Anyone know if it's intentional that Phantoms ignore biotic combos and damage on a regular basis ??


Phantoms can ignore biotic effects when they have their hand raised.  If you pop them a few times with your weapon, they'll flip and then they're vulnerable to biotic effects.

If great players 'never' fail a gold run, then it's not doing it's job as the Hard difficulty. Maybe they only lose 2 out of every 10 games, but that loss ratio 'must' exist to maintain a concept of balance.

Now, true balance would be a 5/5 win/loss ratio... but games aren't about to do that at the top level, because as people have pointed out, winning is fun. But Hard, by nature, needs to beat you down now and again. There's no actual challenge if you never lose.

However, 5/5 'is' an appropriate ratio for a group of average players in Gold, and likely 8/2 win/loss in Silver. That's good, challenging content.

If they do that, I think a lot of players will decide there are better games out there.
I guess we'll have to see what Bioware do to buff cerberus. A lot of angst could have been avoided if we were simply given a general idea of the changes intended.

Given their track record I think we're justified in worring they're going to give nemesis's a rocket launcher and stunlock us for a phantom to chime in with an instakill.

Iif it were the case, I'll be totally honest & say I would. I have no delusions about playing in silver/bronze relating to my masculinity or what kind of husband/father I am or anything of the sort.

My issue here (shame on me for not elaborating in my earlier post but I thought why continue to beat a dead horse) is that the last time they buffed the bad guys, they made the geth annoying & laborious, in my opinion. This also seems to be the consensus amongst most people who post in these forums. Whether or not thats the majority of all players, we'll never know but if you don't vote, don't ****** & moan about what a sh*tty job the president is doing.

So how about this, if this game is too easy for you, why don't you only play with an smg or see if you could get 50+ kills with each gun or something?

Why is it that the seemingly majority has to play the game the top few hundred people in the world are playing?

My problem with making this game laborious & tedious is that its not going to be as much fun & in my opinion, a step in the wrong direction.

I'm not a kid being sponsored to go on a world championship fps video game tour. If it's easy for THAT guy, too Effin bad.  We out number your lot 100 to 1.  tie your damn arm behind your head or something. Don't turn a game into a kazio mod just to make 100 players out of 100,000 happy.  That's ass backwards.

I can't believe people are complaining about them making Gold harder.

It's the highest level of difficulty in the game. It's supposed to be hard.

Seriously BIOWARE you got some internal tester saying that the cerberus are easier! So what !

I thought that we the player that bought the game and build up that comunity was your priority but it's seems not to be the case. You should consider our stats first (not the stats from some fully RED BULL dopped guy pay to test the game) if you do have means to tract them or maybe you did not implement sufficient means to track our data on the server?

About my quote on the tester i mean no offense i just what to express my frustration. They do a great job testing the game and everything but it still ****** me of when they say "the ennemies are to easy on a co-op game"

Are you intented to mess up the cerberus enemies like you previously done with the Geth Hunter (You stun a geth Hunter and he will still drop shots on you). BIOWARE youshould fixe this first.

Considering their track record with these balance changes, they'll buff defences, speed, damage, range. Anything other is unfounded conspiracy and doomthinking that oft surrounds these changes.

The Geth had stunlock abilities since day one. The fact that a Hunter isn't effected by stagger or that a Rocket Trooper can fire bursts of rockets isn't a buff to the Geth, it's a bug with the Geth.

EDIT: SPJeanfritz the stats they are refering to are their game tracking data. It's not just internal testing.

Needs more MLG ME3. Two competing teams can play with identical loadouts/maps/enemies on Super Platinum Uranium difficulty and whoever gets the fastest time wins. There, ME3 is now a competitive multiplayer experience and "the 1%" of top gamers get to stroke their epeen by competing with other talentless "professional gamers" while the people who don't care for such things can stick to silver and gold. Everyone wins.

Yeo. Stop letting the geth cheat by shooting through walls, shooting when down, shooting you after youre invisible and have MOVED.

Reapers are hard because they are really hard!!! Geth arr hard because they cheat. Cerberus is fine the way it is.

I would think someone has already mentioned it, but after playing a match on Tuchanka against the Geth on Gold difficulty, I think some serious balancing considerations are due, Eric. There's no reason Wave 1 should feel like Wave 8, and lately the Geth seem rather privy to flank from unusual spawn points (or is that normal now having them spawn and attack from different areas?)

What sets the Geth apart from Cerberus/Reapers on Gold is that the other two factions utilize tactical maneuvers. Troopers/Cannibals attack, and Engineers/Marauders flank or setup traps. The Geth simply just siege your position. The advance and advance until you're down. And if you're able to be revived, you're either within their ranks now, or they're still on top of your position. This is, in fact rather frustrating for many players.

It doesn't help however the other well known bugs. I was shot down by a Hunter already under the effects of Singularity. Not to mention all the random flankings, walking through stasis bubbles, Rocket troopers doubling or even tripling their shots, and let's not even start on the Primes. I do believe something must seriously be reviewed when fully maxed and well-speced, medium/light-class kits/characters have a survivability/lifespan of maybe 3 seconds, if that. And much of that - I really must note - is lost in the lengthy revival animation. As soon as you're revived by a teammate, you're already under fire, and I don't believe you're at all impervious to it. It's frustrating to not even have time to either take aim or find cover.

I'm not making any demands, but merely making a solid statement that the Geth are definitely in need of serious review for balancing and/or debugging. Cerberus may seem "easy" in comparison, but I believe they and the Reapers are already a fair challenge in comparison to the Geth onslaught. Please take note of this.

Guardians and the plural form of Nemesisies need to be more deadly. Right now Guardians are one shotted and do nothing, and it's been a few months since I saw "player got shot down by a Nemesis".

I think the best way to buff enemies is by giving them new tough Troop types. This way two birds could be killed:
Difficulty-increased
Fun-increased

but who cares about fun when you could just give Turrets stunlock, for example? Or make Nemesis ignore shield gate?

As several have pointed out, we got huge buffs lately with super weapons and permanent gear and level IV ammo. Cerberus could use a buff to balance this up a bit. I love guardians as they are, actually, nothing more satisfying than mailshotting them, but can be alarming with the wrong class/weapon combo against them. Atlas and Nemesis don't live up to their names, sadly. Agree with buffing them.

Javelin buff please! I will keep say until this is done! The duration nerf of tactical cloak has really downgraded the poor Javelin. I love geth weapons. However, I don't play extremely often like 8 hours a day and so my javelin is level 1. Really frustrating how the widow is a better alternative.

I believe more bug fixing & buffing should be in order first.

Since day one, Assault Rifles need a massive damage boost (increase there damage by 50%, but remove the head shot bonus or something). Collector Assault Rifle ... is anyone on the dev team gonna do anything about it being stuck at lvl 1 ?

Make Sub Machine Guns useful. They are supposed to be shield eaters right ? Or make them stagger the enemies (with talents).

I don't use power/weapon consumables (I play on Xbox & the risk of bull sh*t is too high). I want to use them, but it feels like that carrot is smacking me in the face to play multiplayer instead of temping me forward. To be frank, I'd rather spend a million credits & get a permanent lvl 1 weapon power (fire/frost/warp/ap) than play roulette on the crates.

Too many weapons feel like "I have to be the host" only type weapons. I understand the need for cool animations when doing stuff, but make the code in the game for all guns to work the same for hits.

When can I customize my power button placement for multiplayer !?

I should be hard pressed to decide between running & gunning, and power spamming. Most of the time it's power spam, cause it's free.

The guns again need better balancing. I should be excited to use the N7 Hurricane. Or should I use M-4 Shuriken ? I'm not excited, having fun deciding or asking those types questions.

The UI still needs work. (PC people still need text chat right ?). A Latency Meter to the host ... PLEASE ! I shouldn't have to scroll right/left to see all my characters. Make the male/females toggle back & forth to save room, shrink them, something. Make the skin tones actually change something. Logos or tattoos maybe ?

I still can't tell the difference from the screen on what changes my weapons have (from lvl I to X), put some numbers up there !

This list can go on & on ... point is, it feels like I'm playing with Atari Pong type restrictions in the CoD:MW3 engine. Don't get me started about the holes (literally) in the walls either.

I'm a little confused:
Does "difficult" mean "frequent"? I read BW quoted data about mathces vs Cerberus but I cannot understand how can they deduce "difficulty" from the mere number of completed matches.
Sometimes persons play more frequently against an enemy for a great number of reasons the data cannot explain.
 I was puzzled with the infiltrators data too. It seemed TC was overpowered because many persons played infiltrators.
I doubt data can explain the reason a player does something, at least not data alone.

Anyway since they don't plan to alter phantoms I believe the game won't change a lot.
Just a note: I play mainly public matches so I often found unskilled players. I hope any future "balance" will not make public games less fun.
