Well, I've been playing ME3 from the start, but this has been my first dip into speed-running (I've never even done a "real" Glacier speedrun). I just wanted to put my two cents in and say that, no matter what might have been done differently, I've had a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who helped put this together and put in suggestions, even if they weren't used.
Except the guy who suggested Geth London. There is a special place in hell for people like you.  :P

Sorry that was me :pinched:. Your triple rocket "no kill anything" incident was well worth it. :D

i wonder how many missles got eaten by teh light pole between the middle ammo box by the crate and the spawn corner opposite side of the LZ? i know i shot one into the pole

Tournament? Forget that, BL2 has DLC.

Plus I hate you guys.

When you are out looking for a new job be sure to put the 20 headshot medal on your resume.

Was thinking about making a website all about me that I'd link to from my CV (resume, whatever), planning on using the picture of me with MY GOLD MEDAL as a background.

Make a real life gold replica and wear it around your neck, like Flava Flav.  It should also randomly play "BOOM, HEADSHOT!" lines from Pure Pwnage.

That's how I got my job.

I thought you got your job by putting those kneepads i got you to good use?

It's both.  The medal is motion activated.  wink wink Image IPB wink

Was just going to hand around business cards with a link to the GOLD MEDAL WINNING game. If I do this though employers will know that I'm a contender and will check the link out for sure, cheers Jack Image IPB

Okay, but just make sure your business cards have a picture of your hair.  It is the best hair on the BSN, for sure.  And don't forget to note your N7 ranking, manifest status, and availability to tell just one more "The Shepard" story.  This creates an instant personal connection between their face and your ePeen.

Lastly, adding a little bit of color (just pale hues, nothing flashy) to your cards will subconsciously keep you in the front of the interviewer(s) mind(s).  According to my last Psych class, positive first impressions can often be forced by the colors red, blue and green.

Good Luck & Cheers, mate!

A few. Our fearless leader had to take over for us scrubs to see if he could get a missile in there as well. The results were pretty hilarious.

Haha, he didn't even make the light pole...

Of course my three weren't any better. Missile, stun, dead, gel, missile, stun, dead, gel, missile, stun, dead, gel, both Primes already killed by conventional means.

This comp has been a flop from the start from my perspective. Fun trios and duos at least. To answer your question we did three trio runs so far no sniper games we may have been playing the wrong game after the trios.left 4 dead if anyone hasn't played/heard of it buy it great game.

Speak for yourself because I know my team has enjoyed the tournament. I have had participation from all members of my team (which has required some work). I have also seen positive posts from other competitors in the competition. Don't think we need that kind of negativity here. I wouldn't mind some constructive criticism about the tournament but saying "it's been a flop from the start" does nothing to help correct any issues. It's going to be impossible to please everyone but think Geekfest has done a fine job putting on a unique and creative tournament.

I agree 100% with you Bechter. This is my first taste of speedrunning and it really has been fun and entertaining to see strategies come together. Plus, the fact is I have met a lot of really cool people along the way. Even that total scrub FlashAK.

I fine with your giving your perspective on the tournament but you failed to give any insight on why you feel this way. It came off to me as you feeling the tournament was handled poorly by the people putting it together. Your feedback would be helpful to us addressing any issues.

so many one being how you came in the party being aggressive like you are being now forcing everyone's hand how the sniper challenge should run.i didn't attack anybody when I posted first I'd appreciate you treat me accordingly.

it's not anyone particular thing I know you've tried mate and I appreciate that. Everyone I've spoken to has the same consensus. It's a shame  and iam just being honest about it I'm sorry it's not positive but it's the truth. Disclaimer I do not speak for everyone.

I'm done worrying about it. It is impossible to please everyone and I hope the remaining challenges are more enjoyable.

I am happy to see the feedback from those that are new to these kinds of challenges. There are a lot of new players in the group that have never tried this sort of thing before and from their posts they are enjoying it.

We have an awesome group and I look forward to going after the remaining platinum records and other challenges with those still interested when the tourney is over.

Well, I'm having fun with it. I love the game, but it probably has a lot to do with the group I'm in, too. We all seem to laugh as much as we shoot stuff.

Anyway, I appreciate the time you have put in, Geek (as well as the other captains). I'm sure this took up more of your time than anyone else's. Great job with this tourney.

I'm with Bechter too. The tournament has been great, even if I've had to hold
Hamiltoe's hand every time anything even looked in his direction.

You know all the good times? Great synergy between your team, perfected waves and tactics. Good clear times and the pride that comes in having the best time especially when you dedicate a ton of time to that goal... Ok nevermind, I will just cut straight to the point.

After the last tournament of countless speedruns and great times on several maps ( Goddess still stands?! ), I am burnt out. It's only so much fun anymore to devise a strategy based on *conditions* and try to get the best time. If this tournament was instead about which team could come up with NEW world records for map times on Gold, that would still be fun as there would be no conditions. Just do your best.

I wish this tournament was slightly different and not wholly speedrunning. Points challenges or even level 1's Plat would have caught my attention more especially with all the talented and cool people in Team AreleX.

This tournament is great and well put together, I just want everyone to share my point of view and know that not everyone ( after ALL the speedruns in the last year ) is having complete fun. With that said, Jim leaving and a night to think after a 11 hour, 9th day of work... I am bowing out. Even if I could squeeze in the time for a few last runs with Papa, Blade and Gollum... I just can't polish the rust off the sniper rifle, you know?

I'm always up for some games otherwise, when I am on. Glad to know you all, sincerely.

Edit: Got some convenient runs in, which is about as much as I can do anymore. Hope our times are half-decent.

I have to say that I found this tourney overall much better structured than the last and overall much more fun, although of course part of that is the group I run with. In particular allowing teams to compete throughout instead of single elimination and mixing in duos and trios have been great. Of course we could have done other types of runs but that's what the next tournament is for! Thanks especially to Geek for pulling all this together and my teammates for providing consistent hilarity whether intentional or not.

And for those that are feeling burned out - take a break and come back when it's fun for you (hopefully after the tournament is over...). Life's too short ;-)

I thought this tourny was just fine, I didn't expect to play in it a whole lot but I'm fine with whatever. Gave me reason to play this game a lot more after taking a break. And as I told betcher, once we finish this, I'm down to tackle all the current speed run records and smash them :)

Got about a month until metal gear comes out so until then, but I'm sure ill play here and there after that anyway. I also mentioned possibly running another more quick mini tourny after this. A little more interesting, not hardcore speed runs. Idk I doubt a lot of people would be interested seeing as a lot are already burnt out lol.

Team Moral High Ground is done with their sniper challenge.  Envy our time.  Also, credit for 20 headshots goes to Tatty and The Real Tatty since they were in my xbox live party while this happened.

We might as well give up on the sniper challenge. Looks like Team Moral High Ground is taking this round with Team Eagle Haters as a close second.
