you can't access / use the said ME2 DLC if you're offline??? I didn't pay too much attention at the time, but it really bugs me and I'd like this to be clear.

> This question is related to another one. If I wanted to delete my BSN account, which I was forced to create in order to get that Cerberus Network DLC, would the said DLC be still available in ME2?

All in all, my objective is to attain maximum independance towards any online connection and any plug-in. I like my privacy and also, it may sound strange, but sometimes, you don't have an internet connection.

Any answer or advice will be greatly appreciated.

> If you have the Collector's Edition you will have to log in at least once *per character* to get the supplemental material activated (the weapons, robotic dog, N7 hoodie). Note that you will not have to do this if you start a NG+, as your items carry over.

> If there are issues with the EA server, you will not be able to continue any game that has been played with DLC installed (such as From Ashes; if you're playing a 'clean' game, you should be fine). If there are troublesome issues with the internet connection on your end, you will not be able to play games with DLC attached to it (regardless of whether you're playing offline or not). IMPORTANT EXCEPTION: if you actively disconnect your internet (either virtually or physically), you can still play any and all games. I don't know why this happens.

> As far as I am aware, all DLC linked to a BSN account remains with it. Any and all DLC linked to an account that is later deleted doesn't suddenly become 'unactivated.' I have no idea whether one can merge a new account with an old one.

Thanks for answering, not sure if that helps me though since I only have the basic edition.

Well, I just did manually disconnect my network connection (in Windows I mean) and started ME3 - i always leave the Origin online option unchecked - and i was able to play with EC. I haven't tried this, but if some reason I am not accurately identified via my Origin / EA account while online, I won't be able to play with the EC???

So let's say I delete this BSN account, it means if I create another BSN account absolutely distinct and unlinked to my Origin account I won't be able to use that Cerberus Network code again?  So basically I lose all the DLC, right?

When did this ever get so complicated, I wonder. Image IPB
EDIT: so, anybody can answer that or anybody having the same issues / questions?
I know i'm late to the party about the Origin debate, but still, I feel like I should be doing something else instead of trying to figure that all out.

If you have no DLC then you're actually better off. You can play the game with no issue since the game doesn't have to verify anything (since the game itself has been activated). This only seems to happen with pay DLC, though (such as From Ashes and the N7 Arsenal Pack) and not free DLC like the EC.

And yes, if you delete the account with the Cerberus Network Code connected to it, you will almost certainly lose all of the associated DLC connected to it. You will need to purchase a new code for the new account in order to download anything in the future (like the EC).

I have the same issue (kind of). Watched on Tube the EC, prefer the original ending, didn't download/install - so this one is solved. However, I've installed several months ago the Resurgence pack, just to have it there, although I was almost sure I wouldn't play ME online. That pack added a delay when starting the game (connecting to EA servers and updating the state of the galaxy). Unlike other add-ons, I can't find a way to get rid of the Resurgence pack without uninstalling and redownloading the whole game. Any ideas?

I have no earthly idea why they don't offer an Uninstall option on Origin (yet another reason why Origin is utter fail). I'm sorry to say this but I think that uninstalling and reinstalling is your only option.
