Hey, now, some of us just use it to get the names we want. Mine is a nickname that was given to me years ago as I drunkenly imitated Greg Graffin's spoken-word intro to a Bad Religion song. It's on 80-85, for any fans out there who are wondering which song I mean. The nickname has followed me all the way through the last fifteen years or so, including a deployment to Iraq during which I wore it on my IBA.

Trust me, while I can hold my own in Gold, I'm not trying to look/sound 1337. Heck, I'm not even sure I typed 1337 properly (it is a 1, right?). You'll note that aside from the X's, my GT is properly spelled and looks, in my opinion, neat and tidy.

As to the OP, I find the worst ones usually refer to the gamer as some sort of "god." Typically, they are not.

To some extent. A lot of numbers after a word such as "shadow", "killer" or even "shepard" usually don't bode well for the match.

But every once in a while I run into someone with the most ludicrous name and they play really well. I have also seen one or two COD references, but I don't remember any of them being outrageously bad.

So not the best way of judging someone, but sometimes I can't help it.

Well, I now commonly use a name styled with "X's" (A tribute to a fellow gamer that passed away) Never gotten kicked or bias for it, although I can understand where OP is coming from.

Don't have a problem with "X's". And I'd never kick someone for their name.

I didnt knew. Any logic behind that reference?

Anyway, I usually try not to judge based on a gamertag. Chances are it was made 7 years ago as an immature teenager, and the adult playing now just doesnt care about the name. (or doesnt want to pay to change it)

My Origin ID was originally the same as this (I use this name everywhere), but I switched it to reflect my anticipation of Phantasy Star Online 2 (was WaitingForPSO2). Now that PSO2 is in OB and soon to be full release, I changed it to HUnewearl (female Newman hunter in PSO).

Basically, if the name is a hardcore gaming reference, you're probably good. If it's xXGenericNameXx stuff, you're probably in for a rough ride.

There's some sort of April 20th tradition thingy among weed smokers when they all gather and smoke weed, despite being illegal and all, while also having various permanent unforeseeable side-effects on your entire nervous system.

So I don't do that and cannot fathom why anyone would.
