The writing doesn't deserve quite the amount of flak it gets.

The Story is great or at least better that most storys...it just went over the some people heads...the same 20 people make the same invalidated comments over and over again.

which distorts the perception how the community looks at biowares writing

I got my Xbox a year ago. Up until then I played on my friends Xbox because I liked playing video games, he wanted to show me some cool games, I kicked it there everyday and I couldn't afford one. I got a job and bought my own Xbox so I could have my own games and saves. Plus, mooching off your friend just isn't cool.

You sound poor.

I'm starting to see why you only have 1 "friend" here.

Friend's on the internet?
You myst be trolling, I don't befriend people and I think people befriending other people are worthless and not worth my time, why would I bother sending anyone a friend request on any site.
But hey if someone sends me  a request then I will accept it.

Note the quotations. I figured "friend" might mean something different for you here.

It doesn't mean anything for me.

It has meaning for you. Wanna know how I know? You had the ability to tell me what it meant to you already. Good day sir, this exchange is over now.

It has meaning for me and you know that because I had the ability to tell you what it meant.

The meaning for that is that it meant nothing, make of that what you will.

If all this logic anti-ME3 were used in the rest of the saga, it would be worse than the new Star Wars movies ...

I always see posts bashing the
writing of ME1,2 and 3. Granted there are plot holes, but c'mon guys.
The BioWare writing staff is miles ahead of most developers. I've never
been more involved in any other video games. The Dragon Age series feels
like a novel unfolding before your eyes. A novel you get to write. The
Mass Effect series feels like a movie you get to star in. The BioWare
team is great at their jobs, we've just been spoiled by their talent.

...granted their work is not perfect, but it's definately good.

I own virtually every B/W release (except TOR). They do have elements of good writing but there has been a drop in quality recently. In fantasy related games where the presence of Magic can explain the exotic they do OK In Sci-Fi though this is different and a much harder challenge that sadly Mass Effect fails to achieve IMO.

There are threads were literary professionals and academics thoroughly analyse the writing of the game series. The failures and the successes. Well worth a look before starting threads that will inevitably end being flamed.

Where ME's writing does work is in the Character development and in engendering an emotional connection to some pixels is a worthy achievement, but this seems to have been given more focus than Plot etc.

The writing for Mass Effect 3 definitely fell short.

I'll say this much - the movies ingame were very well done - the writting no so much when it comes to ME3.

Since ME 1 we've known the Citadel was a death trap and we still make it our seat of power for the galaxy? Not even the alliance who clearly  recognizes the reaper threat - Hackett ask Liara to seek information about the reapers. Come on!! Even today countries have a backup plan - a second location for a goverment if things go wrong!

We know the keepers are made by the reapers or suspect as much with damn good reason - AND it is not studied any further? No no no - hands off! You go to jail if you touch them?! Nice.

In ME 1 we take down a 2 km long spaceship inside the Citadel which arms are about 20 km in lenght - and there were not enough evidence in the debris to support Shepards claim on the reaper threat? Come on! Today we can find evidence of what explosive were used in a car bomb? Don't get me wrong ME 1 was a great game but it have been down hill ever since.

Curing the genophage quest - What quest? Is this a joke? A hard choice? No No No No! The writter clearly have NO understanding of warfare? God writting in a war game is NOT to give the player the option to cut of his/hers furture supplie of fresh troops in a war the comanding officer does NOT know long will last! I belive the very concept was used by Stalin with a poor result and was undone when the germans invaded. But what do I know???

This was just some of the things I don't regard as GOOD writting.

It did...evident in the countless threads... people ignoring what is said in the game...make baseless assumptions...complaining about plotholes that they self created through headcanon...

Not perfect but good was what I call the rest of the game. The moment the Catalyst shows up the writing becomes atrocious.

Quoted for truth, people here are unobjective. The standard of comparison should be other video game writing (Gears of War, Skyrim, Fallout 3, New Vegas, etc). Bioware's work is miles and miles ahead of them.

What's wrong with the writing of New Vegas? I thought it was excellent.

Bioware game fans on a bioware forum are unobjective against bioware? My head is full of.....

A disenfranchised fans opinion is as valid as your own.

Strange, because I finished two times and I always choose the dialogue ...<_<

There is this option because there are people who perhaps do not want to choose the dialogues. Is there any problem to give this OPTION?

Fans always seem to enjoy things the least. Take Star Wars fans for example: They so often tend to get irritated at the smallest discrepancies in canon that they forget to actually enjoy what they're watching/reading.

The same goes for Mass Effect fans, it seems.

There's a problem with reducing 3-6 dialogue options to 2, and only having what... 4 renegade/paragon triggers the entire game?

I don't mind having only 2 options if they result in radically diverging story-lines ala The Witcher 2.

Unfortunately, they don't.

ME3's writing wasn't perfect, but I'll be damned if I didn't sniffle a bit.

This is just me, but the Thane prayer scene got me the most. It was a toss up between Thane and Mordin being my two favorite characters from ME2. Both death scenes were written well.

The game had some monstrous plotholes, but some of the characters were written so well that I sometimes hate the fact that they had to go....Except Ashley....

I completeley agree with this. Plus don't forget that people seem to forget that ME is sci-fi which by it's very nature has a plot made of swiss cheese. You can ALWAYS find plot holes in  sci fi if you want to find them. No exceptions.

I actually thaught ME3 was very well written. Perhaps some of the old romance options and sub plots needed more fleshing out. But maybe dlc will take care of this.

That's unkind and cranky. This post are the types of posts that give BSN a bad name. If you dissagree then go ahead otherwise you should probably take some time off yourself bro.
