He attends Shep's memorial ceremony. That alone is OOC enough for me to consider it brainwashing. He's calm not raging not glaring and he's there. It doesn't seem IC at all for Javik to accept synthetics (let alone those that destroyed his people and who they died trying to destroy) as part of him. At all. Not even remotely. Not given his constantly expressed feelings on Synthetics beforehand and his final words to Shepard. Flushing all that sacrifice and the building of the Crucible to appease the Reapers? Javik would flip his s***.

Put that down to BW cutting corners. Same memorial for all, none of them in any ending have any real different reaction unless you romance them which then all the romances variants are the same as well.

Agree to disagree I think. I do not see what is presented as brainwashing, you do. Perhaps we have different defenitions of brainwashing but it doesn't matter now.

You do realize with Synthesis you don't get warmonger Wreav if you cured the genophage with only him in charge?

How is that *not* brainwashing?

In control you already know Shep's threatened to curbstomp anyone who disturbs the peace into the ground. What's the excuse for Synthesis?

What does Wreav do in control?

Nothing. Just like Synthesis. (But Control flat out has Shepard threatening to destroy anyone who threatens the peace/the many)

What does Wreav do in Destroy?

I know this isn't any evidence one way or the other, but the whole vibe I got from Control and Synthesis was very creepy, especially Synthesis. The same kind of creepy I get from watching film of interviews with cult members, like Charlie Manson's or Jim Jones'. The vibe from Control was little different for me, more like a, "this isn't going to end well" sorta thing.

They could've simply removed Javik the same way they remove dead/not on the Normandy (in the VS case) squadmates. Would've saved them making a Synthesis model. So yeah I'm seeing that as intentional. Even with it being massively OOC. (heck even put Javik in the wall so you know he killed himself  and the wall has plenty of variations already Mordin dead/not dead Wrex dead/not dead Kaidan/Ashley, Garrus dead/not dead, Tali dead/not dead, Steve dead/not dead (is he even on the wall? I'd assume so) EDI dead/not dead so on...)

Yeah agree to disagree.

I assume you mean a "Javik" name tag, and not literally "dig up Javik's body and pin it to the wall."

Synthesis ending. Javik's rather composed attitude at Shep's memorial.

He looked the same in my control ending (minus the green stuff on his face), so I still don't know what you're talking about. What is so "strange" about Javik in the ending? What makes him look brainwashed to you?

Like I said, he looks the same in the control ending, so how do you explain that?

On the bright side, you'd definitely know he's dead. There's no room for speculation there.

Unless... Javik cloned himself. :bandit:

They could have, but this is the recent BW we are talking about here remember :P

I certainly would have done sonmething different with him along with showing negative AND positives of all the endings better. But alas all we can do is speculate....

That's exactly the problem.

Javik HATES HATES HATES synthetics. Hates. Drag him around sometime. You won't regret it.

Javik calmly paying his respects to a Shepard that not only let the Synthetics get away with eliminating his race scott free but then bent over and appeased them and changed his (Javik's) body into that of a half synthetic.

Why on EARTH (short of brainwashing and a total personality shift) would he being paying his respects to Shepard in this scenario?

You don't even need to drag him on missions to know he hates Synthetics. Some of his more telling dialogue is on the Normandy like a short convo with EDI and stuff about Legion.

Ah, come on, look at it from some grunt's perspective. You've been fighting Reapers, you know that they want to destroy every human being, and then -bam- and you are half-machine yourself. Oh, it's so cool, now you should go give Harby a hug and go dancing with a friendly banshee while rocking those sexy green eyes. Yeah, right.

Personally this is the only way that i would like synthesis as a choice. I love the idea that we can choose to create a utopia but at the cost of our freedom and if Bioware when this route with synthesis i may have actually liked it. As it stands now it essentially creates a utopia with no negative effects and that is exactly why i hate it.

Yeah, even if ain't stated that everyone is brainwashed, I think that it is exactly what happened. I mean, you were fighting against Reapers and then you are somehow perfectly fine with Harbringer reading stories to kids and having John the husk as your neighbour.

Try reading previous posts before making the same arguments. It's not fun writing out the same counter-arguments multiple times. <_<

For the husk argument, I tried addressing it in this thread that no one paid attention to.
Husk in Synthesis -- a projection/extension of the reaper's mind?

The gist of it is that the husks are simply extensions of a reaper's mind, and it is looking at the human soldiers and at itself, surprised at the change, and maybe surprised that it's no longer under the will of the Catalyst (this part is my speculation).

Well, sometimes I don't have time to read the entire thread, so I just quickly look through it and make a reply. Oh, and your link is broken.

Link below should work.

But you get more hilarious lines when you drag him around with EDI and on the Geth missions. <3 Can never have too much Javik.

Are you calm now? Good. Now please explain me why you think EDI sounds brainwashed in the synthesis ending.

Oh god, this.  So much this.  I remember folks screaming "They HAVE to starve, it's the only logical conclusion!"

Such idiocy.

Good thing they retcon'd the starvation out eh?

Can't retcon what doesn't exist to begin with.

Yeah. That Rachni slide looks omnious though. Maybe I'm overreacting but still don't get good vibes from that. :?
