It finally worked! Very excited to play this game on my new mac.
DA:O Ultimate for Mac installs fine, but no video - any ideas?

So glad I finally found this topic. Went through kernels and everything and the fix was right there. Thankyou.

Thank you for the fix for DA:O, it worked great.
Has anyone found a similar fix for DA II on Retina Macbooks? I'm having the same problem, I get audio when I start the game, but that's it.

A note that I solved this a little differently.
How to run Dragon Age 1
It doesn't like the Retina Display. First, use RDM (http://www.reddit.co..._resolution_to/) to change the resolution to something *non-HiDef*. Then go to DragonAge.ini in the Documents folder and set the following:
[VideoOptions]
FullScreen=1
ResolutionWidth=1440
ResolutionHeight=900
The game should work fine now and you can adjust the game resolution and settings from there. Note that you might have to launch RDM to set the rMBP graphics to non-HiDef each time you want to play.
How to run Dragon Age 2
It doesn't like the retina display, either, but it's not as picky as Dragon Age 1. Just use RDM to change the resolution to non-HiDef and then the game should work without having to play with the ini.
