We also need suggestions for our first couple events. We will start with a full team gold speedrun as a warm up as well as a gold duo. for the full team run we want some sort of a theme (4 krogan, volus, biotic death squad, melee etc...) and for the duo fewer restrictions maybe just map and enemy. Keep in mind whatever challenge we come up with we will probably run a few times so the less tedious the better.
With 9 per team we will probably change the challenges up faster so everyone isn't doing the same run for an entire week.

Also challenges with everyone using a certain weapon type (everyone using snipers for example) without allowing doubling up (except maybe on SMGs due to how relatively bad the majority of them are) would be quite fun.
Just two ideas. They might be a little too limiting though.

I am relatively new to the game, just broke into doing Gold with PUGS successfully. Not sure how well i'll be able to join games or host them though. I get the endless joining game prompt any time i've tried to play with friends.
Does anyone have a workaround for that?

What about weekends? Pretty sure Bechter's team will being doing the majority of their runs then.
My weekend hours are much the same as my weekday ones. Usually, I'm available from 10A-9P ish EST, but until the holidays are over it'll be more like 10A-7P EST. Sundays I'm not available at all because everyone usually piles over here to watch football.

I suggested to slim for the gold 4 man team only original characters (the 12 starter humans) and common weapons. No armored compartments but he said that nobody would go for it. Why do people dislike the challenge?

Tedious much? Gimping yourself like that is usually a test in frustration. It's tedious enough trying to get a good objective, due to RNG, even with top tier characters. Doing that with gimped setups would be horrible.

That might be really fun... And I kinda agree with the no armored compartments bit, as I'm not sure if everybody in this tournament has that available at LV5 already. (8 rockets ftw)
I would think so, but who knows.

but i mean were doing a tournement that most of us can solo in our sleep and everyone still wants to use the most OP stuff? In a game liek that it comes down to as you said it objective luck and a few seconds. In a gimped game, it becomes more about skill and teamwork then it does the objective.

lol i know i do, but in a tournement like this having 12 extra missles basically means wave 5,7,8,9,10 (after objective) will all be missile waves

No, it will just take longer. Think about it. Mooks will go down fast, regardless of what weapon you use. Then you have bosses, and that's where it becomes tedious. Instead of taking them down quickly and efficiently, you will stay in one spot grinding it for an hour.
And the game is not challenging to beging with, so what it really comes down to, is tedium vs. fun. I find gimped setups like that to be the former, especially when you also take objective rng into the equation. 10 runs with gimped setups, just to get that one good objective run? No, thank you.

evryone has their own opinion so i guess we just disagree on this, but is it really fun to blow through a game in 12 mins where everyhting dies as easy as it does on bronze when the game was meant to be around 25 mins or so each?
Sure it'll take longer but it doesn't mean its tedious. and if you cna't take an atlas down setting of BEs (human sentinal or adept) or tech explosions (human engineer) not to mention soldiers have adreline rush and grenades and infiltrators have sticky grenades. You shouldn't be that gimped at all. and lets not forget running the novaguard with a predator can be plaed as well as one running a novaguard and a paladin.

Where does it say how long the games are supposed to take? They take as long as the objective rng wills it, and on how skilled and well equiped the team is.
And that second argument has one huge hole in it. Everything you described can be done faster and better with better weapons. Most of those powers are there to compliment your weapons, not the other way around. Even Nova is there mainly for survivability and crowd control, unless you have a full biotic squad following you around. Even then, you would be much better off with a paladin than a predator.
Anywayz, I get it. You like gimped setups, and if thats your idea of fun, thats ok. I personaly dislike thats sort of stuff, especially if we are going for the fastest clear time possible. Like I said, speedruns are tedious enough with the objective rng factor, gimping yourself would make matters even worse.

I think that a themed run is better than arbitrary restrictions. A 4 krogan run sounds fun to me. An all raptor run does not.
Round 2 was my favorite round in the last tournament. I hated it at first, all Turians on Condor, but when it was done and in hindsight it was my favorite hands down.

I don't want it to be only speedruns personally, but I also don't care for Slayin's idea FWIW. Maybe if we limit guns to a certain type on say a Biotic run or something I am good with that since we will mainly be using powers anyways, but I don't want to take an Avenger wielding Human Soldier into a game since that would just bore me to use more than once.

The tournement is about having fun and playing with friends and to do somehting that is actually you know a challenge. lets all take GIs again and run around and do 12 min platinum runs and see who gets a 1 second better time tehn the other team due to a good objective. That doens't seem fun or challenging to me and it doens't make it a tournment as its too luck based anyway.
anyway the point is eveyrone in the tournement is too good of a player to be running around a gold with top tier stuff. it makes the game too easy IMO
