Come to think of it, I think the only race I've seen both male and females for is the Quarians and Krogan. Then again, you can never really tell under those masks, and what's the difference between a male and female Krogan?
What the hell, BioWare?
We've also seen female salarians. Dalatrass Linron, and the replacement for Councilor Valern.

An all male race can't exist because you need tobe able to birth and raise the kids.
Seehorse males are the ones who are pregnant and give birth to their children.
Ehh true but they still can't produce an embryo. Males not being able produce embryo on their own is the real reason there can't be an all male species.

It doesn't really matter if the "gay race" is technically not all-male. Asari aren't "technically" female.
The only thing that matters is that they LOOK totally masculine and require sexual intercourse to reproduce. It could be more of a psychological experience than a physical one (a la Asari).
After all, it's the physical attributes that turns women and gay men on, not whether or not they're actually a plant, haha.
Only difference being that asari ARE technically female. We can argue over semantics, but they are female. And again, Orks are asexual half-plants. They have no gender. Literally.

I had an idea for a species that was all male. They would reproduce by impregnating a host, and their offspring would use the host as a mother, adapting to the mother's own DNA, and masking its own. When it is born, it looks like the mother species, but during puberty, it metamorphoses into the father species. The children could be male or female at birth, or some third sex, it matters not.
I based this idea off the idea of incubus demons and changelings. I still think it could be cool, if technobabble could be written to explain it.

The books have female batarians, as a good deal of the first book took place on a Batarian world, I think Kamala. The Angry One wrote...

They talk of females, BioWare are just lazy.
We've never heard of a Batarian female, however..Siansonea II wrote...

That's fine. My point is that the target audience for the "gay race" wouldn't care if they're actually male or just really physically similar to it.
Asari were probably spawned from the wet dream of some horny, nerdy dev, and as a result they have appeal for horny, nerdy gamers (such as myself!). The only purpose of the "gay race" would be to appeal to horny, nerdy GAY gamers.
Who cares if they're technically male or not as long as they look it and act it.

Bioware made a race of thousand year old blue amphibian lesbians that can have sex with anyone, but where is the race of flamboyantly gay red reptiles? Would anyone want a squadmate like that to keep STEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVE company?
Imagine krogans without females... satisfied ?

They're bisexuals, not lesbians.
(Before anyone says they're monogendered or something, we all know they're essentially female.)
It would probably be more accurate to define Asari as pansexuals.

Actually, they would be parasexual. They dont really have sex.

Yea why not? Because men can't have babies, that's why! It would be a race boomed to extinction.
So when something went boom, they would all go extinct? That would mean they could never build supersonic jets or cannons.
