Good.

Gold is the highest difficulty. Not everyone should be able to easily play it. Hell- very FEW people should be able to EASILY play it. The difficulty levels aren't there just so we can wake up and ask ourselves "gee, I wonder how many credits I want to make today". They are there to be more difficult.

I'm all for Gold being more difficult. If people don't like it, they can hop back down to Silver. And if they don't like that- there's Bronze.

Iif it were the case, I'll be totally honest & say I would. I have no delusions about playing in silver/bronze relating to my masculinity or what kind of husband/father I am or anything of the sort.

My issue here (shame on me for not elaborating in my earlier post but I thought why continue to beat a dead horse) is that the last time they buffed the bad guys, they made the geth annoying & laborious, in my opinion. This also seems to be the consensus amongst most people who post in these forums. Whether or not thats the majority of all players, we'll never know but if you don't vote, don't ****** & moan about what a sh*tty job the president is doing.

So how about this, if this game is too easy for you, why don't you only play with an smg or see if you could get 50+ kills with each gun or something?

Why is it that the seemingly majority has to play the game the top few hundred people in the world are playing?

My problem with making this game laborious & tedious is that its not going to be as much fun & in my opinion, a step in the wrong direction.

I suggest for people to keep playing the game, but at a lower difficulty-
-you suggest for me to just not play the game at all.

This is the doing/result of the constant whining by elitists in the game.  Spoiling all the fun all the time - nerf this, nerf that, make Gold harder, I don't want people playing Gold if they're not good enough, etc.  Such childish nonsense and you wonder why Bioware listen to them, but sadly they do.  Squeaky wheels.

Thankfully, that's why we have the "Report" and "Block" buttons- so I don't have to deal with people who misuse these forums.

So the highest difficulty shouldn't be hard? Yes, I guess I am an elitist because I believe only elite players should be able to clear gold regularly. If any random can clear the hardest setting then what does that say about lower difficulties? I have a feeling most people just want easy credits and no challenge; why, so you can get your awesome gun that just makes the game even easier? I'm sorry that I think Gold should be very challenging. As InfamousResult said you can always scale down if the challenge is too great. You can't scale up if the highest difficulty is too easy.

I really hope you guys don't make Cerberus into the same sorry state the Geth are in as far as artificial difficulty. I'll have to start playing Reapers exclusively.

A.I. buffs - fine, more interesting/different spawning - fine, difficult various objectives - fine.

But the problem is - these things require work, testing, imagination and of course money and time. So we'll just plainly buff the enemy. Give them more health/shields, buff the damage/speed and call it good. Hardcores will like it, because they like shooting that Marauder in the head 20 times with a Widow. 

That's not difficult. That's just a bad/lazy solution to make the game "harder" But it's not harder. It's just more boring and frustrating.

I play Gold a lot. And I find myself going back to Silver a lot more often now, because on Silver I can at least enjoy the game a little bit more.

No issues with it being hard.  But not by uber elitist standards.  Hard for the average player but not impossible for them is plenty fine.  You can't make a level that's so hard that few people can ever aspire to live up to that level in the game.  There should be a progression from Silver to Gold.

If people have played Gold a while and its gotten easy for them, then you shouldn't be asking for it to be harder cause you're bored.  Be graceful to the people that come after you, they require reasonable progression.  You've gotten your money's worth already and conquered the hardest challenge.  Don't need to spoil it for everyone else.

That's why elitism as I see it is a very bad thing because the only reason Gold's gotten easy is because some people have played more and gotten more unlocks and so on, so its definitely easier for some.  Its not even that some players are truly better, they've just played longer thus have improved more at things.

There is nothing wrong with Bioware upping the difficulty. If the new challenge means you have to drop down to improve, then you'll be a better player for it.

I agree nobody wants bullet sponges. The loss of boss weak points was the wrong decision imo, and I hope such changes don't happen again. Challenge can be implemented in others ways such as movement speed, RoF, or even executions-we'll just have to wait and see.

Gold Cerberus is fun. The other two? Not so much. Tone down the geth stun lock, give the Banshees a predictable sync-kill (or somewhat predictable) and maybe people would play those factions more. The only time I really enjoy fighting geth is with a Kroguard. Reapers are a good challenge when they're not pulling out cheap instakills.

That being said, I'm interested to see what buffs they're planning for Cerberus. I'm hoping they can maintain a balance between "challenging" and "enjoyable".

I never said it was wrong for them to do so - but for them to only do so to a level as desired by some on these forums would be a tragedy.  Even dropping a level everyone notices the changes - and a lot of people would rather keep the game fun at all levels (meaning a real challenge at Gold, but not a chore).  If they up the difficulty the way they did with Geth, and removing headshot on Prime and weakspot on Atlas, it all sucks the fun factor out of the game.

That's a question Bioware will have to address...  clearly the majority audience in this game is far from super hardcore except for a select group.  They need to figure out how to keep the challenge levels balanced, and keep it real.  Suck the fun out of the game, and they'll start losing players at some point more than the addition of new ones, and new ones won't stay very long either.

Why not?  In fact, some games do.  I would love to see a new difficulty that is so hard it actually requires me to use all my best items, have a plan, and play as a team to even have a remote chance at beating it.  Of course it won't be for everyone (which is why there are multiple difficulty levels) but to me that would be very fun.  Gold has become tedius and a bit boring.  I just try to use weird weapon/character combos to keep it interesting.

Anyways, I think the nemesis and guardian could use a buff as they both do little to nothing right now.

Some good reasons...

Its CO-OP multiplayer.
The fan base these sorts of titles have a large core that are not the hardcore PvP types in some other games.
The progression balance would be skewed too much so there would be no more progression...  this is important as it allows skills to be developed at one level that can allow progression to the next.

But if they really wanted to continue making it harder, then the right thing to do would be to add a Platinum level.  That would allow for more difficulty than the day 1 baseline plan of the game development.

Btw - repeat anything enough times, and it will get tedious, yeah?  I'm not trying to be mean but really its an indication that someone's already "won" the game at that point, so there's really little else left.  Take a break, wait for some new DLC, or play another new game?

By that logic the entire current playerbase should quit for new people....

You're either a troll or..well...can't say because I'm probably skirting a ban anyway and then how would I get to laugh at people?

Edit:  I figured out a nice way to say it.

I don't think bioware would be inclined to make the entire playerbase quit,
