I keep getting an error when I try to start the game, PhysXLoader.dll is not found. I've reinstalled four times now. Anyone know a solution?

Do you have an ATI card? PhysX is an Nvidia program, so ATI doesn't have it in it's drivers. In any event, here's a link to download th whole PhysX package:

You wouldn't happen to have both ATI & NVidia cards installed would you? Some NVidia drivers disable Physx if they detect non-nvidia video cards.

I do actually have one of each, one is my motherboard is NVidia and my graphics card is ATI. Will that site still work?

Hmmm.... I was under the impression the problem would be with graphics cards, which should be a rather small portion of the population.

So no, your configuration shouldn't be a problem...

Actually... humorguy has it right, your graphics card does not support physx

Incase you haven't done so already, have you re-installed the Nvidia PhysX software from the DA:O installation disk? I had an issue with it and got a similar error, re-installing sorted that out.

@Withidread, it's not that ATI cards don't support it, it's just that you have to have it installed for the game to work. I have an ATI 4850 and had to install PhysX for another game that said it needed it. It has never given mer any grief with any game, and DA works fine with it installed.

Actually, ATI cards "don't" support it.  Only NVidia GPUs have PhysX hardware support.  If you don't have an NVidia GPU then it switches itself and runs from the CPU instead. Or you can find an Aegia PhysX card (hard to do though since NVidia stopped making them after buying the company).

Many games use the CPU-based PhysX, including this one.  Neither a dedicated PhysX adapter, nor an nVIDIA card is required.  However, this game will skip over installing its own version, if there's already a version installed.  You have to uninstall what's there now (which isn't compatible with the game), and then run the PhysX install on your game DVD.

Ah, well, I wish it were otherwise, but I don't think that Intel video chip is compatible with PhysX, but even if it was, the video chip would be far too slow to use in this game, really.

Good luck, come back & try RPGs again, when you have a little more horsepower!

Physx driver here> http://www.nvidia.co..._9.10.0129.html

If that doesn't fix it, I suggest you roll back your drivers.

Also, don't get up month old topics just post your own. :)

Hmm? Two comments in a row that "don't compute" . .OK, I suppose that the recent one might end up being edited into something in English, after which, no one would know why my comment said "two", so here's the quote.

It sure doesn't look like English in my eyes!

Already answered a year ago.    And the same applies.  Don't dig up year-old messages.
