I'm beginning to think that all these "balance" changes are just a ploy to get rid of all of the players except for the very best gamers, and get rid of us riff-raff. If that is the point......... well.... it's starting to work with me. I want to keep loving this game, but, I am getting very close to losing interest completely.

Yes sliver, it's all a f****ng conspiracy ploy from BW because they hate you and everyone in these forums. Yes, indeed, they don't want people playing their game.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. :pinched:

Actually, from a business standpoint, it does make sense. When sales of the game start to fade, multiplayer servers simply become an unnecessary expense. You have to be subtle; drive them away with small, annoying changes that make small portions quit at a time. Though it depends on how much money the store is making them, since the DLC is free.

The fact that all the MP DLC is free should tell you that they're still making a good bit of money from packs.

When you reach that point, you just shut down the servers.  It's not that complicated.

I lol'd

Cerberus were always easy, with Geth there is a matter of keeping distance, they stomp way to fast and charge like Paladins from D2, Reapers are on the other hand OP, Banshee is the most difficult enemy to kill and there's the Ravager and Brute, omg

No. The business reason to keep continously buffing enemies is to make sure that a) people don't trivialize content and make a lot of in-game credits and B) to make the game more dependant on high level weapons and gear. The idea is to make buying packs with real money more attractive both because it's easier than doing Gold, and because you need to have better gear to play Gold in the first place.

A Platinum difficulty would have to give out more credits, making the microtransactions less attractive. And it would require testing and development time. A lose/lose for Bioware.

I wouldn't mind seeing Cerberus getting a little buff, especially if it stops them from being a one-trick pony. But please listen to all of the complaining about Geth. The cheapness just has got to stop. My suggestions are lowering the Hunters' ROF and either returning headshots to Primes in the wake of the TC nerf or nerfing their turrets somehow. P.S., the extended range on the Pyros may have been a bit much. You can't even run away from them after using a gel or being revived; their range outlasts your invulnerability and your health.

Also, since you are hopefully planning to buff the other units, maybe just a little nerf to the Phantoms couldn't hurt? Reduce how often they go invulnerable to powers, maybe? Max out their hand-canon to three shots like the rest of the bosses? I'm okay with their sync kills in comparison to ol' magnet hands, but not in combination with everything else they do.

Also, non-Cerberus buff related suggestion/hope: Could we maybe get just a wee little buff to the Harrier's ammunition reserve? An extra mag or two?

If you buff any other Cerbie units, I'd definitely say to nerf Phantoms. I'm disappointed to read that you are satisfied with where they are. Reduce the damage and firing rate of the palm cannon slightly, plz.

Maybe increase the Atlas fire rate or something. They are supposed to be slow, hulking tanks, and they are, but they are kind of a joke right now with how much time you can spend out of cover and shooting at them.

This week's balance changes will be delayed. We're working to get them out as soon as possible but they won't be showing up today.

Among other things, this week we're looking at bumping up the difficulty of Cerberus a little since our data shows that they are by far the easiest faction on all difficulty levels and have been for quite some time. The Geth and Reapers, on the other hand, are neck and neck for difficulty.

Hey, Eric, isn't Cerberus SUPPOSED to be the easiest faction to play against? I'm pretty sure I even read during the demo days that they were supposed to be the "easy" mode and that reapers were supposed to be the "hard" mode. So, why are you guys surprised that the faction that was supposed to be easy, is easy?

The more I think about it, the more I have trouble comprehending why buffing Cerberus takes precedence over buffing the two dozen underpowered and near useless weapons in this game.

They're constantly buffing weapons.  They buff weapons every f**king week.  God, you children. And how do you know there isn't yet another weapon buff in the next patch?

Seriously, if all the "make it easier" cries are listened to, it will ruin the game for anyone who wants a challenge.  Turn down the diffulculty if it's too hard or frustrating.  You can't turn it up past gold but you can turn it down.  It's unfair to all those who like a challenge.  It's not unfair to makes things harder for the high diffulculty because you can turn it down.  Understand ya selfish pricks?

I don't have many troubles with Geth on gold. the team may do, but I don't see as much stunlock issues on xbox.

The trick to Geth is take out the hunters when they are approaching. If they are in firing range, you let them get too close. The rocket troopers are annoying with their rocket spam, agreed, I would like to reduce their RoF and lock-on time, but the rockets are slow, and you can often get into cover (but dodging doesn't help)

As an infiltrator, the MAJOR thing you have to do is take out the Prime's glowing turret (command and control). That turret is what allows all the Geth to see you (they are networked). If you make sure you take it out as soon as it spawns, you are ok.

Pyros, well, kill 'em at range, same as hunters. That said, I have seen the flames go through cover and kill people. don't like that.

They buff a couple weapons at a time, and often they buff weapons that don't even really need it or their buffs are just too small.  Meanwhile non-ultra rare AR's remain woeful week after week after week, and they're not the only ones.

I'm expecting the Atlas' gun will gain a stagger effect like the Prime.

Nemesis sniper will now randomly double-tap like the Geth Rocket Trooper.

Centurions will now have Peyton Manning throwing arms lobbing grenades 70 yards away with a perfect arc to drop right behind you.

Engineers now throw Arc Grenades.

Guardians now carry a spare shield on their back.

Everything except perhaps the Phantom and/or Turrets will get Health/Armor/Shield buffs.

I'm really glad to hear they're buffing Cerberus. Hopefully they increase Guardians rate of fire, make the Nemesis deadlier, give Atlas a rate of fire or movement speed buff, and give Engineers a rate of fire buff. Or something like that.

It doesn't matter what they said in the past.  And for that matter, I don't recall them ever saying that, and it was a damn demo.

They dont' want to have one faction selected as the  'farm' faction constantly for easy xp and credits.    That's a good enough reason.

'Then boost the credits and xp for the other factions! '  you'll say.  Then we get even more FBW Geth on gold.

I'm guessing they want all factions to be played equally.  Promote variety in enemy selection and reward random faction choice.  Sounds like good to me, it's their game.

Harder, yes. Cheaper, no. I have absolutely no problem with the way Reapers are set up, even though I lose to them more than any other enemy. The magnet hands suck, but the 10m moonwalk is rare enough that I don't care.

The Geth, whom I beat more often than the Reapers, annoy/frustrate the living crap out of me.

As I said earlier, I wouldn't mind if Cerberus became more difficult, but the invulnerable/best sniping/OHKilling/cloaking/ninja-dodging Phantoms need a reduction in cheapness. Give more damage/grenades/mobility to the other units to make up for it, thereby making Cerberus harder AND less cheap.

Reported. Disagreeing with players like yourself does not warrant verbal abuse, nor indicate selfishness. Your take it or leave it view does indicate selfishness.

If you are that leet, you can easily dial up your difficutly by playing lower level characters with weaker weaponry. Driving the average, non-leet players out of Gold by continually buffing the enemies IS unfair.

Reapers=Geth??? My ass they do. Idk what "statistics" you are using but they are wrong. If your judging that based off of their health or some data value like that, you're not doing it right. Reapers are BY FAR the hardest faction to play against because of the way the play the field. They have banshees and brutes that will always force you out of cover and put you into unsafe territory. Then the ravagers get at you. Geth move in yes, but they are far too weak in relation to how fast they move. I swear the most problematic unit to face is the primes' turrets. They're the only ones that get behind enemy lines. Cerberus are much harder than Geth if anything. The only part of them that is easy are the centurions/assault troopers and Atlas'. The Atlas are just as slow as primes and the others rarely move from their cover at distance. The distance values, which I've seen you modify before, need to be closer. The only reason that Cerberus are so much harder than the Geth is because of the phantoms and the combat engineers' turrets. The fact that you say they are "by far" the easiest makes me really doubt if you've ever played the game.
If the factions were on a difficulty scale of 1-10 it would be:
Geth - 4
Cerberus - 6
Reapers - 9
Lets just put aside my opinion and and go off of subjective data.
What percentage of people play Geth? Cerberus? Reapers? I'd say its probably an inverse of my rating. Geth=45-55%, Cerberus=30-40%, Reapers=10-20%. But I'd like you to check that for yourself.
If you search for a match with unknown faction, I guarantee you will end up in a Geth game more than anything.
Like seriously though. Why not balance things that need to be balanced? I would LOVE to take your job for a week and fix all of the **** that's been neglected since day one.

Some people constantly confuse fair challenge and cheapness/fake difficulty. If I buff phantoms to one shot you everytime they see you? Instantly. Would that be a challenge? (actually come to think of it - they do that now, almost)

Or if I give Atlas 250k armor. So you would spend 15 minutes on each one spamming warp-throw in cover. Is that a challenge?

Good call on buffing Cerb, don't pay attention to people who are still obviously upset that their IWIN button was balanced last week. Cerberus is the easiest of all the factions right now, phantoms notwithstanding.

As for the people who are saying this is the final impetus needed for you to quit, asta la vista.
