"xXGangsta733tSnip3rXx" I see something that looks like this and know it will be bad and 9/10 times I'm right. Also seems like a high likelihood of being yelled at by someone whom sounds like their 12 over the mic for kill stealing.

xXx*insert 31337snipxornamek1l4ahxXx.
if you ever see a name following this template, prepare for some hefty carrying.

I'll play with just about anyone, but I keep my eye on people who have too many X's in their name.

Absolutely, if they have a number at the end of their name, they're almost certainly the worst player ever and should be booted without question.

Based on your reaction here, I'm guessing I should rethink changing mine to SilentButDeadly, huh?

I have been known to cringe once in a while when entering a public lobby seeing the names some users have.

I find anything with "someone the KILLER" is a bad sign. Image IPB

Anyone else find any naming stereotypes?

In StarCraft 1, seeing a name like LUKE211041 was always a bad sign. They either lagged, or were retarded.
Not because of the "luke" but because it's all capitals and numbers.

In ME3 MP, I never really noticed a trend of any kind. Some are good, some are not. It's just better to check the weapon loadout.

Do the multiple X's mean anything? I am honestly completely clueless to this and have seen players with this in the gamertags.

It's a way to get around the fact that many names are already taken. If you wanted to be Dark Katana, but there's already a "Dark Katana", it's possible "xxDarkKatanAxx" is still free.

I'm "Vorpal Sword", in case anyone is curious.

I try not judge anyone based on their name. I do cringe when ppl mispronounce my name however. I guess I can't blame them since it's not a common spelling of "eon"

Not skill but maturity. Anything that sounds "cool" or has to do with drugs means they are in their teens. I once had some kid that had yet to reach puberty swear the whole match cus we couldn't revive him every time he got himself killed. I'm pretty sure his name was something idiotic like ghost killa or something.

The only one spings to mind is a female character from Inazuma Eleven  ... a particularly mind numbing anime cartoon you wished you'd never seen :]

Heh, yeah anything of the "sniper" variant is usually a bad sign... once in awhile they actually are boss snipers, but usually they're carrying heavy @s$ weapons on caster classes and doing mostly nothing all game.

420'ers are usually bad players as well. Probably because they're way too high to be playing. (Not that I blame them, I'd love to be high as well)

You cant always judge a book by its cover... but you usually can.

(Knowing nod)

Much like an undercover operative would never outright tell someone else they are an undercover operative, the same rule applies for video game "snipers". Expertly expounded upon by the Geto Boys in "Damn it Feels Good to Be a Gangsta":

But real gangsta-ass n***** don't flex n*ts
'cause real gangsta-ass n***** know they got em

Also, though it's stereotyping, drug/420 names simply increase the chance that the so-named player is either high as a kite, wishes they were, or are in the process of becoming so.

Nah in my experience, name means little in terms of a player's skill. I do not judge people by their gamer tag, and I hope no one judges me by my gamer tag.

I don't think so, not for PC users anyways.

Don't know about Xbox360 users though.... there's so much thug life.
