"Brainwashing" also doesn't show up for Control. People seemed to accept the Reaper's help just fine...

So how do people forgive the Reapers who just slaughtered their familys?
People are brainwashed
Bioware has horrible writing
Pick one

Destroy doesn't show resentment against the salarians for not participating in the war.
Should we assume people were brainwashed or that Bioware simply wanted to leave bleakness out of all the endings after the outrage over the original ones?

What the hell does Salarians have to do with any of this?

Yes... well... apparently, it brainwashes the ones that are against it!

The closest thing we have to "brainwashing" is this.

Synthetics will finally have full understanding of organics.

The ones that actually experience a change in their mind are the synthetics and arguably the Reapers. Organics change physically.

Not true.

Justified through space magic?

They also look brainwashed to me, they don't have any different opinions.

"Look brainwashed" is invalid because the slideshow for Synthesis is almost identical to those of Control and Destroy, and in the former, the Reapers are also around.

Well maybe not brainwashed but I assumed it altered peoples perceptions in some way, because they don’t immediately go WTF! and start freaking out. Which I’m sure would be the expected reaction.

If organics don't change mentally then synthesis doesn't solve anything.

Yeah, but in Control and destroy there is an obvious logical and evidential reason as to why it worked as a solution to make peace.

In synthesis there isn't, therefore in the quest to find this hidden logical explanation we reach the next best thing. Brainwashing.

Unlike in Destroy and Control where soldiers were cheering, Synthesis shows soldiers looking at themselves and at each other in surprise.

People are using a lack of conflict in Synthesis as "proof" that everyone has been brainwashed.
However, Destroy also doesn't show any conflict. Were they brainwashed as well?

Well I sure would not refuse the "help" of a 2km high robot with a giant laser... I didn't mind that ending so much, to me it has a nice undertone of dictatorship to come. Kind of dark.

Destroy was my only option, Control was something unique and peace was a guarantee, however Sythesis from my aspect was something where the stakes of things geting worse was high and that was something I didn't want after 3 games of constant focus in clearing the Reaper threat, once and for all.

Look, I try to keep my comments polite, but you are literally making random crap up to support your opinion. Where does it say that nobody has differing opinoons any more? Or is it your contention that it is impossible to have differing opinions without going to war over it? Do you realize how stupid you sound when you make comments like this?

Playing the devil's advocate, the Krogan does get wiped out if Wreav is in charge and the genophage is cured in Destory. Haven't seen what it's like in the other endings though.

There aren't any synthetics left to fight...

It's not a definitive solution to the Catalyst's problem, I agree.

Are you talking about the Deus Ex 2 synthesis ending?

They look brainwashed to you, but they aren't. Each human still has his own mind and opinions in synthesis. It's just that now everyone is linked together in one giant transhuman connection, allowing everyone to perfectly understand everyone else. Your needs become the needs of many. Your wishes become understandable to everyone. Your opinions and desires will be heard and understood by everyone. A perfect democracy is possible, because decisions will be made through consensus, similar to how the geth work.

It does not. But don't let your irrational hatred of something fictional get in the way of facts!

Rofl. They create a 'consensus'. If you've studied politics to any small degree you'd realise that such a feat is impossible once, let alone consistently and permanently. Basic human psychological principles are in complete contrast to the idea of this 'mass cooperation'. Game theory also predicts the exact opposite and is based on the idea that everyone is perfectly rational.

It wouldn't be so hard to believe if it wasn't instantaneous. Synthesis makes no logical sense as a solution and so I'm simply trying to speculate upon the pieces we have.

So far any other explanation has been equally speculative or more absurd.

Because organics can only fight synthetics?
There should political fallout over the salarian's inaction and the asari's deception.
Just it because it is not shown, it doesn't mean it didn't happen. Just like because we are not shown resentment against the Reapers, that doesn't mean it didn't exist.

Stop trying to apply real life theories to synthesis. It doesn't work. Do you know why?

Because synthesis is impossible in reality.

But I would expect: OMGWTF happened!!!? Why am I glowing. THAT’S NOT NORMAL!

As opposed to: huh, guess I’m green now *shrug*.

Yes, it is a distinct possibility.

During the cinematic, soldiers are shown fighting Reaper forces, once the green space magic happens they simply stop fighting. How did they knew the Reapers were no longer a threat? Just becoming part synthetic is not enough to make peace, unless something is changed on the perceptions they have
