Edited the color scheme, no need for a new site (only people reporting issues were mobile users). Check it out now and post in the suggestion box on there if you have something better, we don't need a whole new site for something that simple.

It's always better to have a dedicated website of which you can have perfect control and access.
Building a new website from scratch is fast (less than 30 minutes) and gives you a lot of advantages, for example you can manipulate the db's and create the users from the panel, so that they don't need to register.
In my experience the websites where you don't have this kind of control tend to become messed up after some time.
That platform may have evolved -I'm not sure- but it looks exactly the same as one i built 10 years ago, which is still online actually.
If you want to use a free forum the best choice is to choose one and install it yourself, trust me.
This is my opinion of course, as one of the field :)

Edit: another thing: the webspace is also free, there are a lot of good providers which give plenty of space and bandwidth.

I chose the registering on purpose since I am trying to keep the trolls
out. If everyone that has already signed up is willing to jump to a new
one I am fine with it, I just figured we already have sign ups and
everything, but I am game for whatever.

Also, Geekfest if you want to set it up I am good with that. I have no problem with it at all.

Maybe I used the wrong choice of words. I was saying that when you have access to the database -if you want- you can create users there, for example I can register the nick SlimJim, give it a password and send it to you. You won't need to go through the register page on the forum, you'll be ready to login without doing anything.
Also since you don't own the space -theoretically of course, doubt they'll do that- tomorrow they still can put in a giant banner or an annoying popup in every page.
99% of the times you're better off with a "personal" website.

Fair enough. I say Geekfest sets it up if he would like and I am more then happy to moderate. Whatever works best for everyone is fine with me.

That was a fun first round and I believe we did awesome for what we used. Plain Human Adept w/Hurricane? Not my usual cup of tea. Goooo Shockwave!

Excellent teamwork guys, that is what it's all about :o

Yeah, I couldn't ask for a better team, I had quite a bit of fun over the past week. Too bad we didn't do this earlier in the games life (for some of us anyway), but a helluva way to go out! Bring on round 2!

Nice time. You should have done one run with full weapons just to compare.

Not too interested in comparing TBH. I didn't want to use those weapons for a reason and my team liked the challenge we took on. We also would have had to do more runs and hoped for good objectives with the full weapons and just didn't have the time or desire to do so.

Thanks for the compliment though. We definitely could have had a sub 13 without the 2 tankbee missiles. but I am so proud of this group of guys and have enjoyed every game with them even when we didn't go for the tourney challenge.

I gotta say, my hat's off to you, Geek. Don't think I've ever played with you.. but that seems like a pretty amazing time. I'm really looking forward to seeing the strat you guys laid down for it. Oh, and cheers to my teammates.. I had a blast, despite some of the stuggles!

Great video. The level of people on this team is incredible.

Yes they are extremely good... nearly good enough to be part of the PC Gaming Master Race. But not quite.

Yes only a select few console peasants will ever have the chance to join the PC gaming master race.

AreleX could if he wanted to, but that's only because he's so much prettier than most console scrubs.

This is a tad long since I'm responding to three things to not triple post, but here goes.

Great!  Thanks for posting this Wyld Star.  That run was so much fun, and it was great getting to play with you.  I'm going to have show this off now.  Even though we ended up losing to Geekfest, I'm still very happy with this run.  I can't believe how well we all played to only have one person go down in the first ten waves, and then the one other of mine during extraction.  I never thought I'd be able to survive with a Fury on Gold like that before joining this group.  Coach, err, Snyper, you definitely got 100% out of my ability.

Which brings me to: a grand thank you to all the founders of this group and the players who keep the team and thread active here.  I never had half as much fun with this game as I did until I joined this group.  I'm just a little disappointed that I didn't join the group sooner.

Perhaps when the next DLC comes out, we could consider another tournament?  I know that despite my late entrance to this game and group that I'm getting a little bored with it, so I can imagine what some of you must feel about this game whom have been playing since launch or the demo.  Perhaps the DLC will rekindle my interest, and some of the rest of you as well.  Even losing was so much fun that I'd love to have another shot at competing with members of this group.  (Though I've grown rather attached to Team Snyper.)

rymoulton wrote...

Just watched the vid. We had a pretty
different layout on our starting positions. The difference was fewer
split spawns on the rocket waves. I'll be posting our walk through when
everyone's times are in.

At first I was bummed out that we lost to your team after so many runs (60? 70?), but now I'm actually rather eager to see your strategy for this.  Perhaps you could show it to me in game one of these days?  If you were managing double spawns most or all of the time, I bet you could've posted an even better run given how little time your team had together.  Even on our strategy we had a chance at a phenomenal time, but a few things went wrong.

Wow, thanks Shpoon.  It's rather flattering to get a compliment from a member of this group about a video that I was a part of.  The players in this group have helped my skills grow immensely to when I was running all PUGs without anyone willing to communicate.

They probably ascended to a new dimension (where developers actually make games for PC instead of just console ports) while you guys are stuck here on Earth paying your XBL fees. :innocent:
