I recently reformated my pc, so I reinstalled ME3.
Stupidly enough I lost all my ME3 saves because I forgot about them. (Not a big deal I wasnt that far in anyway, as I was waiting for the better ending)

Anyways when starting a new game and importing my ME2 save I noticed it doesnt give me the option to select a bonus power like it did before. (Before it used to say something along the lines of: "your achievements have earned you these bonus powers" Think I could choose between armor piercing or barrier)  But now it seems to skip that step entirely. Is this a bug? Or something they just got rid of in a patch?

Wondering if anyone who comes across this post and has the time can try creating a new game with an ME2 import and post if they have the same issue or not? Would really be appreciated. One more difference from before was that I purchased and dloaded the "From Ashes" DLC this time around. Don't know if that made a
difference.

Thanks in advance

What I ended up doing was deleting the whole Bioware folder under Documents and restarted the game. Then after the game recreated the folder I copied my Mass Effect 2 saves back in to the folder and it worked!

Weird.

My guess would be when you uninstalled it (or reformatted, whichever) the data (or whatever) that registered that you had unlocked them went bye bye.

Probably because you lost your your "local_profile.sav" file in C:\\Users\\<username>\\Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 3\\Save

ME1 and ME2 stored them in different files, but the effect would be the same. You just lost your acheivements, unlocked powers, etc. Though to be honest with ME3 storing your profile online, I would think it would sync up and repopulate your local profile with the online information.
