I loathe the Revenant, even with the stability upgrades, its still a **** to control for me, so I've been using the Phaeston, which is good all round, but I want a powerful rifle with good accuracy. Suggestions? Thanks! Xx

Revenant destroys everything at everything but extreme long ranges.  But if you really MUST have an accurate and powerful rifle, then it's pretty much the Valkyrie, Mattock, or Vindicator.

Stop using Phaeston if you want power and accuracy.  It's mediocre at everything and bad at nothing, but by default it's good at nothing.

Saber is powerful and accurate but you're better off just carrying a sniper rifle at that point.

If you're willing to sacrifice power, the Geth Pulse Rifle is useful.  Definitely better than the Phaeston.

i too liked revenant in ME2... but i hate it in ME3. call me crazy but i like to pick my gun based on the awesome sound it makes when fired, and then how it looks, in that order. i loved the sound of the revenant in ME2, but it had more of a muffled sound in ME3. the Mattock probly had the best sound in ME3, but i cant stand semi-auto, so i went with the avenger, cause it sounded decent, looked decent and was full-auto...

BUT THEN CAME THE CERBERUS HARRIER. i kept hoping that one day there would be a full-auto version of it cause it looked AND sounded awesome, and then they made the cerberus harrier :) not only did it look exactly the same (which is good) but it sounds awesome, if not better than the mattock, AND its full-auto. it also does awesome damage. now i just hope it comes to SP soon :(

Actually I'd argue that you're better off carrying a Paladin - its does slightly more damage per round at about third of the weight... at a cost of very low clip capacity, but tbh that's easy to fix with mods.

Realistically I don't understand why the Saber is a black-level weapon. Its good but I'm not sure its up to the levels of the Harrier (and presumably the Particle Rifle if it ever made it to MP.... but then, that's basically the same thing as the Harrier when on full power).

I got the Valkyrie a month ago and I love it. Good for long or medium range, decent damage, only 16 rounds per clip(unmodded), quick reload, could use a weight reduction, but always my main gun.

If weight isn't a concern, a sniper rifle is still better than a paladin because instead of having to waste a mod on capacity like you do with the paladin, you can slap two damage mods on and blow away the paladin damage-wise.  But if you're a power heavy class and want a long range power weapon, yes the Paladin is good.

Speaking of single player weapons making it to multiplayer, why haven't multiplayer weapons made it to single player?  I mean why not just have them be unlocks upon beating the game, because on playthrough two, it's either going to be a walk in the park regardless or you're going to bump up the difficulty and use super leveled up weapons anyway.

True... but then, if you're bothered about performance you'll likely be playing a power-heavy class anyway, as they tend to blow away soldiers. I was more getting at the fact that the Paladin does the Saber's job with less effect on powers.

To be honest, thats a question many have asked (and are still asking). The prevailing theory is that they'll turn up in the single player DLC, as it would be a bit of waste of developer's time to bother designing throw-away stuff that only ever appears in MP.

I doubt its got anything to do with balance. Krysae aside, the majority of the guns in Single Player are more effective than the MP-only stuff.

As far as Fire rate, accuracy, light-weight and high ammo capacity, while still dealing enough damage to make a difference goes, it's the Mattock Hands-down. Get a Mattock V+ with a thermal clip and damage mod (both also level V) and you're set. With a fast power recharge and a gun that allows you to shoot as fast as your computer and clicking will let you, it's the perfect gun for any class playing on gold.

If you have a laggy computer, though, I suggest not going with the Mattock, because your rate of fire will be effected tremendously.

Dump the stability mod and slap on an extended barrel or AP mod. Mattock doesn't need a stability mod.

I'd go with the Mattock. It's just...right. Weight, damage, accuarcy and RoF. Slap on the right mods and you've got a death machine.

By the way, thanks for this tip. I'd always been afraid to get stuck in a match with a mattock that won't stay aimed, so I'd never bothered taking the stability mod off. Now I see that it doesn't make a difference at all, and can add that 25% damage. In the last two days, due to that upgrade and my laptop cooling pad coming (meaning no more overheating lag for me) I went from the bottom score on most matches to the top two.

Seems you got your fair bit of feedback :D
Anyway, As mainly a Human Soldier user i higlhy recommend 2 Assault rifles: a.-)The Mattock and b.-) The Cerberus Harrier.

The Mattock is only an uncommon Assault rifle, so its a lot easier to get to the level X. The only drawback of using the Mattock is that you are limited by the clip size and your own clicking speed. I use it with a mag extender level V and piercing mod V just because i like to be able to score headshots even when shooting enemies behind cover (like a window, thin wall and Shield from the Cerberus Guardian), not to mention you get to ignore part of the shield your target might have. So as long as you can click fast enough you got the best AR out there to this level.

The cerberus Harrier... it can melt anything on the field with a couple rounds. the drawbacks are the weight (wich kinda limits its use to non casters), the small clip size wich is a bigger issue than with the mattock since this AR is automatic, and the fact its a Ultra rare, making very hard to level it up. It can take a while to get used to its kickback but i really like this AR, and to be honest, after a couple games using the mattock the way i use it my fingers needed a break. I recommend modding the Harrier with extended magazine and armor piercing mod. Its just a personal preference i like shooting trough stuff...

Cerberus Harrier, hands down. Anyone saying otherwise is delusional.

Second place is Mattock.

Third place is Vindicator. All other ARs, avoid them...

I'm assuming this is MP-orientated.... the SP version of the Falcon, the Saber and the Particle Rifle all give the Harrier a run for its money. Would be interesting to have it in SP for testing.

GPS.

its the only gun i found that makes me feel like im actually in a sci fi universe, and not on earth, now.

the particle rifle is nice, but im not into the gameplay the surrounds holding down the right trigger.
