Also, saying the ending was not enjoyable at all baffles me. Enjoyed the suicide mission not the terminator.

Do you guys remember those awesome moments? I could scream "**** yeah" everytime I see them. ME3 lacks those moments really.

True but things like that didn't feel like it mattered in the end. Which can be argued now that the EC is out.

Killing Kai Leng.
Fleets going through the Charon Relay.
Grunt taking on the ravagers.
There's plenty of those moments in ME3.

Genophage cure is more of an awe inspiring moment. It lacks the same EFF YEAH!!! moment. Also because we just lost a dear friend, Mordin.
I loved the end of Tuchanka and Rannoch. But those are the only two good parts in my opinion. And honestly, the whole game felt like it was rushing me to get there, the flow was off.
ME1 had a great build up at the end of the game, from Virmire -> Ilos-> Citadel (god that zero gravity sequence was amazing) -> beating sovereign. The flow and climax to resolution was amazing.

Kai leng fight was disappointing
Wish I could have controlled the normandy or something rather than watching more cutscenes
Not enough Grunt or any other mass effect 2 characters What was the point of mass effect 2 again?

But after playing the sequels, ME1's problems are just too annoying to overlook them. I hate the bugs. I hate the Mako and how it gets stuck/flipped over way too much. I hate how every weapon in its class sounds and looks similar. I hate the overheating mechanic. I hated the complete and stupid lack of auto-saves. I hated how every side mission had similar, generic environments and enemies.
But I loved the sci-fi atmosphere. Mass Effect 1 feels unique. It actually felt like a huge universe. And it was basically the only ME game that had strong RPG elements.

Do you think we will ever get a Hi res HD makeover?
Unlikely.
What I fear is a remake, with all the stuff that doesn't appeal to "broader audiences" removed.
I know the movie is coming out so I had to ask. Damn them if they crap all over the original and I`m now filled with dread.
Treading all over our Shepards? Not going to watch. Don't care. Hope it bombs.

The general feel of Mass Effect 1 is something that no game has ever captured, before or since.
I 100% agree. I think for many of us here, ME1 sparked something in all of our hearts the the last one doesn't meet up with.
Example, the Ilos track
I can't tell you what i was feeling exactly the very first time I heard that song... so much was happening, and I was experiencing it all at once. I had to stop Saren. I loved Liara. Garrus was my comrade in arms. The Galaxy hangs on me.... And then when i heard that lost prothean recording "Act of desperation....is lost......cannot be stopped...Cannot Be Stopped... I just had this deep sinking feeling, yet i knew I was going to win the day.
I never felt that connected to Any game, book, or movie, ever. And every time i hear that Ilos song, i get goosebumps.
i never felt like that in ME3, and i thought it was going to happen, but it never did. And then i saw the end... and well, I was disappointed to say the least.

That's the big thing. ME1 was TIMELESS. There are only a handful of games that I would say are truly timeless, and it's one of them.
It's been 5 years, and not only is it my favorite of the trilogy and the only one I'm really tempted to go back and play through again...I can't think of a single game released since that has brought me as much enjoyment. I've played through it over a dozen times, and play through it again in my head every time I listen to the soundtrack.
I was so excited for the launch of Mass Effect 2...and it just let me down on so many levels. Gone were the elevators, replaced with nauseating florescent pink loading screens. Gone were the barren uncharted planets and the MAKO, replaced with a handful of side missions that seemed to have even less story. Gone was the inventory, the leveling system, and yes, even the troublesome combat...replaced with a more "streamlined" system. They started sacrificing lore for gameplay, and forced a number of incoherent plot events into narrative...it just wasn't the same anymore.
I cried the day Mass Effect 2 came out...and I knew that with Shepards death and the Normandy burning, so too went my dreams for the franchise.

I wasn't crazy about ME1, having played 2 first. It's good, but tough to go back to ME1's gameplay, and I missed the character focus found in 2 and 3.
The exact opposite for me. Played mass effect 2 first liked it alot then went to mass effect 1 and loved it more. I wonder why we had two distinctly different reactions.

I don't know. I found all the arcs in ME1 boring. Never found the Rachni interesting, never found Matriarch Benezia interesting. There's an entire planet where you fight a plant that takes over people's minds. The romances are not well done, either. Almost immediately after meeting you Liara decides she's madly in love with you. Saren and Sovereign are cool, though.
The thing I liked most about ME1, playing it on PC with ultra settings, was just walking around planets with my view turned up into the stars.

Made me expect huge things in ME2 and ME3.
But then The Illusive-Gaytoptank-Man happened... and the Rupperz turned out to be something "not epic enough" - I thought the story behind the Reapers would be even more compliacted and involving, but I don't consider overall franchise broken - it's a damn good chunk of good work in video game industry.
I just wish we could hope right from the release of ME3, what can we expect in next installment of the game (if there is going to be one).

-in cutscenes Shepard had a gun that you actually equipped,
-better galaxy map -you could see quests there,
-improved journal,
-Normandy getting better weapon, and awesome space battle scene,
-less driving around...
Thenn ME3 was just a step back from ME2 and even ME1...
The Alliance probably disabled the main gun, so that no Reaper could be eliminated easely...

In all honesty i felt that ME2 was much more interesting. I got to see so much more of the galaxy instead of the random lifeless rocks that comprised 75% of ME1s sidequests. ME1's campaign had all of the epic moments and it honly lasted 6ish hours while the rest of the sidequests shared environments. Various squadmates of different races and backgrounds gave us a much deeper look into the galaxy. I definately think people are viewing ME1 in rose-tinted glasses. It was the first of the series and was definately a good game but ME2 and even ME3 were better.
Just because the main plot of ME2 wasnt as good as ME1s doesnt mean everything else wasnt great. The inventory of ME1 was pretty pointless i would sell 99% of my crap and once i beat the game for the first time i just saved for the Spectre weapons and was set. ME2 had the best interms of exploration the basically cut out the mako and when you land you land at your destination instead of spending a half hour climbing mountains.
ME3 was a great game and just suffered from being rushed IMO but what it had was great. Combat was vastly improved and much less cover based then ME2. Tuchanka and Rannoch were just really well written IMO and those were the only parts in the entire series where i may have shed a man tear.
