Why don't more people play as Turians

I love the Turian Sent, one of my favorite "Random Enemy" map classes cuz he can handle anything & works well with virtually any comp.

Personally, I find Turians in MP to be Excellent.
The Soldier is pretty much a roaming cerberus turret. Adrenaline Module III, P.MIne, then Marksmen everything.
.
IMO.
I use Adrenaline III to make up for Turian's lack of roll. Yes, it is annoying when you round a corner and find a Ravager's beads on you knowing if you only had a roll... but, generally, due to the /huge/ DPS the Turian can put out (espescially with my Hurricane VI and SMG gear), things die too fast for Roll to be required for close range enemies.
The only problems I tend to have are Vs Ravagers or Rocket troopers who surprise me. Brute charges can be annoying, too, and are generally where I spend most of my OP packs.

I HAVE seen them shine. I have never once seen a Turian Sentinel perform better than "decent".
That the point I'm trying to make most have never seen a Turian Sentinel do anything great.
Just today I played with a guy he used a Turian Sentinel and he sucked he didn't help with BEs or TBs he died a lot and he way 4th at the end of the match.
I was using the same build as him and I came In first killed 10 Phantom by my self and helped the AJ and GE kill 15 Atlas.
I got more then 75 kills, and 50 Assists and SMG kills we got full Extraction and I Survived 10 waves without dieing.
All of this was on Gold.
And just last week I hated the Turians but once I gave they a chance I love them.
I just wish more people would give them a chance.

To my large frustration I haven't unlocked the turian sentinel yet, but I would love to play him soon.

I can take him on any map and on any difficulty and take care of business.
I have tried all of the different builds and have settled on 6/6/6/5/3
I use all kinds of weapons on him but usually stick w/ Krissy, Indra, or Hurricane.
I am not a fan of the TSo

I've played this game a hell of a lot. Not the most, by any means, but I've gotten to the point that I've seen, through thousands of people I've played with, the relative potential of the vast majority of classes (Rebellion classes are about the only exception here).
I have given BOTH Turians many chances. As far back as the demo, and every month since then. And I have never once been in a situation where I didn't think "You know, if I was just using a BETTER class, this would be going so much more smoothly." Especially the Soldier, but even with the Sentinel. I honestly feel limited when I use these classes. Its a downgrade from my other favorite classes. I kill slower. I die more often. My powers don't synergize. When you see that no one uses Turians, you take it to mean that people don't appreciate them. I take it to mean that they just aren't that good. I believe this, because if they WERE that good, they would be used. People flock to the useful and powerful classes in this game.

It seems that a lot of people dislike the lack of mobility. To be honest, it hasn't really bothered me too much, thoughI suppose I've also gotten used to it. I tend to use the classes more as support roles, and tend to focus on cleaning up the large groups of enemies before hitting the larger targets (which usually get swarmed by my team members. haha!). Regardless, I find it to be a solid class, and survivability is great for my Turian Sentinel. I cannot even tell you how many times detonating my tech armor has saved my ass from Phantoms!

Hunter sneaking up on you: Very likely, its hard to see them with Marksman on.
Rocket Troopers: Can't dodge the rockets, even when you see them.
Pyros: I hate that moment when I realize there is a Pyro behind me or anywhere in close range. You have no option other than spray and pray...
I'm actually fine vs. Reapers, because Ravagers or Brutes are exactly what the Hurricane in combination with a Turian was made for.
But yeah, the reason why I don't play it more often mainly is the lack of a dodge. There are so many situations that would've been easy to solve with a Human or even a Quarian that will get you killed as a Turian. They are meant to be somewhat tanky, the problem only is that this game neither needs a tank, nor does tanking work very well.
As far as the soldier is concerned, I'd really like to see a bonus power evolution on Marksman. The way it is, PM then shoot is the better choice against any humanoid mob, that doesn't make too much sense imho.

I would say more that people flock to the classes that give the highest output for the least amount of effort.DarkerCompanion wrote...

Turian Soldier is a DPS beast with the correct set up. Unfortunately, he requires rare guns to really shine (Hurricane, and I've read the Harrier is decent) and gear/equipment.
He's tricky due to his lack of mobility, but really all this means is adjusting your playstyle. I rarely use hard-cover, I tend to block line of sight and pop around the edges so I can keep my gun firing as much as possible.
His powers lack synergy in that you have to wait for MM to finish to pop off a PM or CS (come on Bonus Power evo..), but the CD is low enough that you can find rhythm.
He's by far one of my favourite characters. a CQC Hurricane wielding death machine. He's the most expensive character to use, though. Always 5 Thermal clips and OPs use, and I always save my max equipment to up his output as much as I can.
Remember, if it's dead it can't hurt you... so who needs to roll?

Soldiers racial ability more then makes up for its lack of maneuverability. Take anything with a high rate of fire, add that ability and watch the chain gun melt enemies faces.
ROF MM.
HIp Fire.
Hurricane.
CQC.

Whoa no need to get so mad, I'm not saying that Infiltrators, geth, quarian male, and Adepts aren't good classes they are all very good some are great, but just because the Turian Sentinel isn't OP doesn't mean he not good.
Everyone know Infiltrators, geth and quarian male are OP because they are very easy to use, that not a bad thing, but to say that the Turian Sentinel can't match up to them is wrong.
The Turian Sentinel has more health and shields then all the classes you listed.
Does rolling really save you that much on gold if your going to die rolling won't help.
He to slow? Use an Adrenaline Module III you have 55 of them what are you saving them for.
If you don't have a Hurricane ( your is level 4 two levels higher then mine) use a Tempest or Locust or geth SMG they work just a good as the Hurricane.
And finally have you used him lately if you haven't give him a try you have all of the guns hes good with.
Erm..........

No SMG is as good as the Hurricane but if you don't have it the others are still good on a Turian.

0/6/6/6/6 Batarian soldier With harrier and reegar. I play it a lot because it's true soldier. Just your weapons, armor, a few nades and beating people's azes. Because soldiers shouldn't need powers. He owns hard.
