Rank the endings from best to worst

In-Universe
1): Synthesis. BioWare really shoved that one down our throats; it's pretty obvious that we're supposed to assume it's a perfect Mary Suetopia. While such a society tends to be facepalm worthy from outside the story, post-synthesis Mass Effect is
2): Paragon Control: A benevolent AI God formed from an ascended human watching over society, where have we heard this before? Oh yeah, Deus Ex 1.
3): High EMS Destroy: Reapers dead, status quo restored. People presumably go back to shooting each other like we are wont to do 5 minutes after the relays are working again.
4): Renegade Control: AI Dictator decides to play big brother.
5): Low EMS Destroy: In the Grimdarkness of the Far Future of Mass Effect, there is only Grimdark.
6): Reject: There's literally no point to this option. Not sure if you guys didn't realize it, but the next cycle wins using the Crucible, and presumably chooses Synthesis since that's BioWare's pet ending.
Of course, from an out of universe prospective, my list is somewhat different.
1): Renegade Control: Shepard's speech is terrifying in the renegade version of the speech, and damn is this ending cool.
2): High EMS Destroy: Not much to say here. It's still not a good ending by any means in terms of story quality due to the MacGuffin (the Crucible), but it's tolerable.
3): Paragon Control: This ending reminds me of Deus Ex's "Helios" ending in a good way.
4): Low EMS Destroy
5): Synthesis: Too many reasons to list.
6: Reject, for the same reason as above.

3. Sovereign victorious
4. Destroy
5. Human reaper victorious
6. SO BE IT!
7. Critical mission failure
8. Control
9. Synthesis
Yes, dying to the end boss of ME2 is a better ending than Synthesis or Control, IMO.

I'm interested to hear an answer to that as well. I wasn't aware EMS affected Refusal; I thought it played out the same regardless.john v rambo wrote...

2. Renegade Control / High EMS Destroy. Hard to figure which is worse, genocide or a permanent machine god dictator which won't take crap from anyone and may just make husks designed to kick people out of windows. While badass, that might not be a good thing. The long term repercussions are hard to calculate either way.
3. Low EMS Destroy. In addition to genocide a lot of stuff gets blown up. Definite negative.
<== Gap because Reject is the suck ==>
4. Reject. Everyone you know and love dies, everyone they know and love dies, and so and and so forth because you couldn't pull the trigger. At least with Destroy not everyone dies. I mean seriously, not only are you letting humanity die, but you're letting an entire race of hot bisexual blue chicks die off - why won't anyone think of the hot bisexual blue chicks?

No matter what reasons you chose it for, destroy is agreeing that synthetics and organics won't ever get along because, again, no matter what your reasons for choosing it, you are destroying all synthetic life with it, even the geth.
Control is doing the same things reapers were doing: controlling organics, thus agreeing with their methods of absolute power. Also giving a single entity (reaper shep) absolute power, where has that ever gone wrong before?
Synthesis is forcing all organics and synthetics to merge DNA, forcing them to agree with and understand each other because their minds are now alike, which agrees with the reapers logic that they will never understand their differences by themselves, since, for all intents and purposes, there are none anymore. It is also the end of the evolutionary chain that makes the synthesis a bad choice. You're raising every species in the galaxy to the top of their evolutionary peak, without them having any say in it. The Salarians did it with the Krogan, and look how that turned out.
Also did you SEE the baby krogan in the synth ending? It was like that friggin' dog from the intro to the old goosebumbs tv series!

2. High EMS Destroy
3. Maruader Shields
4. High EMS Reject
5. Renegade Control
6. Paragon Control
7. Low EMS Destroy
8. Mako blowing up
9. Suicide Mission Failure
10. Joker getting shanked during Collector abduction
11. Laser burned game disk
Synthesis isn't on my list. I'd rather toss the game out the window than even consider it an option.

I like the way you think. I think objectively synthesis is the best thing for the universe, as in the most people benefit/are not destroyed. Refuse is the worst outcome, everyone is killed.

Personally, I hate synthesis because of how bad it is in terms of science (to the point where it blows away any notions of internal consistency) and the storytelling. Basically, space magic--> BioWare's special preachy transhuman utopia.
