Eh, I can agree with the sentiment, but I think the portrayal of the rejection ending has more to do with how BW took it than what Shepard did or didn't do.

Again, completely agreed. I agree with the "It's a big middle finger" sentiment.

Genocide, Eugenics, Slavery, or [Principle].

Take your pick.

Fix'd.  It takes a lot of guts to stick to your guns and live or die by the principles of a people that would be free.  It would be a lot easier and a lot less courageous to just give in and do what the Starkid wants.

Look, man. I completely agree with you.

But the way Shepard goes out is cowardice, plain and simple. No rallying cry, no final remarks. Just... silence.

I... don't know.

Long time no see,Era!

The Refuseal ending is nothing more than BW being children. "Oh boo hoo it's your fault the ending sucked not ours! TAKE THIS FANBASE!"

Destroy: The practical choice, although synthetic genocide isn't to my liking and makes it far more bitter than sweet.

Control: If Shepard was in prison, the Reapers would be his b*tches. A worthy sacrifice.

Synthesis: What can I say, people on acid needed an ending as well. Forced changes aside, also a worthy sacrifice. xD

Refuse: Shepard just derped. A moronic sacrifice.

Control: Very heroic and sacrificial, and shepard still lives on, in a way. He continues to watch over his friends, allies, and the rest of the galaxy as their guardian. Tear worthy.

Synthesis: A small sacrifice to build understanding throughout the galaxy. EDI's dialogue was fantastically done- and the hug at the memorial wall was so sad. Tear worthy.

Destroy: Destroy synthetics to survive, no matter what the cost- even if it means giving up EDI, and the Geth. Sad, but not as sad as the others. Shepard survives, yayyy

Refuse: Even the galaxy united cannot defeat the reapers.... Refusing to use the crucible because the consequences may be too much... At least Liara's time capsule provides useful information for the next cycle, and they are victorious, it seems. Only sad when Liara says the galaxy's forces could not win. Otherwise it's kind of 'eh.'

The Extended Cut endings were very satisfying, and I recommend watching them all once.

Destroy: The overall best choice. The reapers are gone for good, and the current cycle is free to pursue a future of their own making. Yes, the Geth are destroyed for good, but the loss of one non-organic race > the loss of all galactic species.

Control: Too risky. The reapers may be stopped, but for how long? Will this new "Shepard" deteriorate? Will it eventually revert back to pre-ME3 behaviors and tendencies due to an error in logic or programming? All in all, too risky to go through with.

Synthesis: Way to absurd for me to consider, sorry.

Reject: A nice option to include, but irresponsible. Shepard may believe in doing the "right thing" by rejecting the catalyst, but his actions and beliefs are basically enabling the death of trillions of innocent people.

Synthesis:  The heavy-handed favorite, regardless of logic or implications.

Control:  The interesting alternative.  Using evil's methods for potentially good purposes.

Destroy:  Finding your own path.  Rejecting all the benefits the Reapers could provide for the certainty of their destruction.  Sabotaged by a heavy-handed sacrifice.

Reject:  Rocks fall.  Everyone dies.

Alphabetically, and from an in-game perspective:

Control
A superficially appealing option. But ultimately, it sounds a lot like a feasible explanation of how the Reaper threat came to be in the first place. The potential for Corrupted Good Intentions is too high for my Shepards to seriously consider for long.

Destroy
Makes the most sense to me. I didn't like seeing EDI go (to paraphrase the Stranger from Lebowski), but I happen to know there are some little krogans on the way. Sacrificing the geth wasn't an issue my first time through, as they were already gone, but next time it will be tougher. Still, big picture says "regrettable but necessary" to me.

Refuse
I certainly understand the impulse. (And I mean the impulse for Shepard to be suspicious of the presented options, not the impulse for me-as-consumer to express my anger at Bioware.) But my allies have sacrificed a lot to get me to this point, my trusted military advisors have convinced me that a conventional win isn't an option, and without using the Crucible there's no Plan B. As I see it, neither Control, Destroy, nor Synthesis are likely to result in a worse outcome than letting the Reapers continue their harvest.

Synthesis
This one is growing on me as an option for my Renegade Shepards. Am I taking a huge decision on behalf of all life? Yes, but that's kind of what I'm here for anyway. The avoidance of eliminating any particular species as a sacrifice, the removal of the Reapers as a threat, and the potential that comes from synthetic and organic life sharing some of their attributes with each other is pretty tempting.
