- pulling enemies out of cover
- flinging enemies out of the map (once you practice this a bit)
- staggering heavies
- keeping Phantoms off balance (and not shooting you)
- and of course setting off BE's

Or treat it like skeet shooting

Also skeet shooting, lash enemies into the air and let your teammates try to kill them before they land.

On my adept, I find it useful on small maps to bring a phantom within smash range for a biotic explosion. Small maps limit the landing zone of the lashed enemy, funneling them closer to you.
I'm conscious of not ripping away my teammates targets, as I do not want to be considered a lashole.

You can fit a heavy melee into the CD after lash if you're pulling them in to set up for smash.vonSlash wrote...
You generally shouldn't be lashing a target towards you unless you're trying to set up a Smash opportunity. Curve Lash so that it tosses enemies into the air or (preferably) off the map.

Exactly. This is good practice for enclosed maps like Glacier.

I'm having trouble figuring out how to use Lash effectively, and I also don't really understand what it's meant to do. I must be missing something with this, because on the surface it doesn't seem like pulling an opponent behind your back is very useful. It also doesn't help when most of the time I see people use it, they Lash an enemy and then forget about the enemy. Usually the enemy still has health left and is now in a position to sneak attack. So it seems to do more harm than good, at least in how I've seen it used thus far.
So, what is the point of Lash, and how does one use it effectively?

1. Can you see an enemy? If so, go to 2. If not, go to 5.
2. Is the enemy susceptible to Lash? If so, go to 3. If not, go to 4.
3. Lash it.
4. Lash it anyway.
5. Lash a team mate to show them you mean business.

I would think that anyone using Lash to hit an opponent dead on and pull them right back toward themselves or the team is a failure.

Lash is probably the most effective power for one-hit kills by simply Lashing them off the map. I believe that lash works like pull in that the angle at which the power hits the enemy determines which way the enemy floats. So if you've got evolution 6 shield/barrier penetration turned on and the bounds of the map are to the right of an enemy, aim slightly to the right, so that the power curves into the enemy and yanks them right out of the map.

This is really fun only silver and bronze. On hydra, camp by the water fall and lash everything coming u[p the ramp and if they are on the cat walk curve it up to lash them into the waterfall. Agin, you can do this easily on other maps like goddess and dagger, but hydra is the most fun

1. Buy a lash
2. Take off your pants
3. Decide the rear or the front part to be lashed
4. Agreement should be reached between the lasher and the lashee, failed on resolution, called your mom to decide
5. Lasher use the dominant hand and grab the lash. Swing a few times to get the desire force.
6. Lasher now aim at the rear/front target and just whoop it as hard as you can. (They said, if it's not red, it's not done)
7. CmnDwnWrkn say thank you for being taught how to lash
Case closed!

I wouldn't have put it quite this way, but basically this. Its major use is as a detonator for other biotic powers (as well as Overload, Energy Drain, etc.), and to break up enemy formations. It can additionally be used to yank something into Smash range, as long as you're fast.OblivionDawn wrote...
You need to use it on anything that moves, and you need to ignore the teammates that can't adapt.
That's how you use Lash.
But it's also good for breaking up enemy formations (as long as you follow the kill-what-you-steal rule) and causing general chaos. Which can be downright fun.
