I would love to take part, but am in the middle of a lot of real life stuff including a cross-country move and starting a master's program, so I wouldn't want to commit and not be able to do everything.

Also, I'm playing lobby choice gold games at the moment, and have space for one more, would be okay with a few plat ones too.

I'd like to make a suggestion for the fantasy draft. Since there are quite a few players signing up and hopefully more to come I would like to know an official list of the captains. Even if I do end up as one, I think it would help a great deal for the captains to be able to get games in with the draft potentials so we can get an idea for who we would like to take (some players just may not click with others or have good enough connections to others).

I know there is already a draft list, but if I am a draft member instead of a captain I would want to play as many games with captains as I can to try and get a good fit as well as try to impress them for a higher draft spot. Some of the members in the draft I rarely if ever see posting in here looking for matches and without knowing who is looking it can be difficult to get games in with newer members, especially when the veterans of the group are often posting looking and don't get responses from anyone other than other veterans.

Also, I would really like to urge players to post in the main topic here when they are looking for people to play with. I know I personally don't look at the group thread too often for times people play since it is difficult to search over 150 player's times when you are trying to get even just 1 or 2, It would be nice to get at least a couple games in with everyone and even when looking at both Team AreleX gamertags many people are in matches and sending invites can often get ignored.

Sadly I find that this is the biggest problem with the group. Too many members are either:

A) Comfortable with only a couple of players and don't venture out. I post pretty often when I am searching and usually I get responses from the same group of around 10 or so members.

Afraid to speak up because they don't feel they can contribute. I know I would personally be fine with taking a couple of wipes if need be to try and help some members learn how to do the runs. If I have one or two of the other veteran players with me it is even better since all of us can give tips and you can see how every position is run by players.

C) Just waiting on a group to invite them. If you do not post that you are searching how will you play with anyone? I often see many players from both Team AreleX gamertags on ME, but many of them are already in matches so I do not invite them.

I know this tournament is a push to get players to venture out of their comfort zones with both groups and weapons/characters and I am excited for it. I would just like to see more members do this on their own without our "leaders" needing to set something up to get it to happen. I know USMCSnyper can attest to this as he sent out tons of invites the other night and only a few of us were willing to join. Bechter has had members that don't accept because they do not know who he is. So when we have our veterans/teachers sending out invites with little to no luck on getting a game with someone new then there is a bit of a problem IMO.

Well I know I am personally done for the night tonight, but I would be glad to invite you to game within the next couple of days. Any of the teachers in the group are doing it because we enjoy it and because we would like to help others improve. I can't duo a platinum, but I would be glad to show you what I have learned for gold and just start with the basics. I started off basement rushing (which has also changed since I started), but pretty much every position is fairly easy to learn the original way and do advance tactics after you are comfortable.

There is also a guide in the group from Tankbee which would likely help you out with getting an understanding of things. Be sure to check it out and you will probably be more prepared for it then you think. We had a fairly new member the other day say he had read a bunch of the guides and he did very well in his first few platinum matches and was able to take in some advanced tactics that Bechter gave us. I know I felt a bit overwhelmed when I first joined up and now I am comfortable enough after running with players like AreleX, Bechter, Relix, Tatty, milk ninja, etc. that I can contribute to teaching as well.

Edit: Keep posting in the thread when you are searching. State that you are new to speed runs and are searching for a teacher. Look at the teacher section in the actual group as well and message some of us. With so many members we have no way of knowing if anyone has been able to help you learn or if you need extra help even if you don't tell us. This also goes out to all of the members, not just you Fried.

From what captains have signed up (Bech, AreleX, Tatty) and from who I am guessing will end up being captains (Milk Ninja, Gollum and RELIX). I have played with and am very comfortable with all of them. I know I probably won't be first pick for obvious past transgressions for most of the captains (I know we did move past it but I'm sure they are now more comfortable with others).

All I know is that I'm a decent player, though I will probably end up hampering the team I'm on when it comes to any runs involving the Slayer and Fury on Platinum . Might as well be honest you know...

Also I bet Bob the Elcor is AreleX's first pick

EDIT Well I have just woke up and have absolutely nothing to do, anyone on?

you should never be worried about branching out. as far as i see it this group was founded by good players looking to help other become better. so your chances of finding one of the groups regulars not willing to help or carry is slim to none.sorry we havnt played yet especially since i encouraged you to join but as i have said before when i get home is about the time everyone hops off. i did manage to get a couple of games in with your friend you sent my way. either way i havnt really played with anyone from the group that wasn't easy to geta long with regardless of experience or skill level.

really this group holds the record. you won't find better speed runners on any other platform.

A little shocking you didn't know that since this is often a first page topic and I see you posting pretty frequently. Also some of the members have posted the 2 fastest recorded times for Platinum and the fastest for Gold Cerberus and Geth.

I recall you being a fairly skilled player from the "operation carry" deals where we were helping players beat the reaper/gold challenge for commendation packs. You would be a welcomed addition if you would like to join, we do many different types of run and have some of the best Xbox players around.

Man just went into a public game and my god his connection was horrible. Every 20 seconds or something the entire game froze (like when the host is disconnected and everyone is wondering around like a douchebag xD) and then suddenly when things resumed EVERYTHING had changed. It was hilarious but it got me killed once or twice... Anyways got in abit of training with the Turian Sentinel, Revenant and Tempest, not sure if that's gonna do any good but is nice to be using classes I often forget.

It'd be fun, but my speedrunning days are behind me now. I don't play to often since I started branching out to other games. Once Fall of Cybertron comes out, I'll probably cut my playtime down to nothing, or at the most Operation weekends. It's a tempting offer, but I don't enjoy the game as much as I used to. Especially with the servers being wonky this last week.

I look foward to see Arlex score a less than ten minute speedrun. It's impressive you guys got it down to ten. 13:36 was the best some friends and I could manage.

We do plenty of for fun runs as well. All Vorcha Flamer only on Gold, all Fury on White Platinum, all Asari on Goddess Platinum, etc.

I know I will be cutting back myself when Borderlands 2 hits myself, but until then I there is a very good group of players in here and if by some chance Borderlands 2 disappoints I am sure there will still be a decent sized group from here. The offer will still stand as this group is very accepting, so keep it in mind if you ever decide to reconsider.

To Relix, Tidal and AreleX I can say that last night we may have had some of the least enjoyable games ever.  But the fun and banter in the lobby more than made up for it, I love you guys.  And thanks as well to Snyper for the earlier games.

Seem to have sorted the editing and rendering problems I've been having so I should have the videos up quicker in future.  

I haven't had a chance to acutally watch this video yet so I hope the finished product is okay in terms of sound and quality, trapped at work so no youtube.

It's only due to Team AreleX I still play at all, Bugs, cheap game mechanics and rather stale content (new maps are already boring, that damn Escort drone is just begging me to smash my face against a wall, same three enemies since Launch, overload of weapons BioWare will inevitably nerf...).

BioWare really need to do something to keep fans interested because it's getting to that time of the year when all things awesome are getting released. Darksiders 2, Borderlands 2, Big Bang Theory, The Walking Dead. The Walking Dead The Game, The Walking Dead The Other Game, Spartacus War of the Damned, Being Human, Misfits, How I Met Your Mother. Not to mention I still enjoy Skyrim and Assassin's Creed and I've probably forgotten three or four games... That's alot of awesome to squeeze into what time I will have (I have College coming up next month so pretty much I'll likely only have one, two or three hours a day to myself...)

So yeah I'm just thinking what time I do get to relax is better spent elsewhere...

I'll be on borderlands 2 toio but it isn't gonna kill my ME3 time. I still haevn't even played dawnguard and i love skyrim. I love all TES games since morrowind. I have a DVR for my walking dead, each episode is only like 2 hours long etc etc.

My problem is with College coming up. Over the last two monthsI didn't care too much for disrupting my sleep cycles or skipping a shower or two in order to play more games. I had 24 hours to do whatever the f*ck I wanted to. With College not only is my day already cut down by 8 hours but I also need to sleep in order to perform at my best, I also do need to shower everyday (the days I didn't shower over the holidays were solely when I wasnt' doing anything at all...)

This means anywhere from 14-18 hours will be taken up simply by College life. This is ignoring the hours of studying I will need to do, I can't procrastinate and expect myself to come out of College with an A in Physics like I did in school.

So basically I'm thinking that what free time I will have to myself is better spent on games I enjoy for the game itself and not for the community, you guys are awesome but Mass Effect 3 is just too damn boring. I need something inside this multiplayer to keep me interested... I'm just hoping BioWare supplies that thing because the game is good, it was fun...

Between games, tv shows and YouTube I don't see much space inbetween to play a game I don't really enjoy...
