This. Come on people. You don't need to be spoonfed everything.

"BUT BUT BUT WE DIDNT SEE A FACE"

Oh yeah. Lets just cut to some random guy in N7 armor and make a big deal about them taking a breath with an extra scene that you need high EMS to achieve. Oh and lets make it a random female when they choose Femshep. Really people?

yeah its more that he just takes a single breath and that is very ambiguous as to his actual ultimate fate

Obviously he was alive but that doesn't necessarily mean he was found, he was in a part of the citadel no one had ever been to except keepers so we don't even know if people could find their way there or not.  Plus showing a reuninion will always be better than simply implying it happened.

Sigh...

Shepard may not be dead in the destroy ending but the series is. The horrible ME3 endings killed it.

I love this kind of thinking...

BUT BUT BUT WHY NOT JUST CUT TO BLACK WITHOUT SHOWING ANYTHING AT ALL?

I hate games that are cutting cheap at the ending. "Oh, just use your imagination" Yeah, I do that alright. Why was there an outcry again over these endings pre-EC?

Because it showed practicaly nothing at all, and what it showed was silly and nonsensical. Not a lot of people were there saying" Just use your imagination, why spoonfeeding everything to you?"

Waking-up Shepard after choosing destroy in a pile of rubble, AFTER her LI does not put that plaque is a logical plothole (or a temporal plothole?) just like all the other things that got criticized for being nonsensical. A videogame is a visual medium, and the current ending is just lazy or an intentional cliffhanger for something else...

Maybe ME4 should really be just a DVD with "Use your imagination, stupid!" on the cover...they will still sell it for 50 € the least...

Woo, $80 just to use imagination.

Seriously, there's a thing called "Show, don't tell." I'm kind of getting really discouraged with how the devs have to clarify via interviews, twitter, forums without actually, you know, what, DOING THIS IN THE GAME ITSELF.

What was the point of the game if they have to clarify outside of it? >.<

And the reason they didn't just show it in the EC is because...?

Already done.  Didn't you guys get this scene after the credits and star gazer rolled?

J/K!  Props to
Mallyxable  for creating it though.  I hope to see more SP DLC within the coming year.

Yup.

The issue isn't whether or not Shepard is alive; we know s/he is. Rather, we are curious as to how Shepard ended up in a rubble on Earth (apparently) in the first place, and what happens next.

If you want to regard hints and suggestions as proof I really hope that you never end up on a jury. Sure, the intention is that he's alive but a critical thinking mind doesn't take mere suggestion as proof. It's subconcious.

They don't think there is much demand for it. Or they themselves don't care much about the protagonist or the character they created? After all, the way Shepard got her story closed was more than unworthy and unfitting...

The only way of putting a reunion or some crap like that if Bioware makes a pre-ending DLC like the leviathtan and put as a bonus cutscene as a surprise. Techinally, this wouldn't be called an "ending" DLC, I mean this is the last of shepard's story so there must be some DLC that could shown in the outcome like "From Ashes" with Javik.

That is my theory on it

Not entirely sure what you're trying to get at here. I wasn't really implying anything of that sort.

Basically, the breath scene seems to have been designed as a deliberate attempt to ignite speculation, as to say that the player is free to interpret it in any way they wish without worrying much - and even think up their own headcanon. This, while a decent concept at heart, isn't overly fitting in this case and I am of the opinion that there should have been more exposition in regards to the breath scene.

Because ART!

Seriously, if you have to explain the ending, the ending didn't work.
