You know, I have to say that I am shocked at the amount of bad reviews Dragon Age 2 got. It's actually a very good game, the only thing you need to see it as is NOT a sequel to Dragon Age Origins. It's got a great story but the gameplay is completely different and you can't compare it to the awesomness that was DAO. The best way to explain is how you can't compare Halo 3 ODST to other Halo games. It was an experiment in simpler gameplay, an experiment I believe actually worked. Granted I prefer and love the more advanced mechanics (such as ME's power synergies) but it certainly isn't a bad thing that it is simpler than DAO.
Gonna actually try Deus Ex tomorrow. I expect bigger things from this game then I did from DA2 (unlike DA2 it was a certain lack of money at the time that stopped me from buying it rather than a certain lack of good reviews)
Couldn't you kind of say the same thing about ME1 and ME2? They completly changed the gameplay and most of the RPG elements were gutted.

If they remake ME1 with the ME3 battle system... we'll have one of the best xbox 360 games ever Imho.
On a side note: I played BF3 single player career a couple of days ago. I can't believe that there's a game with a save system worse than ME1.

If they remake ME1 with the ME3 battle system but without the one button to rule them all... we'll have THE BEST xbox 360 games ever period, there is no arguing against it.
Fixed for ya Live.
Bech you could but it doesn't need to be said ME2 was the perfect formula, the combat system was simple yet had it's advances over the DA2 System, it's storyline was good when you consider the fact that everyone knew it would just be filler between ME1 and 2. It had a perfect amount of Character Development and best of all it actually lay ground work for what could have been a good ending (Dark Energy).
ME2 is my favourite game of the series, though as Live said, the only letdown for Mass Effect was it's horrible mechanics. It's story, character development and levellnig system was top notch but that goddamn save system and good for nothing combat system really ruined the replayability of the game for me.

The reason I thought Dragon Age II was disappointing didn't have anything to do with comparisons to Origins (I played DA2 first) or gameplay (again, I didn't have Origins gameplay to compare it with at the time, and I thought the gameplay was fine anyway). It was mostly due to how little actual interpersonal interaction Hawke has with his companions and really anyone else in Kirkwall (glaringly noticeable when going back to Origins), how poor Act III was and how little is actually resolved by the events of the climax and denoeument.
I didn't think it was a bad game really, but everything after Act II fell flat for me.
