did you check the team arelex friends list. easy way to find people not on your list.

Thanks for the fun night usmc, nilk ninja and leiask. That two man run with those useless randoms was actually one of the most things I've ever done... not a bad time either considering... Time really flew by tonight (apparentally it's 5am )

Hi guys. Sorry, but I have a question. I like the N7 Paladin but I can't seem to figure how to make it work on Gold and Platinum. How do I spec the N7 Paladin for Gold/Platinum? I have been having a hard time with it on Gold. Also, do I run it with a Carnifex X or Pirahna?

I don't think there is a Platinum Build. A fate held by almost every class. Platinum seems to be about as much raw DPS as possible. That means getting the most powerful Shotgun and cranking the hell outta that DPS with sustained damage boosts...

As for Gold I've found speccing out of Incinerate and running a defensive Energy Drain (Radius, Drain, Armour Boost) and speccing Snap Freeze (not sure how I did it, think I went full damage,, though I haven't experimented much). For shield I went for Melee Damage (15% Health and Shields is barely noticable), Shield Durability and Fire Shield (damage over time works well, I'm sure either evo will do, some people argue that Cryo is better because it freezes Phantoms but... eh... little need to Freeze them when they are ragdolling away from you...). Specced N7 Paladin for Damage and Capacity, Power Damage and then Weapon Damage. Used a Piranha as my weapon.

The main strategy would be to get in close and use both the Shotgun and Shield to eff everythings sh- up as much as all possible. Snap  Freeze does decent damage and wallhacks (though it won't go through Guardian shield). Use Energy to restore your shields. You want to use Shredder Mod on the Piranha due to a complete lack of anyway to stagger Guardians to the point they expose themselves. Phantoms will be staggered by your shield and it is very fast and does do heavy melee-esque damage. The ground pound from actually blocking with the shield will do damage and stagger (not tested what enemies nor how much). The more fun playstyles involve whacking everything with a shield but remember you do only havfe about 938 Shields and even less Health so you will get shredded through when exposed to enemy fire. A quick draw of the Omni-Shields (do it early like Ops Survival Packs) can easily block enemy burst damage allowing either the activate of your own shieldgate or an opportunity to ED the target.

The following things break the shield: ATLAS rocket and ground pound. The Brute's charging swipe and the Banshee's Scream.
Untested things include the ATLAS' normal melee, the Brutes other melees and Ravager rockets.
The shield can tank almost everything else.
Insta-kills go through the shield.

This isn't too in-depth or is it well thought out but it does pull its weight on Gold... at least it would in the hand of a non-power maniacal player xD (I like to hit things) . There are probably about 3 ro 4 more viable builds but hey respec are almost impossible to get (odd given that they were dropping like flies when they were rare lol).

I will have to respec my Paladin as I did it wrong. I put 3 points in to incinerate for tech burst potential. And the final evolution for Energy Drain, I went the damage increase route instead of the 40% DR. No wonder my Paladin is so squishy on later waves in Gold.

I tried it with the Pirahna but an Atlas killed me with his cheezy homing missle. I dodge to behind a wall and the missle homed in on my butt. But I kinda liked the idea of a Pirahna and shredding things up close.

*facepalm* I honestly...I just can't even with my ISP any more. When the number of calls to one's cable company for assistance with a malfunctioning product starts entering the double digits over a period of only a couple months, one starts to wonder whether continuing to call and hoping the problem will actually get fixed this time is proof of insanity.
