 What's the fundamental difference between mages and rogues? By rogues, I mean specifically archers. Since both archers and mages play the role as dps. In addition, in generic mmorpgs and rpgs, I can't really see any difference between mages and ranger/rogue classes other than the fact that one uses magic damage while the latter uses physical damage.

I figured the class roles in DA2 go something like this:

Mage: Magic AoE DPS, healing, buffer/debuffer, CC

Rogue: single target melee dps, range physical AoE DPS

Warrior: physical AoE DPS, tank
