Would you like to say that he is never wrong?

If he's wrong here then the rest of his ideas have no merit, there is no need to do anything and you can safely blow him up without worrying about his stupid eternal conflict he keeps whinning about as you can no longer belive thats what would happen either.

Ok, so what's the point of it then?

Synthetic upgrades to organics, true life to synthetics (I'm going to be called racist for this) and the Reapers are freed.
Some people would argue this is bad but I believe otherwise. Killing a Reaper is genocide. They deserve another opportunity at life and their knowledge can greatly benefit our civilizations.

As illustrated when he decides to give the rachni queen a go...

You mean aside from the Catalyst?

I mean on this forum at least.

You know, the thing that promotes synthesis.

I guess everything is ok no matter how atrocious as long as you can say "he started it"

So, the only way you can see to end a war is through the complete genocide of your opponent.
Regardless of their reasons or what they can offer in peace.

Synthesis kills everyone and replaces them with hybrids wearing their faces.

Because gaining synthetic upgrades somehow turns you into a different person?
If their memories and personalities are intact, then they are the same person. No matter how much Anti-Synthesis might argue, there is zero evidence it causes brainwashing.

The Catalyst has no choice. It has to follow its programming.
It gave Shepard to opportunity to accept one of the choices created by the new variable because it can't do so itself. If Shepard refuses to do so, then it has no choice other than continue the Cycle.

Rachni Queen - Innocent. Not involved in Rachni war. Does not ever attempt to justify the Rachni's actions.

Reapers - Unrepentant. Arrogant. Enjoy themselves while commiting genocide. Justify their actions with nonsense logic.

Yeah no difference there.

Uhh the catalyst chose this 'solution'

Remember how it said that?

He can choose to stop it anytime he wants to.

Folks, please think about it. What difference is there in taking a normal person in dipping him in radioactive goo against his will? And changing some ones entire DNA against their consent in Synthesis? It's the same deal. It's disgusting, horrible and atrocious.

'Same result. The Reaper's idea of perfection and the 'pinnacle' of evolution.'

No evidence of that whatsoever that's just youre speculation and honestly the reapers where changed as well by the process. So that kinda defeats youre argument. Reapers are a twisted construct of organic and synthetic elements. Synthesis is a fundamental re write to make the base code of all life the same. It bears similarities but is NOT the same process.

How are the Reapers "changed". They gain green circuit overlays? Whoopdeedoo. They're already hybrids, regardless of the process used to make them. They remain the same, and they remain unrepentant as synthesis is what the Catalyst has wanted all along.

Catalyst: "Synthesis is the final evolution of all life."

The reapers are changed because ALL life is changed they are no
exception. Deny it if you will but I think that the "Husk wakes up"
scene blatently disproves what you assert even if it made any sense
other than to justify youre own preferences.

The Catalyst does not offer peace. It asks for total capitulation to it and it's ideals, and that all life be rearranged to suit it.
Because gaining synthetic upgrades somehow turns you into a different person?
It eliminates what you were and replaces it with something new.
If their memories and personalities are intact, then they are the same person. No matter how much Anti-Synthesis might argue, there is zero evidence it causes brainwashing.
It must brainwash, or it is pointless. It forces an end to conflict. It can only do this by altering mental states.

[quoteThe Catalyst has no choice. It has to follow its programming.
It's an AI. Not a VI. It changed it's directives once. It can do so again.
It gave Shepard to opportunity to accept one of the choices created by the new variable because it can't do so itself. If Shepard refuses to do so, then it has no choice other than continue the Cycle.
It has choice. It simply refuses to do so on it's own due to it's arrogance.
This is illustrated when it blurts out "SO BE IT." The facade is dropped, it's true colours are shown.

This would be much easier if you were to say something like "I just hate them to death and therefore I refuse to do anything that doesn't wipe them off the face of the galaxy" which really is the essence of your argument.

I say it again though, they accept violence as their means of accomplishing a goal and so do you, you're not so different from them as you may think.

Let´s not forget what the Reapers do to the Rachni. Twice.

And why is people so concerned about past cycles knowledge? It advanced always along the same path, then got stomped at the 50000 year mark.

Because it connects Husks to their new "consensus" or whatever you want to call it.
So what? How does this change REAPERS? It doesn't. It simply makes everything else like them.

If you find this unacceptable and awful it does not mean that someone else is the same, think about it.
For humans slavery is terrible, this constraint on their freedom. For batarians is okay, it's part of their culture.

Really? making decisions for people without their consent is atrocious? Guess wed better kill all the politicians and make every decision possible my democratic ballot. Oh wait yeah the world dousn't work like that. I mean sure giving some random schmuk that choice might be bad but this is commander shepard. If anyone has earned the right to make that choice it is him. Much more than most politicians I know.

Also equating DNA alteration with rape I think speaks of serious personal purity issues.

That's not my argument, and quit pretending this is a philosophical debate. It's not.
They are the enemy. They are not offering peace on equal terms. They offer co-existence if we become like them.

Furthermore, this is not about violence or death. The civilisations trapped within the Reapers are already dead. Killing the Reapers puts them to rest. Shepard said this herself to the Destroyer on Rannoch.
They deserve peace, not to continue to be mockeries of the people the Reapers murdered to please people like you.
