So, just because people hate ME3, I should too? As a gamer, ME3 was heads and shoulders above most of the other stuff I've played. I'm not a BioWare fanatic, I've only played DA and ME. So I don't know how it stacks up to other BioWare works. But it is WAY better than most of the crap that comes out every year.

Funny how you just snip out what I said instead of replying to it. Then citing reviews done by over emotional/dramitc people.

Simple question: have you played ME1?

I've beaten it 6 times.

Sorry to tell you, but that's pretty much BSN in a nutshell these days. Write a thread where you say something positive about ME3 > Wait for the ten-page essays telling you not to like ME3. According to many on here, ME3 is THE worst game of all time. I just don't know what these people are doing on here. I guess they just care a whole lot about what other people thinks about the stuff they hate. It's quite sad, really.

Some people just have higher standards - especially when BioWare is concerned.

I'm starting to remember why I never argue with anybody here anymore.

In most people's eyes if you like ME3 you are not intellegent, you are not invested in the series, you have no taste, you are not able to comprehend the plot of ME1, you kill puppies, you like COD, etc.

Fanboys will be fanboys and ignore most, if not all, flaws a game has and give it praise it more often than not doesn't deserve. Sorry if people who aren't stupid like that are inconveniencing you like that.

Ranting about every little detail in a videogame doesn't mean that you have high standards. ME3 had its flaws, but calling it a crap game is ridiculous and only shows how big of a child you are.

For a lot of people its not a case of hate. Its a case of being able to see flaws where they are. I like ME3, its a very good game. I preferred ME2 because I thought it had fewer plot contradictions and I thought it had better chracterisation (some of the characters in ME3 really didn't need to be there such as Diana Allers and Kai Leng as well as some others). ME2 had significantly better sidequests because the vast majority weren't pointless fetch quests as opposed to ME3 which has a plethora of them. You are more than entitled to your opinion. There are other smaller developers who make equally as good games without getting as much attention as Mass Effect and Dragon Age gets. Have you ever heard of The Witcher 2? Great game.

Well, I guess it's mostly because people believe that the more united they are, the better chances there are for BW to actually give a damn about what I too believe are serious issues. So they get a little zealous, which is not really that helpful. I get why, I do it too sometimes. Wish I didn't, but do.

Say what you want about how Mass effect 3 is leagues ahead of other games but that game was nothing short of awesome and had a cool emotional story despite it's negatives.
It's not a game I would consider a must buy or great but it was good and I would not say it is better than a lot of other RPG's or JRPG's that come out but it is better than Mass effect 3.

Mass effect 3 is a terrible game Period
it was sold duo to older titles (ME1-2) Fans ( who played and loved ME1-2)
and false propaganda i am sorry to tell you "Me3 Ec lovers"
the whole ME3 is a lie
go look at the Me trailer its nothing but a big pile of crap and lies
i do not remember "taking back earth"
where was the huge battle? were was "we kill them and take earth back?"
ooo there wasn't
instead we got "run to the blue beam at the end of the street or we all die"

and if you play ME3 only main story no side plots
you finish in 2-3 hours even less if you do not talk to people you dont need on the citadel and ignore your crew
that game had no story
it had no plot
it was released as an incomplete game with a DLC on day one to try and force the people that did not buy the deluxe edition to spend more money
bad games will be bad games
and blind games will be blind gamers
if you wanna believe mass effect was ok or even "good"
your choice
i believe a trilogy over 5 years with 100+ hours of gameplay deserves a better story
and yes by definition a better ending
A way better ending then a stolen ending
2 games with this ending prior to ME1 let alone ME3
Deus ex
S.T.A.L.K.E.R
both had deus ex machina crap in the end
in stalker you can even choose the "destory/control" option
so there was not art in ME3
there was no work since all of the story was already there
ending up in a game already created years ago
all they had to do is the ending
and even on that 10 minutes they didnt work
they just stole it from another game
yea i know for a fact
ME3 is one of the worst games of 2012

Thanks for the sensible reply, it's much appreciated. I pretty much agree with everything you said. The side quests are lacking. It really gives the game less of a "substance" than the first two games. I'm more than willing to admit the game had flaws. It just bothers me when people say "everything about the game sucked, it was a waste of time, the writers are hacks, the people who liked it lack taste, etc." It's just very extreme. I suppose I'm complaining about complainers though.

I've always wanted to try the Witcher series. I've heard nothing but good things about it. I'll check it out the next time I have money. I heard TW2 is much better than TW, but I like a complete story. Should I start out with TW or just skip to TW2?

People still have the impression stuck in their heads that Bioware's the undisputable king of video game entertainment. This is their standard now, people. We can be happy it's higher than the level of effort they've put into DA2. You think parts of ME3 were executed lazily? You've never played DA2.

If you play on PC I recommend starting from TW1 otherwise they've only just moved the series to console but it is still well worth buying 2 on console.

I'm not saying that ME3 is the only good game out there, it's just very good compared to the majority of the market. 30 hours of gameplay, a good (yes, I know it's subjective) story, the ability to make your own character, good gameplay mechanics, and a decent added multiplayer mode. I feel like I got my moneys worth. It's one of the few games I spent $60 on. Normally I won't go above $20.
