Sorry if this has been already postet.

1. Geth are software. They can upload themselfs in any platform that has enough processing power
2. Same with EDI. Her robotic body was just a platform like those of the geth. She is still existing in the Normandy.
3.In the epilogue of destroy ending we see spaceships. You CANNOT fly a spaceship without computers.

So hardware and software are not destroyed. You're welcome to proof me wrong.

I was under the impression that everything with Reaper code used to strengthen it was eliminated from the galaxy.

If that were true, then Legion's sacrifice meant nothing at all.

If the Crucible is capable of completely changing and merging all synthetic and organic life it is certainly more than capable of deleting a few lines of code.

I agree its possible the geth are still alive, but EDI has always been in her blue box, and she cant upload herself into something else, so destroy probably destroyed the blue box, thereby killing EDI, no matter what. Plus they show her mugshot, along with legion and mordin, when hackett honors the fallen.

Edi and the Geth died in Destroy. They are gone. No speculation there

Starship computers are enhanced by VI computerisation.

EDI and the GETH are part-Reaper.

They most certainly die in the destroy ending. If you didn't romance Liara or Tali, you have to chose to either never see your LI again...
... or kill EDI.

Basically, the way I see it, EDI's dead and gone and the Geth are back to the point they were before the code was uploaded. However, the Geth can, on their own, advance to the point that they are individuals once more.

What makes you assume that?

The Destruction ending varies depending on EMS: With the lowest EMS even the relays explode and everyone on Earth dies, while with the highest EMS the crucible can distinguish between synthetic life and technology that isn't that.

EDI is about as dead as dead can be.

The Geth are probably going to make it into the next ME game so, they will make it.

Legion was already developing (veeery slowly) into an individual through ME2. Also, as the Thanix proves, Reaper technology wasn't /that/ advanced.

And Joker has a grin on the face when he leaves the crashed ship, like your LI when she holds the name plate.

People who say EDI and the Geth die in destroy ending... are BioWare writers. No way around that if you accept Starchild.

The geth aren't shown so it's left to speculation but since EDI does die (her name appears on the memorial at any rate) it's not unreasonable to think that the geth are gone too. The one thing in favour of the geth is that they only have Reaper software, not hardware. Quite how a beam could single out specific software is beyond me but so are a lot of other things that Space Magic beams can do.

Just how dead EDI is is impossible to know. If the bluebox isn't the Reaper tech and her databases are intact then she may be recoverable. If either of those are fried then she's gone.

I do so hope EA does this ... because Mac Walters will absolutely HATE that (yes, I'm petty).

Although I'm afraid the writers will convince the suits to make a prequel instead (yawn).

Destroy dousn't descriminate between reaper code and non reaper code. All synthetic life means ALL. Anything smarter than a VI is toast ... Period.

How does it distinguish synthetic life from other complicated machines, especially when some of the synthetic life is purely software that can run on platforms previously only used for non-AI purposes (quarian suits)? The only explanation is more Space Magic unfortunately.

If the geth didn't die, 90% of people would pick destroy, as opposed to the 60ish% that do now

Space magic. It simply is. They are dead. Though BW could always retcon it in the future if they like.

I certainly would've picked it if not for that.
