To me Ser Gilmore was just another "soldier" in the service of the lord. Dutiful, I'll give him that and brave enough since he knew what he'll die but that didn't make him run, instead he still "held the fort" so to say. Makes you respect such a person but then again, I'd assume that the lord of that high standing as Teyrn Cousland would only hire the best of the best. And, well, being a male his "copper hair and green eyes" had no meaning to me of any kind...
Whom I do somewhat miss, or feel that the story is unfinished, is "sweet Iona". First the whole thing was done incorrectly, Bioware seem to be not aware that in situations like that, where the Iona and player char were, if there would be a commotion in the hallway which would need to be checked out then the female would never just jump out of the bed and go to check it, in her "unmentionables" to boot (and even without them if someone uses such a mod). People were more... "tactful" may be the word and it was considered rude if a man would allow a female to be seen like so. Man would have been expected to protect the "decency" of his companion and checked it out himself. Or call a servant to check it out. Heck he even had a dog in his room and by all and every indication it was clear that it wasn't some "innocent rumbling" going on out there. What a "real man" of ye olde times, so to say, would have done in such situation would be to arm and armor himself fast, make sure that his companion is out of direct harms way and check the situation himself. Send the dog out first in that particular case and then go after it.
Anyway, what I feel was unfinished there is that if you spoke with Iona, you learned about her daughter and later you can actually see and meet her and.. you can't do anything at all! Not really speak with the daughter, not help her in any way, nothing. How lame is that? Bioware really left that particular thing hang in the air.. Now if someone could bring some closure to this story too then that would be great.
But, speaking of Ser Gilmore then the mod itself is nice. And definitely not an easy thing to do so kudos for taking it up and hope that you will finish it soon and it'll be just the way you want it. Good thing is that this will also allow then, for example, "bring back" some other chars too who by default have been sort of lost in an unclear way and thus, theoretically, may still be around

Ow, I don't know Whailor, I don't see why Iona couldn't go to investigate. In a number of occasions I did so myself in my own home. :-p I don't think Ferelden resembles the middle ages socially speaking (in terms of what's expected from a man and a woman) so you can't really make that comparison.
Also, why assume she was going to investigate? Maybe she went out to get back to her room, got wounded and came back in, just to die on the floor near your bed. I mean, there are countless possibilities.
And finally, why would you be able to talk to her daughter anyways? The castle is in complete disarray, people are dying all over, running, screaming, things are burning, stones from the roof and walls falling, everything's confusion. I think it's highly improbable that you could ever see the girl, if she was ever in the castle in the first place... it could be nice to find the girl later in game, however, somewhere... somehow. :-)
About Gilmore, the day before yesterday I found a note in the toolset from Bioware that said that Gimore was "your friend", he was not a "mere soldier" to you. :-)
He was not hired either. He was sent to squire at age 11 or 12 (insight from David Gaider) to become a knight (which is already more than a soldier), and I guess that's the reason he's so loyal to the family. He was raised to be! :-)

Actually Iona's daughter is in elven alienage in Denerim, sitting in front of a puddle, on dirt pile, wondering why her mother still hasn't returned from Highever. As for Iona then she said she'll check out what's the commotion about, don't think she'd also go into her room, through the hallways, wearing just her "unmentionables" as Morrigan put it
But, regarding your mod then again, I wish you all the best and hope it'll work out as you plan, I definitely plan to check it out once it's released, since I like additional chars who are well thought through and bring additional content and story to the party

Oh, yesh, uhm, I guess you definitely noticed I've never talked to the woman... :-/
Definitely sucks if the girl is in the Alienage and you can't tell her anything! Hopefully, at some point somebody will make a mod to tie these loose ends. :-)

hydrorox: Oh, how I wish I could say "tomorrow", ha ha ha! ;-) but no, still a while.
Arrtis: Yes, his name is Roland ("Rory" for short), but that never got implemented into the game, David Gaider had those facts in some notes he made and was kind to share. :-)

If they could pull it off using Gorim's actual voice, I could die happy.
You are aware that Gorim and Oghren were both voiced by Steve Blum, are you not?

I could positively kiss your feet for this! lol When I played the game the very first time I had hoped beyond hope that Ser Gilmore would somehow have escaped the slaughter at Castle Cousland and show up to join your party somewhere. Thank you VERY much for making this possible - I LOVE you. Now, I'm afraid, it's good-bye Alistair for me, my childhood friend will have my girl in the end.
You are brilliant! lol

I just want to say it takes a modder dedication to create an entire new NPC for the game, AND write complete dialogue trees for him/her.
BTW is Gilmore voiced or unvoiced? Just curious. Kudos for doing this.

Torilund is recording voice overs with a guy who was kind enough to lend his voice for 1800 lines. Lots of work, and they are trying to do it in perfection, and I really hope people understand to appreciate it when it is finished. But: try the mod even he is not voiced yet. The VO will be a separate download, and he is a great guy even without voice.

Wolf: There is no voice over yet, witch you would know if you would have any interest to read the description. Or red like...3 posts above. There will be voice over soon enough.

I did download your mod, but my current computer system did not like it.
However, my new system will be here on Wednesday. Lots of speed, RAM, etc. So I will definitely be in Gilmore heaven by Saturday!
Please keep us updated on the voice acting file.

Okay, then here you go, this is the update on the VO.... ;-)
"Ahh, some major nice news!
All the interjections are recorded, FaceFX'd and etc. They're so damned good!
The initiated convos dlg is also recorded, FaceFX'd and etc. :-D
The major dlg, which is around 1230 lines long is well underway (509 lines recorded). :-D
And the sound set is not started, it's around 150ish lines.
I'd like to thank Tori and Jay for recording, editing, going to bed late, re-recording when I think a line needs to be changed to sound differently, re-record yet again if I need a change in a line and overall put up with my requests. Also for being so perfectionist 99,9% of the lines they send are so damned perfect it almost makes my head "asplode".
I can say my favourites are when Rory is über pissed (the ones where the PC lets Alistair die, omg, or when the PC does so many bad deeds Rory screams), and I'll recommend you guys to play the fade at least once with Rory, because the recordings of his nightmare are so damned good! Also, make him pissed if you will, just to hear Rory getting angry. Jay is great. X-D
Anyways, this is a big thank you for Tori and Jay :-D
Now, I also want to thank TaHol, who is playing the mod for the 1000000th time with a private B5 which is half voiced and has all the fixes (that are all hopefully working).
I don't know what this mod would be without her testings and zillion reports, and all the help she gives to solve them.
And finally, thank YOU for playing this mod, for all your reports and comments that help to make it better.
Alright. That was it. :-)"
And finally... Voice over sample files!!! Rory is super pissed (last file in the list, of course ;-))
