As far as Crom Faeyr goes...it will be shared between main and haerdalis ( one will wear it, one will wear  that 22 str girdle.

Haer'Dalis does not want the hammer. He wants 1 or 2 of these: Belm and Kundane and the Scarlet Ninja To.

Btw with weapons, if you have 2 weapons, each adding +5 to thaco, that is not +10 on every attack, right ? Its +5 on main hand attack and +5 on offhand attack, right ?

No. Weapons +N only add this bonus to themselves. (the Equalizer is an exception from this rule, but that's only about damage)

Now add in both weapons, probably both of them will add +5 thaco,

The only important offense comes from your main hand. Don't forget this. (it's why Crom Faeyr, Belm etc always go into the left hand)

I mean even an extra level 9 spell is worth less then extra health, lower thaco and extra half attack

A mage cares not for HP, for he is invulnerable. During a Time Stop, a mage cares not for THAC0, for every attack against the frozen enemies will hit. And don't underestimate level 10 spells.

Also, how many attacks will i be able to attain if i dual at 13 ? When i go from 4 to 5 points in a weapon, i go from 3/2 to 2, which should bring me what ? As a fighter i get 2 attacks, weapon adds 2 or what ? Thats 4 ? And an offhand weapon thats together 5 ? Am i doing this right ?

A fighter level 13 has 2 base APR. Add + 1/2 for two points in the main weapon (5/2). Add +1 for five points in the main weapon and True Grandmastery (7/2). Add +1 for your offhand weapon (9/2). Add +1/2 for Gauntlets of Extraordinary Specialization (5). If you don't have True Grandmastery: Add +1 for Belm/Kundane.
You can't go above 5 APR.

Will i be able to do most of this quests by just picking the NPCs and rest with them ? I dont want to drive them around for hours and share experience with them ....

To my knowledge the fastest way of triggering the delayed quests is to take the characters into your group, and immediately kick them out again. Then do a number of quests and come back. Their counters start when they get recruited, but they are not paused when they are out of the party.

And the last question, that big mansion in bridge district. If i remember correct, you go there if u are doing the priest stronghold quest.

No. Cleric quests are contained to slums and temple district. (and government district for Talos)
I think you are talking about the house that is related to Anomen?
In that case, it really depends on whether or not you break in. If you do, it's good guys. Otherwise it's bad ones.

As far as HP on level up goes, i might have to use that tweak to get neverwinter nights style, that means in 1D10 you get somewhere between 5 and 10 ( as oposed to between 1 and 10 ). I dont know but the last time i rolled, i got chars with like 50hp and i am talking about fighters......i just cant do SCS2 like this.....i dont want ultra high hp though, like max on each level up.....i want something fair. For instance fighters begin with like 70hp and are about 120hp near the end of the game.....How do you ppl cope with that when you play insaine ?

If you turn the difficulty to easy before leveling up, it will be maximum HP. But remember that this only works until level 9 or 10.

Humanoid_Taifun: tnx again for the reply, i like your style !

I am pretty sure Haerdalis will want the hammer, at least when he is attacking low thaco enemies since he will probably have problems with his bad thaco. Or maybe he will get a girdle of 22 str, if that will be enough.

Mage might use high health due to SCS2 mod....to make the long story short, AOE spells with 20D10 and stuff tends to fall around in this and other similar mods...i know during timestop every attack is autohit, but berserker wont operate only during time stops, and that extra half attack is 1 whole attack when under improved haste. That means extra 20 damage per round, which is well, quite good. I dont underestimate HLAs but once you pick the first few, there is really nothing else to pick. If i am correct its like this: extra level 6, 7 and 8 spell, comet, dragons breathe, planetar, improved alacricity and those energy blades, which well, wont really be needed at ALL: Soo basicly 4 crucial spells and 3 extra spellslot "skills", thats 7.....and i am pretty sure i can get to level 25 during tob, dont you think ? Well now even i dont know when to level up...but like i said, my party is main, haerdalis, minsc, jaheira, imoen and aerie. It really wouldnt hurt for my main to be at least a decent fighter ( and no, dont try to change my mind about party, its how i want to play it this time :P ). 9 vs 13 ? Gahh. -.-

I know 5 is max, and no true grandmastery for me.

No way i am giving haerdalis belm. He is the only one in party who can use scarlet after his high level abilities kick in ( i might give him belm until then :P ) soo yeah, he will use that awesome weapon. Isnt it funny, i never knew Joluv existed until few months ago....soo i never actualy bought anything from him. And such awesome items heh...

Take them in, kick them out...sounds a bit cheesy, doesnt it ? Is it game time ? Cause i might just recruit them and let the party sit somewhere lol, i used to do that and in the end i got a HUGE game time lol.

Anomen quest ? Oh, its ok then, i am going there anyway, soo if i dont kill everyone, i sure as hell will loot the house ! I am playing fair this time soo i need the money ! ( isnt it quite funny that i say i play "fair" in the same sentence where i say that i will loot their house ? Fair is meant no sell, steal, sell for infinite money ).

I know of that trick offcourse and i always used it until now ( or maybe did i start in insaine, got a bit lower health, but always lowered difficulty before level up to get max on level up - i know i did that ). But that sounds cheesy and i will have no part of this, i must find a better way. How do all of you, insaine SCS2 guys do it ? Lower difficulty before level up ? Use that NWN hitpoints on level up thing ? What ?

Hmm, a note on that hitpoint thing...if you start on insaine or easy....you get different health, right ? Soo maybe it is best that i start on easy to get that good starting health ( or maybe on core to get something in the middle... ), and then just play on insaine and when i level up, reload until i get at least 6 or 7 ( out of 10 ). That feels ok since i always roll many times on character creation ( attribute points ). But this only affects me, right ? If i put easy instead of insaine in settings and start the game, this will only affect my main character but not other NPCs aswell right ? Only when i level them up will they be affected but their starting health is the same no matter what ?

I'm torn between thanking you for the compliment and asking you to ignore the name and just take the information as it comes. I am known to sometimes indulge in some pretty stupid things.

I am pretty sure Haerdalis will want the hammer, at least when he is attacking low thaco enemies since he will probably have problems with his bad thaco. Or maybe he will get a girdle of 22 str, if that will be enough.

Don't be so worried about THAC0. In early SoA it plays a big role, but the further you go, the less important it becomes.

AOE spells with 20D10

So long as you don't feel confident enough to protect yourself with spells that may be the right attitude.

If i am correct its like this: extra level 6, 7 and 8 spell, comet, dragons breathe, planetar, improved alacricity and those energy blades

I am assuming you have a mod installed that changes Comet to actually be useful (in comparison to Dragon's Breath)?

no, dont try to change my mind about party,

Why would I? I am certain it can function.

Take them in, kick them out...sounds a bit cheesy, doesnt it ? Is it game time ? Cause i might just recruit them and let the party sit somewhere lol, i used to do that and in the end i got a HUGE game time lol.

I don't think it's real time. That mostly works for romances. But why would it be cheesy? You meet somebody, you hang out with him, you exchange adresses, and then later you decide to meet up with him again. Oh, he's got a problem? Sure you can help, no problem at all.

How do all of you, insaine SCS2 guys do it ? Lower difficulty before level up ? Use that NWN hitpoints on level up thing ? What ?

It depends I guess. I neither play on insane (that goes against the rules IMO and is artificial difficulty) nor do I really play no-reload (though I don't usually reload just because somebody dies). I usually employ this Set-to-easy before leveling up because the leveling happens mostly in BG1 and I'm not willing to play a level 3 warrior with 20HP when everybody is shooting poisoned arrows or fire arrows at me.

Soo maybe it is best that i start on easy to get that good starting health

Don't do that if you don't like cheating. For some reason, the computer "rolls" one die too many if during game start the difficulty is set to easy, so a fighter starts with as many as 10HP more than allowed.
By the way, different difficulties don't employ different loaded dice. There is only one die (or one die per die class). The difficulty only determines if it is used or not.

If i put easy instead of insaine in settings and start the game, this will only affect my main character but not other NPCs aswell right ?

Quite right. Their character resources are finished and can be viewed with Shadowkeeper. The only thing that is not determined is which version you meet (and that depends on your level, not on the difficulty).

Well i dont know, the only way to further improve you would be for you to shapeshift into Humanoid_Taifun.txt. You would be a guide and downloadable on gamefaqs.com !

Great info ! THACO could still be a problem with main bosses, Abazigal and his ultra low AC....and since the sole role of Minsc ( and possibly Jaheira ) will be to survive since their protections are quite useless compared to mages Pfmw, i could use Haerdalis and my Mains damage dealing, and well, missing 1/4 or even 2/4 of hits, that is horrible, i am just not used to missing. Tensers is out of the question ( might aswell kill the poor mage.. ).

Protective spells, yes offcourse. Even though i always feel like i am in a shoebox and oponents just keep throwing dispel magics at me which i cannot escape from. Dont know why i have such feeling that no matter which spell i cast, it will be dispelled in a second. Strange that oponents dont feel the same way when i am throwing breaches at them and they simply recast protections. Yep, those kensei/mage and sorceres ruined me, actualy robe of vecna ruined me, what with it being the best item in bg2 and well, doing everything exept carrying laggage with char wearing it and the other 5 just hiding in a corner, trying to stay alive.

I have no mods that change Comet, i just feel like it doesnt hurt to take it. Stun is nice though and non-fire damage aswell !

Great point with NPCs ! Damn good point ! I might just do that, its legit experience, some quests i never done before ( Mazzy is the only one i think i have never done before...but still, its been a very long time since i did Anomen, Cernd ( did i or didnt ? ), etc. ).

Ok, no starting on easy, how about starting on core ? You kind of lost me with those dies.....i hate this anyway, when they say, you summon a 12 hit die fire elemental. Well what the hell does that really mean ? 12D10 ? How do i know its 10, maybe he is a very bad mage who cant cast even a single spell but still is a mage, which means he has 12D4 hit points. And how about constitution bonus ? Does he have any ? Cant they just say, you summon 128hp fire elemental ?

Ok soo to clarify. If i put the slider on easy or core before i start, what is different then insane ( exept for that cheating 10hp which i dont care since i wont use easy ). When i start on easy, if i am level 7......i get 10 + 4 per level ? Soo this way i would have 98 hit points ? Because thats about as much as i had the last time i started on easy or maybe i even got more. Ok, soo if i start on core or on insane, basicly i will have 7D10 + 4, which means for each level i will get anywhere from 1 to 10 hit points but will always get that extra 4 ? Soo in worst case i will have 35 health ? Basicly starting on core or insaine just means that you get as much health as you roll ? Basicly even on core or insaine you have a chance to get max health ( even though this chance is very small ).

After level 9 or 10, will my warriors get full 3 points no matter what difficulty i use, or will they get between 1 and 3 ? I MIGHT reload sometimes in this case...
Great info ! THACO could still be a problem with main bosses, Abazigal and his ultra low AC....and since the sole role of Minsc ( and possibly Jaheira ) will be to survive
Why can't they attack the enemy too? One of the best defenses is a good offense.
Protective spells, yes offcourse. Even though i always feel like i am in a shoebox and oponents just keep throwing dispel magics at me which i cannot escape from.
I remember reading a thread on the Baldur's Gate forums, it may be 5 years ago. I thought the same thing you did. Back in those days, when the moon was still a little bigger, when the air smelled fresher, I learned of the adventures of Alesia_BH, and it was she who tought me of the absolute defense of mages.
Now allow me to let you in on a secret:
Most single target spells (like Breach) are stopped by Improved Invisibility.
Divination attacks (to dispel your Invisibility) are stopped by Spell Immunity: Divination.
Dispel Magic is stopped by Spell Immunity: Abjuration.
These three spells can shut down almost all your opponents' efforts to take down your defenses. With SCS2, some antimagic spells may have an area of effect, meaning: they can be cast even on invisible targets. This creates one more thread: Ruby Ray of Reversal.
To my knowledge, SCS2 enemies very rarely cast this however. If you want to complete your defenses, you could still add Spell Immunity: Alteration or simply a Spell Shield.
And even Beholders are powerless against Spell Shield.

This may by the way be vital information. SCS2 enemies will use II, SI:A and SI:D extensively. That means you need to know how to get around them, because otherwise, the first enemy mage may mean a party wipe.
I have no mods that change Comet, i just feel like it doesnt hurt to take it. Stun is nice though and non-fire damage aswell !
Have you verified this? I think it deals fire damage (and on a much smaller area of effect than Dragon's Breath).
Ok, no starting on easy, how about starting on core ? You kind of lost me with those dies.....
Starting on core or higher will result in proper rolling for HP.
i hate this anyway, when they say, you summon a 12 hit die fire elemental. Well what the hell does that really mean ? 12D10 ? You could get a single level 12 summon, or a few lower level ones.
Ok soo to clarify.
Okay. Let's try it extensively. http://social.biowar...3/index/3119197
And since it does not explicitly go into the extra hitdie thing:
If you start on easy or normal, not only do you get the maximum possible amount of HP, on top of that you also get one more die worth of HP (without constitution bonus). For a fighter, this means an extra 10 HP. For a mage it would mean an extra 4HP.

Again, maybe it is just me but this characters tend to die on me. They always get stunned, killed with some instant kill effect, feared, confused, no matter how much i protect them. Its just a pain, thats why i usualy just hide them in the corner ( this time i will do things different though, trust me ).

SCS2 changes things a bit but this is still a very powerfull combo, i even forgot that you can have more then 1 immunity running at once !

I didnt verify it but most of the ppl i heard talking said comet is not fire damage. But it doesnt matter, ignoring magic resistance sounds cheesy though, i dont think any spell exept lower resistance should go through MR. But if SCS2 didnt change it, its good i say !

Ok soo starting at level 7....with 18 constitution and being a fighter and all, may i could be is 98, it just might be as much as i got the last time ( would be logical ) and i thought it was cheating. Soo i think i want to begin with as much health as minsc has. He has about 70 at the beginning right ? That would mean 6/10 on every level up for my main, which sure is doable. Btw after level 9 or 10, do warriors always get 3 points or do they get 1-3 on insane ?

Like i said, if my main and Minsc get about 120 health by the end of the game, that will be just fine ! Wouldnt hurt to use that health-boosting-lower-difficulty since i am playing SCS2 afterall, but well, i will survive ( until first AOE :P )

ps: i dont think i will ever play noreload challange, just a straight SCS2 on insaine. :)

There are a few spells that ignore magic resistance, including but not limited to Sunfire, Bolt of Glory and Dragons Breath. Comet is not one of them. (just mentioning this because your wording makes it ambiguous whether you know this or not)

Btw after level 9 or 10, do warriors always get 3 points or do they get 1-3 on insane ?

That was explained in the link I posted (and also in the manual), but just for your convenience: It is 3HP per level for fighters.

Yeah, insane difficulty is basically just unfair against non-mages. Hitting Minsc with a critical for 60 or more points of damage will not be a rare occurence. Make sure you arm them properly (Minsc gets Defender of Easthaven and his first level spells will be Armor of Faith. First HLA: Hardiness. By the way, have you thought about changing his class to Barbarian? I think it fits him).

I knew that bolt of glory and dragons breath ignore MR and that comet doesnt, but i didnt know sunfire ignores it aswell ! But i am almost 100% that this 3 spells ignoring MR is a bug and if it is, i hope that it is fixed in some fixpacks or in SCS2. Remember, spellbook says nothing about it ignoring MR. It does say that breach ignored MR even though this is cheesy aswell.....use lower MR and then cast breach...MR means magic resistance. Its basicly the same with breach being able to hit liches in SCS2. Its cheese and its wrong, liches are immune to everything under 6 and this should apply to everything. I will offcourse install breach being able to hit liches since other components are connected to this and also if the game is planed for me to be able to use breach on liches, i might just go bald without it ! Soo, should i use dragons breathe, sunfire and bolt of glory at all now that we figured out that the spells are bugged ? Its a shame since sunfire is just awesome, level 5 spell, almost instant casting, spellcaster safe from it, good damage.....but its a cheat.

I know its normaly 3 points but why do i have ti in my memory that if i didnt reload and put it on easy i got 1-3 points.

Wont change minsc, i kind of like him as a ranger, i mean look at it....i wouldnt let him near my basil or parsley plant and i surely would not allow him to pet ANY animal, but if he thinks hes a ranger, who am i to say he is not. No wonder his charm animal doesnt work in bg2 ( or maybe i just never used it ? ). If i was a bear i would run away from him, not talk to him. :D

Its funny because never until now i properly used minsc. That is why he always ran and his, non criticals do him 40 damage, 3 hits and he is down under. Never used Julev, will this time. And with this combo i should be 85% resistant to melee damage. that means in 3 hits instead of 100 damage i will get 15, which is cute. Add to this his mirror image from the small sword, 2 stone skins from those boots or what is it, and some other tricks ! He might actualy live to tank for a moment or two. Jaheira aswell what with her iron skins which in SCS2 i belive can be cast with 1 speed just like stoneskins.

Of these three spells Sunfire is the only bugged one, as it ignores Magic Resistance for a single reason: It is targeted on the caster. (this also means that enemies casting the spell usually do not benefit from this, as the vanilla AI targets the spell on your characters)

and if it is, i hope that it is fixed in some fixpacks or in SCS2.

It isn't. A few modders thought about fixing it as part of bigger fixpacks, but refrained from doing so because the players liked their Sunfire as it was.

MR means magic resistance.

And what exactly is that? A mage with 100% MR is not immune to fire. If he puts his hand into a candle, he will get hurt. If another mage has ignited the candle previously via magic then the mage with 100% MR will still get hurt. If his enemies summon monsters, then these monsters can hurt him, despite existing only on borrowed time, therefore being magical in nature. But if these same enemies summon comets, then these comets are not supposed to hurt the mage? Why is that?
I personally dislike the concept of MR, especially since it requires a roll of a die to determine whether you evaded a spell's effect completely or took full damage.
In any case, there needs to be some set of rules to determine what constitutes damage of magical nature and what does not. The breath of a dragon is one of the most dangerous things in the world and I can understand the reasoning behind the idea that it should ignore MR.

Its basicly the same with breach being able to hit liches in SCS2. Its cheese and its wrong, liches are immune to everything under 6

Except Dispel Magic.
You could try explaining it like this. MR protects the body, but not the spells that are acting on the surface of said body. These spells can be dispelled.

I know its normaly 3 points but why do i have ti in my memory that if i didnt reload and put it on easy i got 1-3 points.

Possibly because you had a multiclass in your party?

Only sunfire is bugged ? How do you know that bolt of glory and dragons breathe isnt ( btw, i still remember my huge eyes when i first used dragons breathe, actualy when i saw in the game that i can do it....obviously because i was pwned by dragons soo many times.....even without mods, can you imagine, and on core or even less.....dragons pwned my ass. Now i like dragons and i pwn them with mods ). Are you SURE game devs wanted it to go through MR ?
But well, if SCS2 was made with this 3 lets say cheesy spells in mind and didnt correct them, i guess that by not using them i will be handicapped. And i will tell you another thing. I even decided to use traps with haerdalis ! I dont really think that this will unbalance the game too much....i wont really lay the traps and drag enemies to them, i will jsut use them when enemies spawn ( for instance last SOA battle and last TOB battle ). I belive that SCS2 mobs are made partly imune to them ( AKA i wont be able to instantly kill Kangaxx with them, or irenicus, or melissan, or draconis, i might deal some damage but wont be autokill. And thats not the point of this traps, basicly i want them to kill some minor peskies, maybe a fallen solar, though he is strong...or maybe some skellies, whatever ).

Hmm i forgot that dispel magic could hit a lich...well i guess its ok then....not sure why though, it just makes battles with liches easier, which means battles have to be made harder in some other way, i suspect pretty frustrating way, for instance that teleport field i hate, which prevents me to only battle liches with 1 or 2 characters.....do you have any idea how hard it is to keep 6 characters alive near the lich, with his 1, 2, 3 and lets deal a zillion damage and 2 zillion bad effects

Why am i ranting ? I decided that i must not allow any char of mine to get imprisoned, mazed or killed ( and ressurected ). Why ? Because honestly i dont trust bg2 to be bugfree enough to not screw my game. What do i mean ? Well, Jaheira dies, BAM, my romance is broken. I dont want that. Jaheira imprisoned, bam, no harper quest. Aerie/Haerdais die/imprisoned, BAM, their romance is broken. You see where i am going ? And this makes bg2 a LOT harder and more frustrating. -.-

I might have. Its good to know that after level 9 or 10 i dont have to reload the game anymore.

Compare Dragon's Breath to Wilting.
Wilting is level 8 and deals 20D8 points of magical damage.
Dragon's Breath has a huge disadvantage against this simply because it deals fire damage. Almost no creature in the game is invulnerable to magic damage, but fire resistence is rather common.
The damage isn't very different, being only 22% higher, and even if it has a shorter casting time, it also has a delay before doing actual damage.
The real advantage for being a spell 2 levels higher - 2 levels which put it outside of the normal magic system - is that it ignores MR.
I don't think that's a bug.

If you want to search for completely broken spells, take a look at Chain Contingency.
If you just want heavily overpowered spells, consider Improved Alacrity. These two spells are much more questionable than a spell that just ignores MR (but is stopped cold by a level 3 spell).

i might deal some damage but wont be autokill.

I'm pretty sure you can insta-kill enemies if you get them to trigger 5 Spike Traps - or if you use a number of Time Traps on them. (don't bother with the other HLA traps)

Its true that alacrity is more questinable, not getting rid of that though. And since you mentioned it.....how much do i profit if i set the game to autopause after the spell is cast while using I.Alacrity as oposed to cast it and pause, cast it and pause.....talking about those spells with 1 spell cast time.....I wont use autostops during most of the game, but i might just used that for some of the impossible fights...
You are right about dragons breath, i guess what bothers me is that there is no indication in booklet. But like i said, if SCS2 didnt correct it, then it expects that you will use it ( harm for instance was nerfed, skull trap, insect plague, power word blind, greater restoration, etc. ). Soo yeah, if there was a big problem, i am sure it would be fixed !

Same for spike traps. If they arent removed from SCS2, they should be used. Besides i read somewhere that some creatures are now immune or resistant to them, soo they cant really be used like a cheat ( i wont use them until i really REALLY get frustrated in a battle... ).

The autopause allows you to cast the next spell without cancelling the spell you are waiting for... or once the autopause kicks in, then you know it is safe to start casting a different spell.

To do the Trademeet quest with Mazzy you MUST first kill the Shade Lord & AFAIK also the slums bar-pit fight or she will never get the message.

p.s.
IMO autopause on end of round is the worse case because the game engine tracks all party members Introvertly i.e. with a six man party you will get six pauses per combat round.

You can kill the Shade Lord without Mazzy but you need her to get the bar-pit fight quest (yes the cocky halfork)... after that a runner will come up to her sooner or later and ask for help.

Note that kicking Mazzy from the party will unlock Trademeet if it has not otherwise already been unlocked.

Ok soo i can finish the umar hills quest without her....then i go get her and head to coronet. And there i can do this bar-pit fight. What is it about anyway, should i kill that half ork or give him the potion of horny or what ?
I also have 2 other questions. In bridge, valeria band of goons. Why cant i remember this fight ?
Another thing, Cernd child. There is not much info about it. I come to the evil bad mage and i can either fight him and the lich, kill them both and take the child, OR i can persuade them to give me the child. In this case will they come after me soo i can kill them ? It says they will come in 3 days but are you sure ? I dont plan to let this two idiots live....
I usualy play with simpson guide opened because even after all this time, i sometimes forget about something or maybe i dont know ( for instance, only now i realised that the charmed guy in dearnise can be charmed and therefor survive...since i play as a goody goody, this IS importaint ). And i plan to turn the guide upside down to make sure i loot every house, kill every baddy bad, get every gem....can you imagine ? I didnt know about those goons in bridge, valeria was she ? Or maybe i just forgot, but anyway yeah, i will have to do some reading about that.

If you want Mazzy;

IMO you should go and get her at the very start because then she will only be about level 8 & only has a single point in short-swords (i.e. you can build her up as you like)... if however you wait longer to go get her then she will be a higher level and will have spent all her points in short-swords.

Shade Lord is the reason most people wait to collect Mazzy because they mistakenly believe that you have to fight the Shade Lord at that time... not true... you can certainly fight him now (Clerics) but you can also just rescue Mazzy and leave.

Note that SCS Shade Lord & SCS Improved Shade Lord are much tougher fights than in the vanilla game... bring your anti-level-drain purse with you for this dance.

The pit fight;
Option 1: Procure the LOVE potion from the old guy (staircase) and talk his Girl (walks around a bit but always near the fire pits) into slipping it to him... highest exp rewarded.

Option 2: Refuse to purchase the LOVE potion and let Mazzy fight honourably... less exp rewarded (assuming she wins the fight).
Note that Mazzy starts the fight with only a normal short-sword (no armour or buffs) but she can cast ‘Heal’, ‘Strength’ and ‘Speed’ buffs on herself as fast casting buffs... go for speed first.

I suspect the original idea behind this quest was to teach people about using Mazzys’ special paladin buffs.

I dont want Mazzy in my team, i just want to recruit her to do her quests and then kick her out. I will go with option 2, i dont like cheating. ;)

Dual at level 9 or 13. Still cant decide. Thank god i dont have time to play bg2 right now...it would be a tough decision. Basicly the only thing i have in mind is the last fight. And yes, when i use all time stop spells and scrolls and when there is only melissan, i will gang her....and every sword will count because she has to go down quick before she gates in a million demons which with SCS2 are even harder to kill then otherwise.

Still cant decide. But this 4 level difference is 1 extra attack when i have improved haste ( which lets face it, i will always have ).

If you can manage it, I think 13 is better - don't forget that a fighter gets a huge bonus to his saves (+2 I think) at level 13 too...the follow up question would be then can you survive as the mage long enough to regain fighter levels, if so you are in business.

I can survive as a mage AND hanging suspended by my legs while playing it, until i get my levels back, soo that is not a problem, it would be good if i could become a whole character before the last fight of SOA since yeah, that is a bit tricky fight.

+2 saves, yes, we forgot to mention that, since well lets face it, this IS importaint. Also more health, 1 extra attack, much needed thaco, extra rages.....i think by going 13 instead of 9 i will lose about 2 mage levels ? Why do i ask that ?

I will reach 20 on my mage in TOB no doubt. Therefor levels are less important because after 20 you dont get improved with various 1D8 spells per level and such ( 20 is the limit ). Mage doesnt have soo many HLA you wanna take again and again ( unlike fighter who never has enough hardiness, etc. ). If i am correct i get my HLAs when i have 3.000.000 in both classes together. Which would mean HLAs are no argument whatsoever....since i will have enough of them. Or is this different then multiclass and i have to wait until mage is 18 ? But in either case...i do remember from the last time i played kensei/mage and dualed at 9 that i was frustrated because of his bad thaco. Anyway....those 4 levels of fighter will bring my character a lot more then 2 levels in mage i think....

Level 13 as a fighter means you can progress up to level 28 as a mage. One more level as a mage would mean 1 more level 8 spell.

You are not correct and on two accounts even.
1. Dualclasses only get HLAs when their current class has reached 3 000 000 XP.
2. Even in multiclass combinations, mage HLAs will only be available once the mage is able to use them (for most of them that means: once the mage class has more than 3 000 000 XP)

Last time i didn't take Yosh (but wanted to keep Imoen): I had to leave the other behind so they were gone for good (once i left).
The only way to have avoided that would have been to reject imoen, but then you won't have her for the underdark.

It was already decided that yoshi will remain in the pub until i leave for spellhold. Or did you write in the wrong topic ?

Humanoid_Taifun: I am known to be wrong on many accounts. Level 28 in mage yes, but since i will have a full party that is not important. From level 9 to level 13 i use about a million experience points. Which means i lose about 2 mage levels by the end of a game, for instance i will be level 22 instead of level 22 (or maybe 20 instead of 22 since i have a full party.. ). But still, look at this:

http://www.playithar...gression_Charts

Is this thing accurate ?? Level 9 saving throws: 8/10/9/9/11 vs level 13 saving throws: 5/7/6/5/8
But this is kind of confusing, i will have this later saving throws when i am 13, when i dual i get saving throws of mage....how about when i reach level 14 with a mage, what will my saving throws be, what about when i am 13/18 ?

Ok HLAs when mage is 18. About multiclass i was thinking about jaheira. When she reaches 3.000.000 she can use all fighter HLAs and i think also all druid HLas ( level 14 druid can cast level 7 spells ).

Btw there are soo many things i will do differently this time. Using scrolls is one. Playing fair is another ( no money steal/sell or experience scroll write/delete/rewrite ). Gathering ALL items is another. Seriously i plan to be a horder. I plan to keep everything that could be usefull, for instance even some weak weapon +1 that has protection from fear or/and charm. Could be usefull, maybe when someone casts a spell at me, if i am fast enough i can pause and equip that. This is not cheating is it ?! And that protection from death magic. Isnt there an item that protects ? Soo someone casts Dalzim at you, you run somewhere where u are along, equip it, no damage, fun fun.
What i also plan is be carefull about my saving throws. Usualy i didnt check them much, just equiped everything that improved them. Well not this time. I will see which saving throws are more importaint then others and which characters have which saving throws. For instance if someone has saving throw 2/2/2/2/5, offcourse i will try to improve the 5. Btw which saving throws are most usefull and which the least ? Btw this makes the ring of protection +2 very usefull. Have to be sure its "compatible" with an armor but massive +2 boost on all saving throws, thats awesome !
Oh i am gonna have soo much fun. Just have to complete this college thingys. Oh, and repair my back soo i can sit again without unheavenly "stabbing in the back" pain. I miss bg2 :/
Thank you all for this wonderfull chat about bg2...i feel like a junky who cant get his fix, but gets some other thingy like erm, sleeping pill or 10 beers to get him high and feel less bad about not getting his bg2 fix. xD
