What the what.. Any new news about said tourney. If I may offer a couple suggestions to run idk how you guys are working that but take a glance at these-

I'm assuming the difficulty is going to be gold.
So-
1- common weapons only, any character, attachment, etc.
2- uncommons...etc.^
3- biotics only, I would say no shots fired but that may be to much.
4- drell only
5- pistols only
6- Smg only.

Just some ideas..I wanted to share if you wish to consider, they would be fun.

I was there. BTE's first was was a 19 minute gold speedrun, with usmc spending at least 5 minutes teaching him the basics. Next run we did in 13 minutes. That must be some kind of record for a second run, made possible only by BTE's pure awesomeness.

i am a legend on every part of glacier, my sons. i do some of my best work on the balcony, though. as for comparing me to bechter, well...you all know the genuine article when you see it, you won't be fooled by a pretender to the throne.



tournament hint? sure. i'll say that everyone better get as much char and map and weapon practice as they can. don't go in only knowing how to run piranha gi/qmi on glacier and thinking you'll win easy, you'll be surprised...

I got my starter balcony tips from you. Now I turn to the kings of the balcony for my advanced lessons.

Edit: Kidding of course AreleX, you gave me tons of very good advice. I wouldn't be nearly where I am in speed runs if it weren't for playing with you for like the entire day I did.

no soldiers or infiltrators would be fun. also promotional weapons only would be amusing. crusader and valiant speed runs lol. looking forward to whatever fresh hell you guys are plotting.

That would be brutal. My Valiant and Crusader are only at level 1.

It would be better to go with a common weapons/classes/mods only tournament. Then, you will see a bunch of Human Soldiers with Avenger X running around in Platinum...

Or a Human Vanguard with Katana X and Avenger X getting hammered by an Atlas in Platinum...

Great meeting you, Slimjim!  And my great thanks to you, Bechter, Grumpamen, Geekfest, USMC Snyper, and a couple of others whom I also met last night.  This is an awesome group.  Playing with you guys has been my best online experience ever.  I look forward to improving my skils and times.  I can't believe I actually got to play with Bechter, a legend of the 10:09 World Record team.

It was a bit like information overload there for me having never played with a full squad that was communicating on a speed run before.  I'll look forward to beating that 13:14 time we had in just my fourth Platinum game ever.  I definitely have a lot to work on.

My favorite moment of the night was when Bechter was running the basement with me in one of our last games and it was a 1-2-3-4 team rocket of Wave 8 spawns, ending in something like fifteen seconds and I said incredulously: "Wow!  It's over?!"  And Bechter said something to the effect of: "Yes, that's what it should be like every missile wave on a speed run."  It was awesome glimpsing in-game what a great speed run is like (even if it was just that one wave. I'm eager to improve to hopefully be able to grace that level of excellence on a regular basis.

It's an honor to play with you guys.  I appreciate all of your patience (especially Bechter for continually pointing out where I could improve), and I encourage anyone who is lurking on the thread to join the group--there are many excellent and incredibly skilled teachers here who are more than willing to help players elevate their game, be it tips on builds, use of consumables, spawn points, or the various roles during speed runs.

It's easy with such good students. You did great for your first Platinun runs of any kind. You are the sleeper of the AreleX Fantasy Draft!

ill be alittle disappointed if there isn't atleast a ballsac eagle event.
