At times it can be alright, but the majority of the time its pretty bad. I just slugged through hours of it to get a couple of trophies.
It should never have been in game and whatever money was used to make the MP should have been put towards the single player campaign (the story inconsistencies and plotholes is a mess) and perhaps added some more content to make our choices actually matter.

MP is just an EA cash grab to get people to buy into the microtransaction scheme and to include an online pass.

Nah, no multiplayer for me. I play ME mainly for the story and RPG elements not just to shoot scum.

No. In my opinion, multiplayer is a serious waste of resources better used for enhancing the single player experience.

Edit: Multiplayer should NEVER have affected Single Player in any significant way. At most, MP should only have unlocked the odd weapon or armor set in SP.

The Singleplayer wasn't affected especially when the Bioware team that created a seperate MP based ME game did the ME3 MP based oon how their project got cancelled.

There are whiners calling for nerfs on the mp forums.Of a co-op game. CO-OP! I enjoy the occasional horde-mode, loved the pinnacle station of ME1, but i loathe the playerbase of multiplayer.

It seems like most of the complaining is coming from people that don't have the weapons, class, races, or upgrades.  It could also be coming from some players that don't know how to play or spec the different  weapons, class, races, or upgrades.  I'm still surprised that some people are calling for nerfs in a co-op game as well.

I totally agree with this. I would also like to point out that EA already destroyed a great RPG company (Origin Systems) because of MP. I hope Bioware is not the next.

I'm not an EA fan, but a lot of companies have closed studios this year  like Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, 2k, Rockstar, THQ, Activision, Ubisoft, and Square Enix.  Closing down studios is just a part of business in the video game and film industies.  Btw a lot SP games have adopted MP in their games while we need to get used to that change.

You could say that any game that has MP in it especially when its under Free-to-Play.

Yes. Problem is, ME3 multi-player is designed to be annoying to get people to buy packs with real money - the random crate system was the most complained about thing in the demo, and they kept it.

In America's #1 war-themed hat simulator, all weapons are side-grade (fact is, if a guy has a Widow and you don't then he'll do better than you, so you need to either grind or pay to be able to compete with him), drops are tradeable, and purchased items are mostly cosmetic.

But Mass Effect 3 isn't free to play. I paid for it. I don't have to pay to play CoD but I do have to pay to play ME3 without the annoyance of not getting the items I want (by buying enough packs to exhaust all the possible drops I don't want)

The irony here is you don't need to buy a single create with real world money while its not their faults for creating a good MP with a game of chance added in.

Weapons don't make you better then other players especially when you need to have a good weapon to match up with your class and race to be a good player.  Btw I could careless if TF2 is better then ME3 because its not a debate on which shooter is better.  I hope you didn't forget that the most of the things in ME3's MP applies to TF2 as well,

There's a huge straw-mann based on how you need to pay to play with both games while thats excluding the VIP pass.  If you're really so determined aginst the VIP pass then wait until that specific game is $20 if you have the paitence to wait like me.  Btw there's no items in CoD that act as if you're playing TF2, ME3, or LoL.

I've played it. It is fun. It's like a surprisingly good warm up band w/ a one hit wonder under its belt. Great fun for a while, but gets boring and really, I came for the main show anyway.

it was also said that Bioware spend most of their time making the MP. If thats true, then why come up with the least favorite game mode from Gears of War Horde mode

The problem with the multi-player is all it is, is a Horde mode.

Now the new maps and objective type help add some variety but at the end of the day it is a still just a Horde mode. 10 waves of doing nothing but shooting enemies.

It is fun for a while but it is hard to see how Bioware is going to keep people playing when other franchises offer a Horde mode and competitive multi-player.

EA are very quick to shut-down servers when a game's player base drops too low, so Bioware really need to do something to keep the player base in Mass Effect 3 alive.

No thanks OP I dont like Co Op (it sucks). I prefer Vs. mode.

Also, if I wanted to play Horde Mode I would play Gears of War 2 or 3 (as Epic Games did Horde Mode better then Bioware).

Beeing forced into multiplayer to get a better ending to a SINGLEplayer game
is nothing short of an insult to the gamers considering it was promoted pre release
that multiplayer part of the game did NOT affect the singleplayer part.

Mass effect WAS a singleplayer storydriven game and should have stayed that way.

the resources used for MP should have been used to make ME3 into the game
it was suppose to have been. a hole extra team could have helped polish the game.

so many things was rushed to get it finished in time the developing team should be embarrased
over the quality of the product...

(Qoute and insert your own "rushed" part of the game):D

and dont even get me started on the fact that the multiplayer part of the game is
reduced to a FREE TO PLAY concept using microtransitions,
in what can at best be described as a lotterysystem and at worst...

i cant write the worst. i'd get banned for doing so.
but lets just say its like batheo or evony and other games like that
were those that pay extra get an advantige that in this case stretches all the way into the
singleplayer portion..

I was thinking more of a seperate story where you play as the Mp characters you pick, that fits into the story

I think multiplayer provides a nice break from the story mode. I like getting to play other races. It is annoying trying to unlock other races, but I suppose that is the point. MP is good practice for me since I'm a lousy shot (hence my affinity for the adept and engineer class) and I can honestly say that my aim has gotten better. I just hate getting kicked by elitists, but I suppose that applies to every mmo.

There would be no reason for another Bioware studio to work on the SP especially when they wanted to do a MP for ME3 since their MP only ME got canceled, which it was similar to Star Wars: Battlefront.  Btw ME3 wasn't rushed at all especially when production and developement for ME3 started when ME2 was being produced and developed.

Multiplayer's been a very pleasant surprise for me. It's a lot of fun to play with different classes and builds and to try out new weapons as I unlock them. Kind of annoyed I still don't even have a Wraith I, though. Stop giving me Javelins, RNG! Do not want!

Still, I don't blame people for not liking it. I've never had any interest in multiplayer gaming, myself. Only reason I even tried ME3's is because it's free to play online on PS3. If I was on XBox and was expected to be paying for a monthly subscription in order to get the best ending, I'd be livid. Glad EC fixed that.

I think I have enough war assets from multiplayer promotions to earn two "best" endings in one playthrough.
