I guess using that pfft you need clarification? logic Shep's voice over during Control is stupid and pointless and just for people who need absolute clarification. Clearly the original endings were just fine.
Yup. Dead Shepards get clarification and closure. Live Shepards get implications and speculation.

How so? The guy you see at the end clearly cannot be Shepard because it has N7 dog tags whereas Shepard's dog tags are on his desk. Plus, my Shep is partial to pink/neon green/neon blue armour...If you needed confirmation I don't know what to tell you. It was beyond obvious he was alive.

This.
If you have to confirm it, it's not obvious.
And one breath is not enough closure.
If you have to confirm it, then some of your fans can't take a hint.
It was pretty obvious to most people.

That was his old dogtags. You know, before he died. Get your facts straight.AlexMBrennan wrote...

The lack of interpretation skills by many in the fanbase, is part of the main reason there's so much mindless hate towards the extended cut .....half the titles of the threads are posing questions that are directly answered in the EC...
We already know what everybody is doing once the wars over....do we really need to hear it directly from Bioware? No....seeing a reunion in a picture isn't going to make the fact that he survives the destroy ending, any more relevant
Tali builds her house, Liara has babies, Ashley is a Spectre, Vega is N7, Javik is going off into the sunset 'samurai' style, and Shepard and Garrus retire and live off the war vids

That's mostly it. Live Shepard's are stepchildren, they don't get the same love as Sheaprd's that thre their lives away to let the Reapers live...
Anyway, I still wonder why so many people claim that Shepard being shown alive and well is not needed, because it is implied s/he is all well and happy...
The pre-EC endings were also all up to your imagination, yet they had to make the EC to fill all the "plotholes"...yeah, right, the entire ending was a plothole anyway and outright out of place and unfitting, and nothing of the EC can even come close to make the ending satisfying to me...
Therefore I really settled for the smallest denominator that could give me a sense of triumph: Seeing Shepard really alive. The ultimate victory of hope over the reapers and their false ideology and false choices...
I did not receive it. It received the same as I had before the EC: A breathe. Fine. Nobody that cared for Shepard actually has need for the EC. It is pointless, because it gives me neither closure nor clarification, but more of the dreded speculation that was already the bane of the pre-EC-endings...

Oh my god, they also said before the ending that the silly mass relays were all okay, but still most of the fanbase cried out loud until they explicitly stated and showed they would be repaired. Was it so hard to imagine them to be repaired before the EC?
In fact, following the logic "Seeing Shepard alive is not necesssary" leads me to "Nothing of the ending shown is necessary, you have after all your head!"
They should just have settled it with the "You ended the Reaper-threat"-message I guess, obviously this would be enough by far for a lot of people, why they even bothered making any ending sequences at all makes me wonder...

Yeah yeah "You don't get it, it's art"
Been hearing that since the original endings. Oh, wait, the scene is exactly the same as the original ending. Funny, that

I doubt anyone would care how it looks, we just want to see us have peace with our respect LI, this should had been added in EC because it was highly demanded and would have pleased many people.chemiclord wrote...

Finally some clarification on that via Game Rant's article. Apparently Tully Ackland of Bioware confirmed this on these forums {so sorry if this isnt news to you}. There was alot of speculation and it definately was not clear in game, so this is a very nice little thing to wake up to. Now all we need is some type of actual visual portrayl of this in game. Be it a single slide or scene attached to other dlc-whatever. Just do it Bioware, I think the demand for it is clear. It will help your dlc sales immensely and it cant go against your artistic vision if its what you put in the game and intended. Thoughts? What does this clarification do for you?
YOU MEAN I GET TO HAVE THOSE BLUE BABIES WITH LIARA AFTER ALL?
Seriously, a DLC tailored to that would be awesome. Since they've made it pretty easy to get the best ending with the patch I think it would be fair.

Comparison:
Shepard lying in a pile of rubble taking a breath is the equivalent of the Normandy crash in the first ending. Yeah you can "speculate" that they get home. But there's not much to work with.
EC let the Normandy take off again. Why couldn't it show Shepard get out of the rubble?

Meh....I was no fan of the original endings.....because they made no sense.....I had no problem with the relays being destroyed or not....I just wanted the StarBrat to make sense, and to see my impact on tge galaxy by ending the Reaper threat.....the EC gave me these two things.......I already know what my squad is going to do after the war.....there's nothing left to do, other than what they planned on doing after it was all over. Knowing this, the inclusion of a scene depicting this in no way makes the ending better or worse....its just eye candy for people that can't use common sense

I want my FemShep to be able to punch either Jacob or Brynn in the face. That's the only peace I'll have with them, and I'll be damned if I have to attend a baby shower or wedding.

I think you underestimate just how far people will go to feel insulted and pissed off.
I can absolutely 100% guarantee that people would throw a ****fit over any Reunion DLC.
