This fight is hilariously easy. Did it on Insanity with an Infiltrator and a Sentinel, without the Spitfires.
If you're a Vanguard then you should be able to Nova cancel indefinitely for invincibility frames. Their shields come off pretty easily if you and your squadmates focus fire on one Prime, then switch to Incendiary rounds and burn the armor.

This has been said, but Primes can be hacked, but something that may or may not help you for another playthrough is that the Atlas units can also be hacked (not sure if they can be hacked with their shields up as their shields usually drop too fast for me to really tell). Note that it does not last long, probably due to the pilot inside lol.
Back to the Primes though, like Capn233 suggested, I also run off to the right to try and get some semblence of cover, position my squadmates behind that cover, Tali's drone is invaluble, mine as well (I play as an Engineer) and the four drones really wittle them down.
Or if worse comes to worse, you can do something similiar that I did with my Sentinal and biotic explosion them to death with Liara setting them up with Warp.

Soldiers tactics:
- You wanna bring weapon which can put down fire hard and fast. High level Revenant or Falcon is decent.
- Strip their shields using Tali and then deploy a drone to distract em. Bring along another hard hitter to take deal damage fast. Ashley or Vega are decent in this regard.
- Focus fire on one unit and then move onto the next. Don't be afraid to change positions so that you're dealing with em one and at a time.

I kept two of them hacked while shooting away at the third. Infiltrator + Tali.
That way you only need cover against one of them, and he's being battered on from two sides.

I just use the Spitfires. There are just enough of them around to finish these guys off.

I just did this mission on insanity last night with my infiltrator, but I previously have done it twice with a vanguard. Here are some tips for doing it.
1) As soon as the door open, zoom in and bring up the power menu.
2) Target the prime directly ahead, set Tali to sabotage (you did spec it fully, right?)
3) Run forward and grab the spitfire (it is on the cover in front of you)
4) Stay at this position, as your right side is covered, and shoot the spitfire at the sabotaged prime until almost dead (1 or 2 bars left), then charge/nova to take him out.
5) Bring up the power menu, find the next visible prime, sabotage it. The primes will attack each other. Set your squad to attack the unsabotaged prime (They won't go after the sabotaged one) while you blast the sabotaged on with the spitfire.
6) Mop up the last prime.
As a Vanguard, ANY time your shields go down, charge. Primes do not have an insta-kill, so feel free to get up close and personal.
Note: If you are playing an infiltrator, your priority target is their command drone, it can see through your cloak.
