Best Strategy award goes to UC Gollum. While everyone else was doing the same thing we always have done what you did on Glacier was pretty creative.

The MVP of the tournament goes to RNC007. He was involved in many of the first and second place runs and stayed up much later than usual to be on with his team.

Not to mention his Cryo Blast strategy was invaluable to team morale! ;)

Thanks to everyone who participated. This was my first time doing any sort of structured speedrunning and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole tournament. Special thanks to Geek Fest for organizing the whole thing and extra special thanks to my teammates for the wins and all the laughs. NaNaNa Boo Boo is too OP and should be nerfed.

i'd like to take this time to thank my loving family for all their support...

Nah, who am I kidding, my daughter will be in therapy for years because of this tournament and I'll likely be homeless and working with Jack Crapper to come up with the next great Korean dance craze. Gee thanks everyone...

On a serious note, I'd like to nominate the Reverend for best connection ever. His constant disconnections made us play every game like it was our last.

the one cool thing i did like, was i got to play with some new people. I had only played with 2 people on my team before this (crusader and geekfest) but i got some game sin with irish, deafmedal, and flash during this. and i think a couple with red blitz too

Me as well I had only played with JackCrapper and RNC before the tourney for only a brief period. I found some really great players and cooler individuals.

This Red Blitz fellow sounds like an utter noob.

Aside, we didn't play once at all in the tournament Upinya; party chat yes, game chat no. :|

I agree. Only person I ever ran with was Flash before this. I got in games with Crusader, Geek, Irish, Deaf, Bosster, and Red. All of whom were really cool. I know we all have our normal group we roll with, but it was nice to team up with others.

Congrats to Bechter and his team. You guys put up some amazing times. And thanks to Geek for putting this on, will definitely be looking forward to the next one.

yeah, i heard you dind't want to do some of the team runs, and i didn't do any trio's or duos. I just lost alot of interets in this game. I had to will myself through it all. I think alot of people felt the same way and if we were all in on it we could have posted up some much better times.

Red you hurt his feelings. Bechter has painful memories from when he was younger and nobody wanted to play with him.

Congrats to Bechter and Co. for the win. Every time we thought we had a great strategy and time, you managed to beat us pretty much every time. It was a well deserved win (Bring on the trash talk, Stik. I know you've been waiting to rub it in).

Wish I was around to participate in the final round, but I did my part as a guinea pig to test out different strategies for the platinum run. It was great to get some games in with a few players I never really got a chance to play with like deaf, crusader and slayin.

Kudos to Geek Fest and anyone else that had a hand in organizing this. The tournament helped to keep a game in dire need of some new DLC fresh for at least a few weeks. Looking forward to the next tournament and/or helping to tackle any of the other map records.

This was the tl:dr version.

Lol crusader did write some novels during this.
Apparentle he didn't know the 1st "S" in "SMS" stands for short

Apparently I was subconsciously still holding myself to writing at least 1500 words per day.  I probably shouldn't have been typing the entire Ghost strategy and division of labor on the challenges when I was so tired.  A paragraph or two could have been excised due to redundancy.  At least Our Dear Leader had the patience to read it.

Crusader's tl;dr versions needed their own tl;dr version. No joke, the one time Crusader actually bothered to write up a tl;dr version, it ended up being longer than the original post.

Did the Ghost strategy end up working out? I thought the missile strategy came together quite well.

It worked well enough, we kept getting screwed on objectives. I still think we should have had a little more power synergy to help wipe out the trash quicker (read:arc grenades lol). Wave 4 and 7 seemed to take the longest due to odd splits... but when they clicked it was great.

Wish I didn't have to work today so I coulda stayed up later last night to try and shave some more time off.

Did you guys ever try a run with 3 DIs and QMI? I think we discussed that combination at one point. Seemed like setting up RMs at spawns and choke points with some arc grenades could have helped clean up a few trash waves.

Nah we didn't, we tried 3 DI's and a TGI, I think... I think Irish was most comfortable with TGI for this run and he was running extraction with me (GI, which I preferred). My main issue with DI and MQI is the timing, I forget that I have to break cloak by shooting some times... Fine for normal runs, horrible on speed runs. I don't think an arc grenade touched Ghost while I was playing :(

We need to get a group together soon and do some platinum runs like old times. I can play some tomorrow night then I'm away for a week. But when I'm back I'll be around.

Looks like I may be around tonight. Was considering going to a bonfire a friend invited me to, but I think I am coming down with something and don't want to risk spreading anything.
