Because although speedruns are big and clever there's plenty of other ways to have fun.  We've been taking ideas from the almost forgotten challenge discussion thread and there's a few more we'll be attempting.  I'd definitely recommend trying some runs like this, grab a few people from the group and see what you can manage.  Will be looking for more interesting and fun things to do so feel free to make some suggestions.

The video is kinda long and not always interesting, the times for the objective waves are in the description if you want to just catch some highlights.

you should start calling these guides for telling when players arnt used to running extraction rounds.

Good games to tatty, SlimJim (sorry man, it's past midnight here so... ), navi, tigz and defleshing. Possible the only session I've ever had that was degressive but it was fun as hell. How is it even possible to go from 12 minute runs to a goddamn 25 minute one lol.

Navi you have to understand that logic goes out the window with speedruns, all you need to be doing is as much damage as possible, you can't do that damage if you're medi-gelling someone or if you're waiting to be medi-gel. Sure sometimes it backfires but most the time during true speedruns you won't need medi-gel from 5-10 due to rocketting heavily (you might wanna keep one for Extraction though).

Thanks to all of you, and SlimJim too.  I was so tired that I probably would have been better off sleeping rather than playing but we didn't do bad.  Also I've had a pretty rough day and was feeling pretty low but some good games this evening has really cheered me up, sweet as.

If anyone is interested in teaching this complete newbie to Gold speed runs a thing or two, I'm going to start a lobby in the next 10 minutes (and warm up on Glacier). GT is Crusader4Reason. Hope to see some of you there, and look forward to learning from some pros. I just finished reading TankBee's guide, so I have the basics in mind.

Edit: I'll be on for the next 2 hours or so.

I would, but just started Gears 3 with a friend. I probably won't catch you tonight, but will be on a bunch tomorrow to find a new shotgun to run with after Pirahna nerf tomorrow.

Great!  I'm all warmed up, and sitting in a lobby now.

Edit: My thanks to TidalLeaf for showing me the basics of speed running and to the founders of Team Arelex for giving me the opportunity to meet such a great player!  Even with just the two of us, I had my best Gold experience, and shaved off 8 minutes or so off my best time.  I look forward to having a full lobby from Team Arelex in the future!

You won't run if you don't have a mic? OK... that's the weirdest logic as there are ways around such communication downs (though it does take a bit of a repoire with your partner in crime).
